  • The Rothschild family in the UK and the Rockefeller in the USA installed a number of private organization with which they could exert their influence on the world, recruited world renowned figured and spread out their arguments via global visual media worldwide. Their ultimate goal was to reshuffle the world in a new global order. They attempted to persuade people to accept their messages by reiterating them via their visual media. They deliver their own value of existence, efficiency and future convenience via their visual media regarding politics, economics and religion. If such is seen in a Christian perspective, they replace the place and existence of God with their own power and attempt to reorganize the world in a new global order. Their desire seems to be that of Anti-Christ, i.e. the Satan in the Bible. This study attempts to reveal that reality of visual media is fictitious from the Christian perspective.

  • The study presupposes that, ever since its modernization, the Korean local government buildings have undergone an evolutionary process of their spatial organizations and the process can be analyzed in terms of increased publicness of architectural space. For the purpose, fifteen examples of local government buildings in Korea are selected and analyzed in terms of their plans converted into spatial diagrams measuring accessibility depth. Within these analytical diagrams, some quantitative measures such as permeability and visual connection, and the number of decision making points that visitors face on the way to their targets. The study analyzes these analytic measures of selected samples which are categorized into three chronological groups in order to search any evolutionary tendency of spatial transformation. The analysis shows that the accessibility of public functions and presumably the publicness of the spatial organization of local government buildings has been increased. The results of the study implies that, to acquire architectural publicness in government buildings, not only the insertion of public programs but also the organization of open spatial structure is significant.

  • In mobile device's user interface, menu organization is very important as well as menu structure because small display of mobile device. Menu items should be organized based on user knowledge structure to design user-centered interface. Traditionally, MDS (Multidimensional Scaling) have been most often used to expose users' perceived organization of menu items. But, information that MDS reveals is just relative spatial location of concepts and not relevant to concepts connection. Unlike MDS, Trajectory Mapping explicitly finds users' cognitive links between perceived concepts. This study proposes a Trajectory Mapping technique for eliciting knowledge structure, especially a set of cognitive pathways linking menu items, from end user. With twelve participants, MDS and Trajectory Mapping were conducted using cellular phone's menu items. And user knowledge structure was analyzed through Visual Concept Map that combination of results of MDS and Trajectory Mapping. After then, menu items were organized according to users' perceived organization. Empirical usability test was also conducted. The results of usability test showed that usability, in terms of task performance time, number of errors, and satisfaction, for newly organized interface was significantly improved compare to original interface. The methodology of this study is expected to be applicable to design a user-centered interface. In other words, Trajectory Mapping technique can be used as a design tool of user interface for imposing user knowledge structure on the interface.

  • The purpose of this research is to apply and evaluate the Water Environmental Education Program Using Streams(WEES) to pre-service teachers. WEES is developed to help the teachers increase their professionalism of incorporating a local environment into their inquiry teaching. The subjects of the study include the juniors of the Environmental Education Major at the Korea National University of Education. For the purpose this study, educational criticism about WEES was performed. The subject students were observed throughout the program application, after which a survey and in-depth interviews were carried out. As a result, the implementation elements and content organization of the WEES were found to be implemented in the application process in a satisfying level. In the content organization of the program, the preliminary preparation, visual assessment, and inquiry planning were organically connected with each other for inquiry purposes. The Intrinsic value of environmental education was also demonstrated in the implementation elements and content organization. Overall, the stream turned out to have a great value of environmental education and a potential as a place and material for environmental education. The great significance of the study can be found in that WEES took into account not only the characteristics of the ENVISION based on the watershed concept, but also the situations of Korea's environmental education and exploration from the perspective of environmental studies.

  • The ability to maintain an upright position during quiet standing is a useful motor skill. The Sensory Organization Test (SOT) is a timed balance test that evaluates somatosensory, visual, and vestibular function for maintenance of upright posture. The Fugl-Meyer Sensorimotor Assessment (FMSA) balance subscale is the functional status assessment that indicates amount of assistance needed during various balance tasks. Functional Independence Measure (FIM) is the functional status assessment tool and FIM can be used clinically as an outcome measure. The purpose of this study was to see if the SOT can be used as a evaluation tool to measure hemiplegic patients' balance ability. Thirty-six patients with hemiplegia participated in this study. SOT scores were significantly correlated with FMSA balance scores and FIM scores(p<0.05). However correlation coefficients were not so high (r=0.60, and r=0.51, respectively). Therefore, further study is needed to verify the SOT's usefulness when physical therapists are evaluating for hemiplegic patients' balance ability.

