Visual Measurement of Pile Movement for the Foundation Work using a High-Speed Line-Scan

  • When a construction company builds a high structure, many piles should be driven into the ground by a hammer whose weight is 7,000 Kg in order to make the ground under the structure safe and strong. So, it is essential to determine whether a pile is penetrated into the ground enough to support the weight of the structure since ground characteristics at different locations are different each other. This paper proposes a visual measurement system for pile rebound and penetration movement including vibration using a high-speed line-scan camera and a specially designed mark to recognize two-dimensional motion parameters of the mark using only a line-scan camera. A mark stacking white and black right-angled triangles is used for the measurement, and movement information for vertical distance, horizontal distance and rotational angle is determined simultaneously

  • The purpose of this study is development of the diagnosis system to preventative maintenance in the on-board measuring systems for in-cab electric inspection systems of high speed railway. The on-board measuring systems can inspect precisely whether ground signal system operate stably. In this paper, we recognize characteristics of the track circuits and confirm whether the wave of current matches the on-board measuring data through the electric modeling method for high speed railway. it is necessary to develop GUI visual programs that can simulate abnormalities of the on-board measuring data in many ways, and the visual program is designed to diagnosis in the case of track circuit equipment's function decreased in advance.

  • Recently, research of visual control is getting more essential in robotic application, and acquiring 3D informations from the 2D images is becoming more important with development of vision system. For this application, we propose the effective way of controlling stereo vision tracking system for target tracking and calculating distance between target and camera. In this paper we address improved controller using dual-loop visual servo which is more effective compared with using single-loop visual servo for stereo vision tracking system. The speed and the accuracy for realizing a real time tracking are important. However, the vision processing speed is too slow to track object in real time by using only vision feedback data. 가상현실-트레드밀 보행에서 시각적 속도감과 보행 속도감의 불일치가 가상현실 멀미에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Inconsistency Between Visually Perceived Walking Speed and Physically Perceived Walking Speed on VR Sickness in VR-Treadmill Walking)

  • 서로 다른 감각 정보의 불일치가 가상현실 멀미를 유발하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 트레드밀 기반의 가상현실 보행을 통해 감각 정보 일치의 멀미 완화 효과를 검증하고 나아가서 가상현실에서의 광학 흐름(optic flow) 단서에 의한 시각적 속도감과 트레드밀 보행을 통한 보행 속도감의 불일치가 멀미 완화 효과에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 실험1에서는 트레드밀 보행의 멀미 완화 효과를 검증하기 위해 HMD를 통해 앞으로 이동하는 가상현실 체험을 하면서 가만히 서 있을 때와 트레드밀 보행을 할 때의 멀미 수준을 비교하였다. 실험 결과 가상현실 속에서 이동을 하며 트레드밀 보행을 할 때 더 적은 멀미를 느끼고 실재감과 몰입감은 증가하였다. 실험2와 실험3에서는 가상현실 속에서 이동하는 속도에 대한 시각적 속도감과 트레드밀 보행의 속도감을 조작해 두 속도감이 일치할 때와 불일치할 때의 멀미 수준을 비교하였다. 흥미롭게도 참가자들은 시각적 속도감이 보행속도감보다 빠르게 느껴지는 불일치 조건에서 일치조건보다 더 낮은 멀미를 경험하였다. 이와 같은 실험결과는 가상현실 속에서 이동할 때 시각적 정보와 일관되게 트레드밀 보행을 하게 하는 것이 가상현실 멀미를 완화시키지만 속도감의 일치가 필수적인 것이 아님을 시사한다.

운전자의 특성에 따른 자동차 운전 수행도 분석 (Analysis of Driving Performances on the Characteristics of Drivers)

  • Driving performance is characterized by many things such as driver's experience period, age, ability of information processing and reaction time of control devices and so forth. However, each factor of driving performance is needed to help and screen a poor driver for safe driving. In this paper, driving performance was estimated by reaction of manipulating brake, accelerator, steering wheel and speed. Subjects were grouped by experience of accident and age. Combinations of every group were analysed. For all the dependent variables, only steering wheel and speed were shown to have significant difference, which could be regarded as visual information of speed and direction were the important factors to drive safely. Especially for tile elderly, it is needed to enhance their ability of visual information processing that is to be decreased with aging. Therefore driving simulator to train and screen the poor driver should be studied.

