  • The purpose of this study is to derive implications for improving related policies and evaluation criteria in the future by analyzing trends of evaluation criteria for industry-university cooperation in Korea. For this purpose, five surveys on industry-university cooperation by government departments, major general university evaluations, and evaluation indicators of specialized industry-university evaluations by the Ministry of Education were analyzed. As a result, most of the evaluation criteria for domestic industry-university cooperation have been composed of quantitative indicators and have a limited character as quantitative performance management for government projects. Although the Ministry of Education's evaluation criteria for industry-university cooperation projects has gradually changed to a segmented index considering universities, industries, and regions, it needs to be supplemented for sustainability of industry-university cooperation. In order to promote sustainable industry-university cooperation in the future, it was suggested that first, it is necessary to supplementation of qualitative Indicators considering each university's characteristics, second, the composition of indicators related to reflect on demand in the process of the cooperation, and third, to build a virtuous cycle system for future operation of evaluation criteria.

  • This study analyzes the interaction of variables consisting of the local finance system based on the theory of system thinking regarding how financial decentralization can be understood as the political means for local decentralization and why it is needed. The results gained from this research are as follows: first, variables consisting of the local finance system form interactional relationship in the significant level, and it has been found that rapid growth and rapid decline repeat with five positive feedback loops as the center. Second, strategic points for the validity of local finance decentralization were discovered through causal map modeling. In particular, it has been shown that the virtuous cycle structure declines the local finance system through the constant operation of variables (government subsidies, taxation for real estate transactions, central government's local finance mediation system, and local government debt, etc.) that deteriorate the vicious cycle structure. Based on this, strategic policy tasks were drawn. It is expected that this study will help the understanding of the local finance system and increase academic width for local finance from the aspects of general knowledge, not the knowledge about local finance decentralization.

  • Construction projects generate a massive amount of diverse information. It takes at least five years to more than 10 years to complete, so it is important to manage the information on a project's history, including processes and costs. Furthermore, it is necessary to determine if construction projects have been carried out according to the planned goals, and to convert a construction information management system (CALS) into a virtuous cycle. It is easy to ensure integrated information management in private construction projects because constructors can take care of the whole process (from planning to completion), whereas it is difficult for public construction projects because various agencies are involved in the projects. A CALS manages the project information of public road construction, but that information is managed according to CALS subsystems, resulting in disconnected information among the subsystems, and making it impossible to monitor integrated information. Thus, this study proposes integrated information management measures to ensure comprehensive management of the information generated during the construction life cycle. To that end, a CALS is improved by standardizing and integrating the system database, integrating the individually managed user information, and connecting the system with the Dbrain tool, which collectively builds artificial intelligence, to ensure information management based on the project budget.

  • The book of Sa So Jeol is about the moral training family precepts written by Yi Deok-mu (이덕무, 1739~1793) in the year of king Young Jo 51th in the Yi dynasty. The writer provides us, according to the views of Confucianists, with the principles that both elders and children of that time should abide by in the daily life, dividing the said books into 924 sections, 8 chapters, and 2 volumes. The parts concerned with children are studied in this essay. The brief conclusions are as follows. 1. Children were required to have the mental attitudes of honesty, patience, tolerance and frugality and were instructed to show such attitudes through their behavior. 2. Children were instructed to have the behavioral attitudes of nine aspects, which are the behavioral characteristics of the sages. They were instructed to emulate the personal characters of the sages through being possessed of these nine aspects, which are to be found in healthy and comfortable mental states. 3. Children were instructed to be careful and composed, in their activities. Since prudence is the basic principle of mental and behavioral attitudes, being required of men and women of all ages in a traditional society, it was emphasized from early childhood 4. The aim of instruction was taken to be becoming human, or becoming a virtuous man, rather than merely passing the classical government examamination, and for this aim the moral rules, which can be considered the order of human relations, were taught intensively. 5. As for instructional methods, the children were required to do careful or rough reading according to their abilities, and were instructed to listen to lectures politely, prudently, ardently and honestly. 6. The instructional contents are for the purpose of making children read the classical canons after increasing their perceptive ability in the various things of the sexagenary cycle, the multipicative method, the kings, lineage, and the reign-titles, and the accumulated knowledge of $\ulcorner$Kyung Mong Yo Kyul$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Seong Hak Jeop Yo$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$Keun Sa Lok$\lrcorner$. Because of the greater emphasis on natural talents rather than on acquired abilities, the children, however, were eudcated only after their despositions were examined. 7. The children were required to have warm-hearted, careful, polite, and prudent attitudes toward their elders, and were instructed to take precauticns against arrogance and impoliteness. Since politeness in particular was considered not only as the ground of decorum but the method of emotional regulation and maintaining composure for confucianists, it can be regarded as the principal ettiquettee demanded in all activities. 8. The main instructional contents are generally moral aspects, concentrating on introspection and virtuous conduct through emotional regulations, rather than on the natural expression of physical and mental states.

