  • By-products from fisheries produced in Korea are of the same industrial material as imported raw materials and are valuable resources for marine bioindustries. Securing raw materials for the mass production of functional materials is one of the main objectives for marine bioindustrial development. The use of fishery by-products as raw materials is anticipated to increase rapidly as the biomarket is growing into a promising industry. In this study, data were acquired from an open-source environment to perform exploratory data analysis, and various visualization methods were used to compare fishery production to the production of marine processed products in the year 2020. This study suggested that the amount of seafood processing, types of processing items, and areas where fishery processing residue is generated, should be able to secure hygienic raw material supply in large quantities. Thus far, it has been found that the Gyeonggi-do and Busan province, where HACCP-certified processing facilities are concentrated, and the local government Seafood Cluster and the Smart Aquaculture Cluster are at the forefront of stable, mass production of raw materials.

  • Objective: We compared appendiceal visualization on 2-mSv CT vs. conventional-dose CT (median 7 mSv) in adolescents and young adults and analyzed the undesirable clinical and diagnostic outcomes that followed appendiceal nonvisualization. Materials and Methods: A total of 3074 patients aged 15-44 years (mean ± standard deviation, 28 ± 9 years; 1672 female) from 20 hospitals were randomized to the 2-mSv CT or conventional-dose CT group (1535 vs. 1539) from December 2013 through August 2016. A total of 161 radiologists from 20 institutions prospectively rated appendiceal visualization (grade 0, not identified; grade 1, unsure or partly visualized; and grade 2, clearly and entirely visualized) and the presence of appendicitis in these patients. The final diagnosis was based on CT imaging and surgical, pathologic, and clinical findings. We analyzed undesirable clinical or diagnostic outcomes, such as negative appendectomy, perforated appendicitis, more extensive than simple appendectomy, delay in patient management, or incorrect CT diagnosis, which followed appendiceal nonvisualization (defined as grade 0 or 1) and compared the outcomes between the two groups. Results: In the 2-mSv CT and conventional-dose CT groups, appendiceal visualization was rated as grade 0 in 41 (2.7%) and 18 (1.2%) patients, respectively; grade 1 in 181 (11.8%) and 81 (5.3%) patients, respectively; and grade 2 in 1304 (85.0%) and 1421 (92.3%) patients, respectively (p < 0.001). Overall, undesirable outcomes were rare in both groups. Compared to the conventional-dose CT group, the 2-mSv CT group had slightly higher rates of perforated appendicitis (1.1% [17] vs. 0.5% [7], p = 0.06) and false-negative diagnoses (0.4% [6] vs. 0.0% [0], p = 0.01) following appendiceal nonvisualization. Otherwise, these two groups were comparable. Conclusion: The use of 2-mSv CT instead of conventional-dose CT impairs appendiceal visualization in more patients. However, appendiceal nonvisualization on 2-mSv CT rarely leads to undesirable clinical or diagnostic outcomes.

  • An experimental investigation was carried out to study the characteristics of concentration of a coaxial jet being tone excited and consisting of $CO_2$, and air. The concentration in a binary gas mixture was measured by using the hot-wire anemometer and flow visualization was performed by the schlieren technique. In the case of excited flow, it is found that acoustic energy is partially transferred to RMS concentration to enhance mixing.

  • Twin-fluid atomization has been widely used in combustors and process industries because of its high performance and simple structure. Flow visualization and pressure measurements were conducted to investigate the effects of gas flow in twin-fluid atomization. Schlieren photographs showed that changes in atomizing gas pressure, altered the wave patterns, and the lengths of both recitrculating toroid (impinging stangnation point) nad supersonic flow region in the jet. A longer supersonic wave pattern like net-shape wqas observed as atomizing gas pressure increased. The disintegration phenomenon of liquid delivery tube. The variation of spray angles with gas pressures were obtained by visualization using laser sheet beam. Suction pressuresat the nozzle orifice exit and recirculating region are shown to be used to estimate the stable atomization condition of a twin-fluid atomizer.

  • Underground storage cavern is known as the most complicated underground project because of the complexity of construction schedule, tunnel size, and geological problems. In order to optimize the construction schedule of underground storage cavern, two up-to-date technologies were applied. The first technology was 3 dimensional visualization of complicated underground structures, and the second was 4 dimensional simulation considering construction resources, geological conditions and construction schedule. This application case shows that we can achieve optimized construction schedule in the ways to optimize the number of work teams, fleets, the sequence of tunnel excavation, the commencement time of excavation and the hauling route of materials and excavated rocks. 3 dimensional modeling can help designer being able to understand the status of complicated underground structures and to investigate the geological data in the exact 3 dimensional space. Moreover, using 4 dimensional simulation, designer is able to determine the bottle neck point which appear during hauling of excavated rocks and to investigate the daily fluctuation in cost.

  • The digital contents industry already heads toward the OSMU(One Source Multi Use) method of media. In case the success of the original novel recreates to a movie, the success of a movie is again noticed with the original novel. For this reason, a novel and movie are open at the same time, In this paper, we analyze through the case study of three fantasy films having the narrative structure of the germane myth : The Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, The Chronicles Of Narnia based on the analysis basis : Hero's Journey 12 steps by J. Campbell, The analysis of scenes of each film visualizing the narrative structure of a novel can be used as the basic materials in the process of visualizing the scale of the original and message of a writer, we consequently believe that these analysis will be able to be applied the appropriate visual techniques (the special effect, the scene tractions, and etc.)in visualization of films.

  • With the help of information technology The problem of building a concrete form with a shapeless media is the starting point of presenting information by means of sound. Audio-Visual System using sound as a medium is a method that presents an auditory material visually and has a role of linking different sensory organs. In a sense, Audio-Visual System transfers a non-concrete sensation to a concrete one. Audio-Visual System presentation by late methods using active and non-active images produced by computerized irregular procedures can be limited because of the limited ways of visual output. On the other side, visualization using active images can induce more diverse expressions using sound as a medium. This study suggests a new way of expression in animations using visualization of various auditory materials and sounds built by Audio-Visual System with active images.

  • The presence of implant-prosthesis misfits can cause various complications. It is very important to detect misfits to prevent such complications. There are various evaluation methods for misfit assessment including clinical methods and laboratory in vitro methods. The clinical misfit evaluation includes radiographic analysis, visual observation, probing, Sheffield test, evaluation with disclosing materials, and screw resistance test. The laboratory in vitro evaluation method includes indirect modelling evaluation and direct metrological visualization. Of the indirect modelling methods, photoelastic stress analysis, finite element analysis, strain gauge analysis, and microbial colonization analysis were reviewed. Of the direct metrological visualization, microscopic analysis, 3-D photogrammetric analysis, coordinate measuring analysis, and radiographic analysis were reviewed. In this review, the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of each method were evaluated.
