This study is for analyzing possibility of utilizing as cement from waste concrete. The scrapped fine powder which contains a large amount of hydrate of cement can supercede lime stone, and greenhouse gas reductions are expected. However, Fine Aggregate powder efficient separation technology development is essential for that limestone substitution effect and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to facilitate through the recycling of the scrapped fine powders.
The amounts of waste stone and stone powder sludge that occurred in the quarry and processing plant of s stone plates, have been increased with the development of stone industry. The manufactunng process of 따tificial s stone was studied to reduce the outlet of these wastes and utilIze them as raw materials for architecture, interior decoration and art work. In order to compare the properties of artiflcial stone with those of natural building-stone, the physi$\alpha$II properties of artificial stone such as specific gravity, absorption ratio, elastic wave velocity, compressive s strength, tensile strength, shore hardness, elasticity and Poission's ratio were measured. From the mesaured d data of physical properties, it was found that physical propertIes of artificial stone were controlled by homogeneous m mixing ratio of constituents, molding pressure, and amount of binder. Also, from the thermo-gravimetric analysis, it was found that artIfIcial stone manufactured had a good thermal stability up to $300^{\circ}C$. It was concluded that t the optimum conditions for manufacturing process of artificial stone were $200kg/\textrm{cm}^2$ of molding pressure, 12-15 w weight % of binder amounts.

This study aims to make artificial stone by recycling blast furnace slag powder, red mud and recycled aggregate, which are known as industrial waste. Recycled aggregate is a typical construction waste, and various recycled products such as concrete block are being sold. In this study, we tried to make artificial stone mixed with waste such as recycled aggregate, and experimented with the use of artificial stone and further study. As the red mud replacement ratio increased, the absorption ratio, fluidity and air content of the matrix were measured to be decreased, and the strength and density were found to increase. The fluidity and absorption ratio decreased with increasing the replacement ratio of recycled aggregate, and the air quantity, rate of aggregate on the surface, density and intensity increased to a certain level. Therefore, this study intends to make artificial stone using recycled resources and conducted basic experiments for further study.
An ore of stone obtained from quarry lose its about 60% such as the muck and the stone-dust during the process of making the architectural block, the crushed aggregate and so on. A part of the muck is only reutilized for the crushed aggregate as road pavement materials, while the most of the muck in the shape of powder is mixed with water and then it is deposited in a sludge tank. The muck in the shape of powder is called the stone-dust. If the stone-dust is discharged and sprayed, an ecosystem will have terrible damage because the seepage of surface water, the flow of ground water and the movement of air are not occurred smoothly by packing the void of soils. As the Waste Management Law (2003) in Korea, the stone-dust is sorted out the industrial waste and the most of that is dumped in ground. Therefore, the establishments of an efficient recycling plan are necessary through the improvement of engineering properties of the stone-dust. To investigate the possibility of recycle and improvement for the stone-dust, the stone-dust and natural soils are sampled from six quarries in Korea. The various soil tests are performed by use of the mixed soils with the stone-dust content ratio. As the result of various soil tests, the recycle possibility of the stone-dust is analyzed as subbase layer materials of the roads.
This paper aims to present the evaluation of engineering characteristics and reusing possibility of waste powders produced in dolomite and limestone nonmetal mining by physical and mechanical experiments on compaction, uniaxial compressive strength, permeability, chemical composition, and so on. Granite soil, 2 types of limestone waste powder, and 1 type of dolomite waste powder were used for main materials, and cement and bentonite were used for admixed materials in this experiments. The findings based on the experimental results are the severe difference of chemical composition of the dolomite & limestone waste powder and the crushed rock waste powder, and the outstanding of engineering characteristics of the dolomite waste powder with high content of MgO compared with the limestone waste powder. The engineering properties on compaction, uniaxial compressive strength, and permeability are enhanced with increase of admixed ratio of waste powder on granite soil. From the experimental results, it can be suggested that the dolomite waste powder admixed with in-situ granite soil is useful as geo-materials with considering of distribution costs.

