  • With the increasing concerns on noise and vibration in hydraulic fluid power systems, it is important to find better way to reduce noise and vibration. In this study, the authors survey former researches on hose(viscoelastic tube) modeling in advance. And a summary of several existing methods for measuring the speed of sound in the fluid in pipes is presented. Their basic principles, advantages and limitations are compared. And The authors suggest a far simple identification procedure to obtain wave speed in hose by just using an experimental pressure data for the object tube with hose. In the new procedure, flow in hose is basically modeled by transfer matrix method, and wave speed in hose is obtained as data in frequency series. The wave speed in hose as data in frequency series will be used to compute the pressure pulsation attenuation in hydraulic pipe systems. The computed results are compared with the experimental ones, and the validity of the new procedure to obtain wave speed in hose is confirmed

  • Characteristics diffusion time of viscoelastic fluids are determined experimental results of terminal velocity by using the falling ball viscometer. The characteristics diffusion time of viscoelastic fluids are determined with help of the sphere device which is installed to return the dropped sphere from the bottom of the test cylinder without disturbing the working fluids. Terminal velocity of th sphere the reason why experimental of characteristics diffusion time that it is have an effect on the time interval of the measuring. Viscous of the fluid the temperature changed in order to have an effect on temperature and terminal velocity of the ball it becomes larger the possibility of knowing. A result of visualization for flow phenomena of around the sphere uses the PIV and the density of the polymer solution which it appears 2000wppm is to a case which is the right and left becomes symmetry to be it will be able to confirm and according to the time interval, to observed velocity vector of same at first drop the sphere.

  • The relaxation spectra of polyacrylonitrile-poly(vinyl chloride) copolymer filament fibers were obtained by applying the experimental stress relaxation curves to the theoretical equation of relaxation spectrum. The theoretical equation of relaxation spectrum was derived from the Ree-Eyring and Maxwell model. The experimental of stress relaxation was carried out using a tensile tester with a solvent chamber. The determination of relaxation spectra was performed by computer calculation. From the relaxation spectra, the fine structures, viscoelastic properties and hole volumes of solid polymers were studied. It was observed that the relaxation spectra of these samples were directly related to the distribution of molecular weights and self diffusions of flow segments.

  • In the accompanying paper, part I, we have presented the physical modeling and the associated numerical analysis of injection molding process with a compressible viscoelastic fluid model. In part II, the effects of compression stage in the injection/compression molding process are presented. Numerical results showed that the injection/compression molding process reduced birefringence as compared with the injection molding process. In this respect, one can conclude that the injection/compression molding process is more suitable for manufacturing the precise optical products than the injection molding process. In the distribution of birefringence, the effect of packing procedure in injection/compression molding process was found to be similar to that in injection molding process. From the numerical results, we found that birefringence becomes smaller as the melt temperature gets higher and the closing velocity of the mold gets smaller with the flow rate and the mold temperature affecting the birefringence insignificantly. As far as the distribution of density is concerned, the flow rate, the melt temperature, and the closing velocity of the mold had insignificant effect on the distribution of density in comparison with the mold temperature.

  • The present study attempted to numerically simulate the process in detail by developing an appropriate physical modeling and the corresponding numerical analysis for precision injection and injection/compression molding process of center-gated disk. In part I, a physical modeling and associated numerical analysis of injection molding with a compressible viscoelastic fluid model are presented. In the distribution of birefringence, the packing procedure results in the inner peaks in addition to the outer peaks near the mold surface, and values of the inner peaks increase with the packing time. Also, values of the density in the core region increase with the packing time. From the numerical results, we also found that birefringence becomes smaller as the melt temperature gets higher and that it is insignificantly affected by the flow rate and the mold temperature. As far as the density distribution is concerned, mold temperature affected the distribution of density especially near the wall. But it was not significantly affected by flow rate and melt temperature. Numerical results of birefringence coincided with experimental data qualitatively but didn't quantitatively.

  • The self diffusion distributions of viscoelastic molten polyurethanes were determined from the relationship between the relaxation spectra and the distribution of self diffusion. The relaxation spectra of ester, PCL and PCL dyed type molten polyurethanes were obtained by applying the experimental stress relaxation curves to the theoretical equation of the Ree-Eyring and Maxwell non-Newtonian model(REM model) from computer calculation. The experiments were carried out at various temperatures using the physica rheometer with the temperature controller. The self diffusion and hole distance of amorphous region of polyurethane samples were investigated by experiments of stress relaxation. The diffusion coefficients and hole volumes were calculated from rheological parameters and crystallite size in order to study the diffusion of flow segments in amorphous region. It was observed that the relaxation spectra and self diffusions of these polymer samples are directly related to the distribution of molecular weights, viscosities, hole volumes and activation energies of flow segments.

  • The average diffusion time of a polyacrylamide solution was determined by measuring the terminal velocities of the falling balls. The diffusion time increased as the polyacrylamide concentration increased. The PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) system was employed to visualize the flow phenomena around balls. For a time interval of 30 seconds in the 2000 wppm, velocity vectors were larger than in case of 0 seconds, 40 seconds and 50 seconds in the falling ball. However, in the Newtonian fluid, flow vsualization around balls were performed at both upstream and downstream of the falling ball.

  • Materials of the Frame hole in fishing trackle reel is made up a number large and small holes. Thus, it is difficult to effective machining. Abrasive flow machining(AFM) is useful to polish a internal or external surface of the 3-dimensional shape parts, which are used in many fields such as aerospace, automative, semi-conductor, and medical component industries. The machining process is that two hydraulic cylinders, which are located face to face, enforce abrasive media to the passage between workpiece and tooling parts alternately, and then the abrasives include in the media pass the passage and polish the surface of workpiece. The media which is made of polymer and abrasives plays the role of the tool for deburring or polishing complex shap workpiece by its viscoelastic characteristics. In this study, the abrasive media for abrasive flow machining was made by mixing viscielastic polymer with alunina and silicon carbide abrasive. Also, we present AFM device design and preliminary results of an investigation in to some aspects of the AFM process performance in fishing trackle reel.
