The use of mouth-rinses containing sodium fluoride after tooth brushing has been proposed as a potentially useful measure for the prevention of dental caries in the practice of public health. About 700 middle school girls rinsed their mouths in the school once a week with sodium fluoride sodution after tooth-brushing. Tooth brushing was practiced everyday after meals and the rinses were carried out under the supervision of the teachers. The procedure consisted of gargling 10cc of fluoride solution for one minute and immediately followed by a second rinse with tap water. The rinsing was started in May 1976 and continued for one year. The results were as follows: 1) The inhibition of the 'D' Person rate was 76.04%, 'M' person rate was 80.79%, 'F' person rate was 4.06% and, 'D.M.F.' person rate was 76.86%. 2) the reduction of the 'D.T.' Index was 81.94%, 'M.T.' Index was 85.71%, 'F.T.' Index was 7.69% and, 'D.M.F.T.' Index was 76.83%. 3) Mouth rinsing with 0.3% NaF solution and tooth brushing are of value in the mass control of dental caries.
Permeation behavior of the semiconductor rinsing wastewater containing Si particles was examined by ultrafiltration using the polysulfone plate membrane. The permeation flux was gradually decreased with time. It was due to the growth of cake deposited on the membrane surface and the pore plugging by Si particles. Permeation flux of cross flow type was 1.4 times higher than that of the dead end flow type. Nitrogen back flushing which is the removing method of membrane fouling was superior to the water sweeping. With nitrogen back flushing, the decrease of permeation flux due to the fouling was recovered about 85 % to the initial flux in the flat plate membrane system. The rejection rate of Si particles was about 90 % and the size of Si particle in the permeate was about 70 nm.

Cryopreservation is one of the ideal and suitable methods for long-term storage of plant germplasm. The plant contaminated with diseases and pathogens are decreased the multiplication rate, survival rate and high quality of plants after cryopreservation. The aim of this work was to improve a micropropagation method for lily in Korea, which are cultivars and indigenous plant. In the last process of rinsing scales after surface-sterilization, we tried to control the diseases and pathogens lived within the tissue by rinsing in 0.03% sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) instead of sterile distilled water. Bulb scales of Lilium were cultured in vitro on MS medium supplemented with Plant Preservative Mixture (PPM). The newly small bulb formed from bulb-scales was transferred to MS medium. We checked the non-contamination and survival rate after 2 weeks in culture. Non-contamination was shown to be 70 to 90% in formed small bulbs. This study will help to mitigate microbial contamination in Lilium species micropropagation for cryopreservation.
A new process based on the co-precipitation method was developed fer removing harmful impurities during Mn-Zn ferrite production such as $SiO_2$ and P from waste pickle liquor. By this process a final result of less than 100 ppm of $SiO_2$ and less than 10 ppm of P content in the ferric oxide is easily attained. Though Ca cannot be removed by this process, water rinsing of the ferric oxide is effective fer reducing Ca content to less than 100 pm. For further purification, the origins of each impurity must be investigated and then taken away.
This study was performed to investigate the remainity of synthetic surfactant (LAS) by HPLC and the microbial contamination on stainless steel dishes. For the maintenance and the improvement of school lunch program's safety, the remainity of synthetic surfactants (LAS) on stainless steel dishes washed with auto dishwasher was investigated by HPLC, and the microbial contamination on same dishes was surveyed. The results were as follows: (1) The remainity of synthetic surfactant (LAS) a) The residue of LAS was very small because of the repeated washing of dishes by strong pressurized water. b) The remainity range of LAS on stainless steel dishes was 2.1~7.2 $\mu\textrm{g}$/dish. The remainity of general surfactants was higher in cold water then warm water. The amount of residual general surfatants was 5.95 $\mu\textrm{g}$/dish in cold water, and 2.95 $\mu\textrm{g}$/dish in warm water. There was no difference of the remainity of special surfactants by water temperature. The amount of residual surfactants was 3.9 $\mu\textrm{g}$/dish. c) There was no difference of residue amount by washing times. (2) The microbial contamination after washing with general surfactants. 1) The mean MPN of E. coli was 203(53~345) on 1 hr, 19(6~28) on 2 hrs, in cold water, and 1100(only 1 dish of 1 school) on 1 hr, 24(6~42) on 2hrs. 2) After washing with general surgactants the mean of contamination by general microbials was 956(25~2300)on 1 hr, 694(45~2500) on 2 hrs. in cold water and 803(5~2300) on 1 hr, 671(5~2500)on 2 hrs. After washing with special surfactants the mean of contamination by general microbials was 788(136~2900) on 1 hr, 1122(15~3000) on 2 hrs, in cold water and 537(5~2000) on 1 hr, 88(15~150) on 2 hrs in warm water. (3) Like the results of this study, the good washing methods of stainless steel dishes for school luch program were as follows. First, for washing stainless steel dishes, the use of special surfactants was recommended at 30~4$0^{\circ}C$ water. Second, at 7$0^{\circ}C$ water, the rinsing of dishes was recommended. Third, the final rinsing at 8$0^{\circ}C$ combined with simple disinfection and dry was recommended.
The Water usage is relationship which is close with the administrative cost from industrial facility. It is not easy to reduce a water usage. This research is the optimization of the waste water quantity which process waste water integration of the standard thermal power plant in system operate time. The turbine rotates by force of the steam and it produces an electricity. Demineralization Water is manufacture purity manufacturing equipment and it is supplied in power plant channel. We knew a possibility of reducing from pure control process. When it is reduced the Back Washing time, Rinsing time of the gravity filter and the activated carbon filter. Also, It is possible even from regeneration phase in Condensate Polishing Demineralization System. In addition, There is also the water which the drain of the sampling water for watching the condition of power plant process will be able to use. Integrates these processes it will be able to reduce an annual 30,000 ton degree. The research is want to use the fundamental data for the water curtailment of the power plant.