The development of sustainable composites materials, from recycled polymeric materials and waste from the wood industry and stone processing, allows reducing the volume of these by-products, minimizing impacts on health and the environment. Nowadays, Polypropylene (PP) is the most recycled polymer in industry, while the furniture industry has increasingly used timber felled from sustainable forest plantations as a eucalypt. The powder tailing from the ornamental stone extraction and processing industry is commonly disposed of in the environment without previous treatment. Thus, the technological option for the development of composite materials presents itself as a sustainable alternative for processing and manufacturing industries, enabling the development of new materials with special technical features. The results showed that powder granite particles may be incorporated into the polypropylene matrix associated with short eucalyptus fibres forming green hybrid composites with potential application in structural engineering, such as transport and civil construction industries.
When crushing rocks to produce aggregates, solid stone dust or sludge is generated as a by-product. These by-products are classified as waste and are not utilized, and most of them are disposed of landfills. This by-product differs in mineral composition, chemical composition, and physical properties depending on the rock type and aggregate production process. Therefore, if a technology that can make good use of the inherent physical or chemical properties of by-products is developed, economic and environmental benefits can be achieved instead of disposal. In this study, stone dust and sludge were collected from domestic aggregate producers and physical and chemical properties were investigated by performing XRD mineral analysis, particle size analysis, and chemical analysis. In addition, the research trend was identified through a domestic and international research case studies on the use of stone powder and sludge.
The extensive utilization of concrete has given rise to environmental concerns, specifically concerning the depletion of river sand. To address this issue, waste deposits can provide manufactured-sand (MS) as a substitute for river sand. The objective of this study is to explore the application of machine learning techniques to facilitate the production of manufactured-sand concrete (MSC) containing stone nano-powder through estimating the splitting tensile strength (STS) containing compressive strength of cement (CSC), tensile strength of cement (TSC), curing age (CA), maximum size of the crushed stone (Dmax), stone nano-powder content (SNC), fineness modulus of sand (FMS), water to cement ratio (W/C), sand ratio (SR), and slump (S). To achieve this goal, a total of 310 data points, encompassing nine influential factors affecting the mechanical properties of MSC, are collected through laboratory tests. Subsequently, the gathered dataset is divided into two subsets, one for training and the other for testing; comprising 90% (280 samples) and 10% (30 samples) of the total data, respectively. By employing the generated dataset, novel models were developed for evaluating the STS of MSC in relation to the nine input features. The analysis results revealed significant correlations between the CSC and the curing age CA with STS. Moreover, when delving into sensitivity analysis using an empirical model, it becomes apparent that parameters such as the FMS and the W/C exert minimal influence on the STS. We employed various loss functions to gauge the effectiveness and precision of our methodologies. Impressively, the outcomes of our devised models exhibited commendable accuracy and reliability, with all models displaying an R-squared value surpassing 0.75 and loss function values approaching insignificance. To further refine the estimation of STS for engineering endeavors, we also developed a user-friendly graphical interface for our machine learning models. These proposed models present a practical alternative to laborious, expensive, and complex laboratory techniques, thereby simplifying the production of mortar specimens.

In order to investigate the applicability and suitability of the industrial by-products to apply mono-layer cover system for non-sanitary landfill sites, 6 different industrial by-products, such as construction waste, bottom ash, gypsum, blast furnace and steel manufacture slags, and stone powder sludge, were evaluated. Various physicochemical and hydrodynamic properties of the industrial byproducts were investigated. The environmental safety was monitored using batch and long-term leaching tests as well. In addition, the flexibility of plants was observed by cultivating them in the industrial by-products. The results for physicochemical properties indicate that most of the materials considered appeared to be suitable for landfill cover. Particularly, the concentration levels of hazardous elements regulated by the Korean Law for Waste Management did not exceed the regulatory limits in all target materials. In addition, the concentrations of regulated elements for the Korean Soil Conservation Law were examined below the regulatory limits in most of materials considered, except for the stone powder sludge. The results of batch and long-term experiments showed bottom ash and construction waste were the most suitable materials for landfill cover among the industrial by-products considered. The results of plant studies indicate that the bottom ash among industrial by-products considered was most effective in developing vegetation on landfill site, showing fast germination and large growth index. At the final covering system made of mixture of soil and bottom ash, the optimum application rate of farmyard manure was observed to be 40-50 Mg/ha.