  • Purpose - A business ecosystem refers to mutually dependent systems interconnected by a loose foundation of various ecosystem members such as customers, suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders. The ecosystem-based strategy attempts to achieve competitive advantage for firms by enriching a business ecosystem or building a sustainable business ecosystem through the collaboration and co-evolution of its members. A sustainable business ecosystem is a source of competitiveness for firms anda manageable resource for gaining a competitive advantage. Customers represent the core membership of the business ecosystem and play a pivotal role in building a sustainable business ecosystem. This study examines the effects of customer participation on economic and social value in the business ecosystem and suggests a course of action for building a sustainable business ecosystem. Research design, data, and methodology - Two business cases of South Korea are selected from two different business types: business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-customer (B2C) firms. Business ecosystems for B2B and B2C firms reflect contrasting characteristics. Data was collected from in-depth interviews with four representatives of four firms. Results - The study suggested seven propositions for the relationships between customer participation and a sustainable business ecosystem through multiple case studies based on in-depth interviews. The results reveal the following four strategic actions for building sustainable business ecosystems based on the suggested propositions: alignment, systemization, socialization, and co-evolution. Alignment refers to achieving a harmonic balance or virtuous circle among the firm's mission, investment, and value creation. Systemization refers to building and implementing management and infrastructure systems rooted in the corporate culture. Socialization of customers in the business ecosystem reinforces the harmony or virtuous cycle. Finally, co-evolution is associated with the relationship between firms and customers as buyer firms in a restricted business ecosystem. Conclusions - This study considers multiple cases for the execution of a sustainable business ecosystem in collaboration with customers and suggests seven propositions and four strategic actions. The results are based on qualitative data from interviews with business associates from two firms in an open business ecosystem and two firms in a restricted business ecosystem, both in South Korea. Our research results regarding two contrasting business ecosystems shed light on business issues and policy making in Asian business environments, which are in the transition stages from a traditional conglomerate-driven to an inclusive growth-driven economy. The business ecosystem itself should be considered a manageable resource for firms' competitive positions in the market. A customer is a member of the business ecosystem and should thus be viewed not only as a purchasing entity and an object of relationship management but also as a co-creator of value. Therefore, firms should collaborate with customers to build sustainable business ecosystems. For this, firms must create social value, which cannot be created by customers alone, within the business ecosystem. Then, customers participate in a business ecosystem and build it to be favorable to them. Implications for academics and practitioners were suggested.

  • In recent years, the privacy concern for mobile consumers is emerging as the use of mobile application(apps) is growing according to the rapid spread of mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs. To improve privacy protections in the mobile communications and apps, overseas organizations are announcing guidelines and/or checklists for stake holders. Although personal information protection guidelines for application developers have been prepared in the country, efforts to improve consumer privacy capability is insufficient. Thus, in this paper we first scope the app privacy related guidelines in both domestic and foreign affairs, then present the risk factors of privacy invasion by the stage of mobile application use based on the "Privacy Protection Act", offering privacy checklists for consumers. This checklist will enhance the self-management capability of consumer privacy and create virtuous cycle in the mobile ecosystem.