  • It has been suggested that primates' trichromatic color vision is an adaption for folivory and frugivory. Ripened fruit frequently is red against a green background. Given this, the question for our research was whether the ecological relationship between red and green plays any role in figure-ground organization that is an essential step in forming our perception of objects? In this study, it was tested which color looked most strong as a figure, using a red circle on a green background and a green circle on red background. The results of Experiment 1 showed that most participants saw the red circle for the figure more than the green circle. However, this effect was significant only in females, but not in males. Accordingly, this result suggests that the visual development of figure-ground organization based on red-green color combination may differ between males and females. In Experiment 2, it was surveyed that the results of Experiment 1 was simply not by the sex difference of color preference. The gender difference of the figure-ground organization on red-green stimuli are discussed in terms of some recent hypotheses such as gatherer-hunter hypothesis.

  • In implementing a computerized virtual training system, the auditory element is responsible for the human cognitive ability following visual elements. Especially, the improvement of hearing ability is closely related to the performance of the training, and it contributes to improvement of the training effect. In this paper, we propose a sound system that is necessary for constructing such a virtual training system as a test system that can use a sound source using a head related transfer function (HRTF). Functional and auditory tests were performed to evaluate system performance.

  • This study investigated the importance of social cognitive intervention and the cognitive rehabilitation intervention by comparing the difference and examining the relationship between neurological cognitive function and social cognitive function of stroke patients in the acute phase and chronic stroke before returning to the community. LOTCA, cartoon intention inference task, and social behavior sequence task were performed on 30 acute stroke inpatients and 30 chronic stroke patients from May 2015 to June 2016. A two sample t test was conducted to examine the differences between the groups. The Pearson's correlations test was performed to examine the correlation among the variables in each group. As a result, there were statistically significant differences between the neurological cognitive function and social cognitive function of acute stroke patients and chronic stroke patients who were undergoing rehabilitation training before returning to the community (p<0.05). A linear relationship was found between the thinking operation and social behavior sequence task in the acute stroke group (r=0.539, p<0.05). In the chronic stroke group, visual perception (r=0.530, p<0.05), visual motor organization (r=0.655, p<0.05) and thinking operation (r=0.534, p<0.05) were correlated with the cartoon intention inference task. In addition, the social behavior sequence task were correlated with visual organization (r=0.534, p<0.05) and thinking operation (r=0.764, p<0.05). As a result of multiple regression analysis, the neurological cognitive functions influencing the social cognitive function in the cartoon task was found to be the thinking operation (B = 0.431) in acute stroke patients and the thinking operation (B=0.272) and visuomotor organization (B = 0.218) in the case of chronic stroke. In addition, the results of the social behavior sequence task revealed the thinking operation (B=0.417) in the acute stroke patients, and thinking operation (B=0.267), visual motor organization(B=0.274) and visual perception(B=151) in chronic stroke patients to be significant. According to this result, there is a difference in the neurological and social cognitive levels between the two groups. Therefore, the social cognition is strongly related to the high level cognitive function as thinking operation of the neurological cognitive function. Therefore, in further research, it would be necessary to determine if there is a change in higher cognitive function in neurological cognitive function after applying a social cognition intervention program for stroke.

  • The explosion in biological data resulting from high-throughput experiments requires new software tools to manipulate and display pathways in a way that can integrate disparate sources of information. A visual Java-based CAD tool for drawing and annotating biological pathways with semiautomatic image-processing features is described in this paper. The result of the image-editing process is an XML file for the appropriate links. This tool integrates the pathway images and XML file sources. The system has facilities for linking graphical objects to external databases and is capable of reproducing existing visual representations of pathway maps.

  • A few bioinformatics tools have been used to find out conserved regions as probes. We have developed a system based on a heuristic method with web interfaces to find out conserved regions against microbial genomes. The system runs in real time by using relative entropy in limited narrow regions and detecting similar regions between pair regions with local alignment. The system could be useful to find out conserved regions as genome-wide scale.
