  • The test method of ASTM E 756 and KS D 0076 to estimate vibration-damping properties is compared. Comparison method depending on specimen support, exciting method and calculation method for loss factor is used. Half-power bandwidth method and vibration decay method is used in the calculation method for loss factor, and Young's modulus is decided by geometric character and density for specimen and resonance frequency. Vibration measurement sensor is compared by using non-contact displacement detector, velocity detector and accelerometer. This paper is also presented the matter which is able to cause error in the measurement

  • Stick-slip of belt-pulley system produces vibration which results in the noise problem. Experimental study was carried out to investigate the phenomenon of stick-slip with simple v-belt system. The optical displacement sensor detected the vibration caused by the stick-slip of which the frequency was significantly dependant on tension of the belt. The rotation speed of putties also affected the frequency and magnitude of the stick-slip vibration. Existence of misalignment between the driven and drive pulleys made some difference in the stick-slip frequency, but not much. Further study is necessary to identify the generation of noise from the stick-slip vibration.

  • Sand scorpions are nocturnal animals to mostly use tactile senses to detect their prey. It has been reported that sand scorpions have high vibration sensitivity for their prey-localizing behavior. We tested vibration experiments in the sand with microphone sensors to model the sand scorpion's behavior and a time-difference model was applied to find the direction of a vibration source. Using the information of the arrival time of the vibration signal to reach each leg position, we can find the location of the vibration source.

  • This paper deals with the method of vibration measurement of a gun barrel structure using mechanical filter. When a bullet with high speed is moving within a gun barrel type structure with low bending vibration frequencies, it is difficult to measure the bending vibration signals of the structure. For example, noncontact type sensors such as displacement or velocity sensor are not appropriate for the measurement of vibrational signals because of the movement effect of the equipment frame through the moving structures or effect of the ground vibration. One of contact type sensors such as accelerometer is profitable for measurement of vibrational signals because of its wide measurement ranges. In the case of a gun barrel structure including high vibrational signals like shock waves, however, it is necessary to propose vibration measurement method filtering high frequencies. The purpose of the paper is to propose the proper vibrational measurement technique filtering high frequencies of a gun barrel type structure.

  • Pulse tube-type spaceborne cryocooler is widely used to cool down the infrared sensor of observation satellites. However, such cryocooler also generates micro-vibration which is the one of main sources to seriously affect the image quality during its on-orbit operation. Therefore, to comply with the mission requirement of high resolution observation satellite, additional technical efforts have been required. In this study, we proposed a spaceborne cryocooler passive vibration isolator using SMA mesh washer, which guarantees the structural safety of both the micro-vibration disturbance source and itself under harsh launch vibration loads without an additional holding mechanism and the micro-vibration isolation performance on orbit environment. To verify the micro-vibration isolation performance of the proposed vibration isolator, we performed the micro-vibration isolation measurement test using the dedicated micro-vibration measurement device proposed in this study.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to install an RTK-GPS (Real Time Kinematic-Global Positioning System) and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) on a tractor used in a farm to measure positions, pasture topography, posture angles, and vibration accelerations, translate the information into maps using the GIS, analyze the characteristics of grass harvesting work, and establish new technologies and construction standards for pasture infrastructure improvement based on the analyzed data. Method: Tractor's roll, pitch, and yaw angles and vibration accelerations along the three axes during grass harvesting were measured and a GIS map prepared from the data. A VRS/RTK-GPS (MS750, Trimble, USA) tractor position measuring system and an IMU (JCS-7401A, JAE, JAPAN) tractor vibration acceleration measuring systems were mounted on top of a tractor and below the operator's seat to obtain acceleration in the direction of progression, transverse acceleration, and vertical acceleration at 10Hz. In addition, information on regions with bad workability was obtained from an operator performing grass harvesting and compared with information on changes in tractor posture angles and vibration acceleration. Results: Roll and pitch angles based on the y-axis, the direction of forward movements of tractor coordinate systems, changed by at least $9-13^{\circ}$ and $8-11^{\circ}$ respectively, leading to changes in working postures in the central and northern parts of the pasture that were designated as regions with bad workability during grass harvesting. These changes were larger than those in other regions. The synthesized vectors of the vibration accelerations along the y-axis, the x-axis (transverse direction), and the z-axis (vertical direction) were higher in the central and northwestern parts of the pasture at 3.0-4.5 m/s2 compared with other regions. Conclusions: The GIS map developed using information on posture angles and vibration accelerations by position in the pasture is considered sufficiently utilizable as data for selection of construction locations for pasture infrastructure improvement.