트레드밀 측방보행 훈련 동안 시각차단이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 및 보행에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Visual Cue Deprivation During Sideways Treadmill Training on Balance and Walking in Stroke Patients)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of visual cue deprivation during sideways treadmill training in individuals with stroke. Twenty-eight stroke patients were divided into two groups, and each group participated in a sideways treadmill training session for 20 minutes, three times per week for 4 weeks. The eyes close group (15 subjects) performed this treadmill training with visual cue deprivation, while the eyes open group (13 subjects) performed it without visual cue deprivation. Gait function was measured in both groups before and after the training sessions with the Biodex Gait Trainer 2, which determined walking speed, distance, step length, and time on each foot. Balance was measured before and after each training period in both groups using the Five-Times Sit-to-Stand Test (FTSST), the Timed Up and Go test (TUG), and the seven-item Berg Balance Scale-3P (7-item BBS-3P). The eyes close group showed significantly improved gait function, walking speed, distance, step length, and time on each foot after training (p<.05). The eyes close group showed improved balance ability, FTSST, TUG, and 7-item BBS-3P test after training (p<.05). The findings indicated that sideways treadmill training with visual cue deprivation positively affects gait ability of stroke patients. Therefore, sideways treadmill training with visual cue deprivation may be useful for the recovery of gait ability of stroke patients.

무작위 시청각자극이 건강한 성인의 보행에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Random Visual and Auditory Stimulation on Walking of Healthy Adults)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of visual and auditory stimulation randomly applied to healthy adults on walking. Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Methods: Twenty-six healthy students in S college were randomly divided into visual feedback group (n=13) and auditory feedback group (n=13). The visual feedback group walked using four conditions. 1) In the red screen was shown, clap twice to the right, 2) In yellow screen, clap twice to the left, 3) In green screen, clap twice over head. 4) Do not clap in purple screen. The auditory feedback group walked using four conditions. 1)in red, clap twice to the right, 2) In yellow, clap twice left, 3) In green, clap twice over your head. 4) Do not clap in purple. All subjects measured gait variables before and after the test using G-walker. Result: The visual feedback group showed a significant decrease (p<.05) in the number of steps per minute, walking speed, and step length compared with that of normal walking. The auditory feedback group showed a significant decrease (p<.05) in the number of steps per minute, walking speed, and step length than that of normal walking. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that visual and auditory stimulation applied to healthy adults may have significant effects on walking.

  • In this study, the optimum criteria of space between the lines and the letters which could largely affect the legibility were found by the experiment and were presented as guidelines to design Korean VDT screens. Since the experiment was designed to test the human performance based on the VDT screen design, searching speed (S.S) and error rate (E) were used as the criteria of performance, and CFF value was measured to evaluate user's visual fatigue. The EOG value was also measured for the visual restriction during the experiment for the space between the lines and letters.

  • 카메라로 얻어진 화상을 근거로 계산된 속도분포를 시각정보로 이용하였으며, 이것으로부터 얻어진 대상물의 속도에 시선속도를 일치시켜 실험하였다. 즉 외란을 받은 환경에서도 안정된 화상을 얻기 위해서 외란이나 카메라 자체의 운동에 의해서 발생한 두부의 운동을 보상할 수 있는 눈의 운동이 필요하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 외란이 있는 환경에서 인간의 시선제어법 즉 시각과 평형각이 융합된 시선제어 알고리즘을 제안하고, 그에 대한 실험 결과에서 시각과 평형각이 융합된 시선제어가 시선제어만을 한 것과 비교하여 위치 편차가 적다는 것을 확인하였다. 이것은 카메라 받침대의 움직임이 각속도 센서에 의하여 보상되어 겉보기 속도가 적게 되어 속도의 추정오차도 적게 되는 효과가 있기 때문이었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 영상전화 서비스 수행을 위한 기존 플랫폼들의 문제점을 분석하고 이를 해결 할 수 있는 차등 태스크 인터럽트 방식의 멀티미디어 데이터 스트림 처리구조를 제안하고, 이 구조를 기반으로 하여 ITU-T H.320 표준규격과 국가별 차이 규격도 수용하는 영상단말 시스템을 설계하여 기존 시스템의 문제점을 보완하였다. 구현과 실험을 통해 기존 시스템의 구조나 방식보다 여러가지 성능 및 품질 측면에서 개선됨을 검증하였다.
