Evaluation of Visual Sensitivity according to Basic Figure and Color -Focused on the College Students of Daejeon and Daegu- (기초도형과 색에 따른 시각감성 평가 - 대전과 대구지역의 대학생을 중심으로 -)

  • We evaluate what kinds of differences are existed to the visual sensitivity of college students m Daegu and Daejeon. Evaluation used the produced basic pattern to change modeling element of figure, direction, proportion, and color. The results are as below. The circle is preferred to the figure sensitivity and the triangle in Daegu and triangle and quadrangle in Daejeon is disliked. The direction sensitivity shows the difference of preferences according to figure. The angle of $0^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ which could be felt stability is preferred in general. In proportion sensitivity, the basic figure 1:1 rectangular proportions are preferred. The color sensitivity I shows the differences of preference according to figure and there are difference to the area in the degree of aversion.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a CAD-based program for data analysis of digital elevation model(DEM) on the aspect of landscape assessment. When handling DEM data as a visual simulation of topographic landscape, it is basic interest to analyze visible area and visualize visual sensitivity distributions. In reference with landscape assessment, more intuitive and interactive visualizing tools are needed, specially in area of visual approach. For adaptability to landscape assessment, algorithmic approaches to visibility analysis and concepts for visual sensitivity calculation in this study were based on processing techniques of entity data control functions used in AutoCAD drawing database. Also, for the purpose of quantitative analysis, grid-type 3DFACE entities were adopted as mesh unit of DEM structure. Developed programs are composed of main part named VSI written in AutoLISP and two of interface modules written in dialog control language(DCL0 for user-oriented interactive usage. Definitions of camera points(view points) and target points(or observed area) are available alternatively in combined methods of representing scenic landscape, scenery, and sequential landscape. In the case of scene landscape(single camera to fixed target point), only visibility analysis in available. And total visibility, frequency of cumulative visibility, and visual sensitivity analysis are available in other cases. Visual sensitivity was thought as view angle(3 dimensional observed visual area) and the strengths were classified in user defined level referring to statistical characteristics of distribution. Visibility analysis routine of the VSI was proved to be more effective in the accuracy and time comparing with similar modules of existing AutoCAD third utility.

  • With the increasing demand for a better FPD image quality, better evaluation metrics and advanced display quality measurement methods are required to meet these needs. There are many measurement methods for evaluating the viewing angle of various display devices, but these methods, which include luminance drop, color shift, and contrast ratio decrease, are imperfect considering that human perception does not completely correlate to them. In this paper, a new method of measuring the perceptual angle of FPDs is proposed, considering human visual perception, which uses the color space of the color appearance model.

  • Super In Plane Switching (S-IPS) technology is applied for large TFT-LCD panels used in TV applications. It has a lot of advantages in comparison to the alternative, VA technology. S-IPS shows excellent viewing angle properties and fast response time between intermediate gray levels. If the performance parameters which describe the actual visual performance are considered, S-IPS is much more advantageous.$^{1)}$ However, it shows relatively low contrast ratio in diagonal direction compared to viewing angle characteristic in upper/down direction in S-IPS. In order to compensate the relatively low diagonal contrast ratio, a newly designed optical film was applied and the truly wide view angle of a S-IPS TW(True Wide)-IPS) was achieved. Our newly developed 30-inch TFT-LCD panel reveals TW-IPS that is optimized for TV application

Adult Idiopathic Scoliosis Treated by Acupuncture : A case report (침 치료로 호전된 특발성 척추 측만증 환자의 증례보고)

  • 목적: 이 증례 보고는 성인 특발성 측만증 환자에 있어서 등의 통증과 척추 만곡에 대한 침 치료의 효과를 보고하기 위한 것이다. 방법: 증례의 환자는 25세 여자 환자로 9년 동안 우측 흉추 측만증과 등과 허리의 통증이 있었다. 1주일에 3번, 3주간 침 치료를 시행했고, 치료 전후로 Whole spine x-ray를 촬영하였으며, 환자의 통증 정도를 Visual Analog Scale(VAS)로 평가하였다. 내원시 Cobb angle은 $22^{\circ}$였고, 관상면 균형은 -3.0cm, 쇄골각은 $-3.5^{\circ}$였다. VAS 8의 통증을 호소하였다. 결과: Cobb angle은 $5^{\circ}$ 감소하였고, 관상면 균형은 1.4cm, 쇄골각은 $1.7^{\circ}$ 회복되었다. 등과 허리의 통증은 VAS 8에서 VAS 3으로 감소하였다. 결론: 침 치료는 특발성 척추 측만증 환자에 있어서 등과 허리의 통증뿐만 아니라 척추 측만을 개선시키고 관상면 균형 회복에도 효과적이다.

  • For autonomous navigation, a legged robot should be able to walk over irregular terrain and adapt itself to variation of supporting surface. Walking through slope is one of the typical tasks for such case. Robot needs not only to change foot trajectory but also to adjust its configuration to the slope angle for maintaining stability against gravity. This paper suggests such adaptation algorithm for stable walking which uses feedback of reaction forces at feet. Adjusting algorithm of foot trajectory was studied with the estimated angel of slope without visual feedback. A concept of virtual slope angle was introduced to adjust body configuration against slope change of the supporting terrain. Regeneration of foot trajectory also used this concept for maintaining its stable walking against unexpected landing point.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare drivers' postures with different car pedal systems and skilled levels. Fourteen subjects participated in this experiment and for three-dimensional analyses, six cameras (Proreflex MCU-240, Qualisys) were used to acquire raw data. The parameters were calculated and analyzed with Visual-3D. In conclusion, the patterns of pelvic, hip, knee and ankle joint angles were different as to pedal systems and skilled levels, and distal joints ROA pelvis have large angles. ROA(range of angle) of a double pedal system was small, but ROA of a single pedal system was large. These findings suggested that we should improve a present single pedal system.

  • The lightshelf system, a daylighting device, has been applied to improve the visual environment by optimal light distributions and intense illumination levels of a interior. Also, The photovoltaic is one of the most important sustainable technologies appliable to architectures. This study aims to evaluate the performance of photovoltaic integrated lightshelf system. For the study, the 1/5 scaled office models were made and the field tests were experimented under clear sky conditions. The power ratio has been analyzed to evaluate the performance of photovoltaic integrated lightshelf system. As results, the power performance was high on photovoltaic lightshelf installation angle $0^{\circ}$. And the performance was reduced on 23(%) by installation angle $15^{\circ}$ and 63(%) by installation angle $30^{\circ}$.

  • The micro needle means the ultrafine probe of 'Probe Card'. The size of micro needle is so minute that it is difficult to minute that it is difficult to inspect it with eyes. On the other hand it is very critical if there is a defect in micro needle of probe card. In this study, we developed an automatic visual inspection system for finding defect status in probe angle, tip length and diameter. Through the experimental results, we could find that our proposed method is better than human-eyes inspection method in accuracy and inspection speed, and also in robustness to lighting circumstances.