고압전동기용 진동 감시 시스템을 위한 특징 파라미터 추출기법 개발 (Development of the Extracting Technique of the Character Parameter for the Vibration Monitoring System in High Voltage Motor)

  • 본 논문에서는 회전체의 특징 파라미터들을 추출하기 위한 센서의 신호들을 수집하는 방법을 연구하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 모형 시험을 수행하기 위한 진동 테스트 리그를 개발하여 정상적으로 운전하에서의 신호특성을 분석하였다. 다른 진동 요소들로부터 주기적인 충격에 의해 발생되는 진동 성분을 추출하기 위하여 포락 신호처리(Envelope FFT Analysis) 기법을 사용하였다. 회전속도에 따른 신호분석과 더불어 회전체의 저주파수 특성을 잘 나타내는 속도센서 및 진동 테스트 리그의 부하변화에 따른 신호를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 베어링 하우징에서 측정되는 가속도 신호는 진폭이 작으며 조화 성분과 모터의 회전주파수 성분만이 발생함을 확인하였다. 즉, 회전수가 높아짐에 따라 가속도의 진폭이 높아짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 회전속도가 증가하면 원 데이터의 형상의 차이가 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 가속도 FFT 그래프와 비교하였을 경우 저 주파수에서 노이즈에 강하며 해당 회전 주파수 성분을 뚜렷하게 나타내었다. 또한 부하를 변화시켜도 주요 회전 주파수 성분이 증가하지 않음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 내부 압력과 압축하중을 받는 발사체 추진제 탱크 구조의 좌굴 하중을 비파괴적으로 예측할 수 있는 기법이 필요하다. 기하학적 초기 결함이 존재하는 단순 원통 구조의 전역 좌굴 하중은 좌굴이 발생하지 않는 범위에서의 고유진동수-압축하중의 상관관계를 이용한 Vibration correlation technique (VCT)을 사용하여 비파괴적으로 예측 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 내부 압력과 압축하중을 동시에 받는 추진제 탱크 구조 형태인 얇은 금속재 단순 원통 구조의 진동 및 좌굴 시험을 수행하였고 VCT를 이용하여 전역 좌굴 하중을 예측하였다. 두께가 얇은 구조의 진동 시험을 위해 스피커를 이용한 비접촉식 가진 방법을 이용하였고 응답은 고분자 압전 센서(PVDF)로 측정하였다. VCT로 예측된 전역 좌굴 하중을 좌굴 시험에서 측정된 좌굴 하중과 비교하여 비파괴적 전역 좌굴 하중 예측 기법을 검증하였다.

  • A study to identify the energized status of the 22.9kV underground power cable by the detection of vibration was reformed. We derived that there exists vibration at double the line frequency in live cables by electromagnetic force. The vibration can be picked up by accelerometer sensor. A prototype was tested on the underground distribution system in Chonan Station, KEPCO. The results are presented and suggest the applicability of the detecting device.

  • A digital signal processor(DSP) is applied to realizing a compensator of control system of active magnetic bearings, to restrict a resonance caused by the first-order bending vibration of a flexible rotor, and to run the rotor beyond the critical speed. A full-order observer is applied to the translatory rotor-motion with the first-order vibration mode. A PID control is used for the conical motion. The rotor used in the experiments is symmetric, and an electromagnet and a displacement sensor are set in collocation.