This research was to demonstrate the Possibility of sewage reuse for industrial purpose with use of membrane system. A bench scale test with microfiltration and reverse osmosis showed that microfiltration in the sewage treatment was not able to remove the soluble salts but 70% suspended solids (SS), suggesting that the treated water could be used as direct cooling water. In addition, the reverse osmosis removed not only soluble salts but also 95% SS, proposing that reverse osmosis-treated water could be used as both indirect cooling water and rinsing water. For a 100 ton/day pilot plant, 20 and 12 elements of microfiltration and reverse osmosis were required, respectively.

The mouth rinsing solution currently on the market is used for oral hygiene and reduction of halitosis, and alkaline ionized water is used for drinking purposes. The aim of this germiculture and observation through a microscope is to investigate the effect they have on the oral bacteria, and the results are as follows. 1. The change in the number of cultivated bacteria before and after the use of gargle was most dramatic for Hexamedin. It showed the highest rate of decrease in bacteria by 71.29%, followed by Listerine with 62.25%, Caregargle with 42.26%, Garglin with 33.52%, saline solution with 21.62%, alkaline ionized water with 16.08% and distilled water with 7.67%. 2. After careful analysis of statistics, Hexamedin was found to result in a significant decrease in the number of bacteria after gargling (p<0.05). 3. From observing through an light microscope after gram staining, it was evident that both a number of cocci and a few of filamentous were present before the use of gargle, whereas mostly cocci was present after the use of gargle. 4. The difference in the pH of oral rinses and alkaline ionized water had no significant influence on the number of oral bacteria. In conclusion, Hexamedin and Listerine, with the rate of decrease of bacteria of co71.29% and 62.25% respectively, have proven to be highly effective when applied before dental treatment. Other oral rinses and alkaline ionized water are relatively less efficient in decreasing the number of oral bacteria. Also, the decrease of bacteria is more affected by the antibacterial component of oral rinses than by the change in pH.

This study was performed to analyze the changes of electrical conductivity with increasement of water requirements for desalinization in reclaimed tidelands and to obtain the basic data for developing prediction techniques of desalinization to be applicable in the beginning of tideland reclamation. Two different desalinization experiments were conducted through the leaching method by subsurface drainage and the rinsing method by surface darainage, using the samples of silt soil and silt loam soil collected in 5 units of tideland reclamation projects. Regression equations were obtained in order to investigate the changes of electrical conductivity during the desalinization of reclaimed tidelands and to estimate water requirements for desalinization.
