Torsional Vibration of a Hollow Shaft Subjected to a Moving Mass (이동질량에 의한 중공축의 비틀림 진동해석)

  • The analysis of a mechanical system, body traveling along the elastic structure, has been a topic of interest. The establishment of analytical method for the development and control of this system is required in the fields of many machine operations such as modern weapons and high-speed feed drive system for a machine tool. The dynamic equations are derived on the torsion of a cantilever hollow shaft induced by the spin-up of a moving mass and the displacement of the mass. Influences of design parameters such as the inertia ratio, the mass moving speed and the friction coefficient are discussed on the transient response of the system.

  • Report on the notion of uncertainty is important. The reason is that the measured value includes a lot of uncertain factors. Reliable results can't be derived without the notion of uncertainty. The mathematical model to evaluate uncertainty considering the quality of vibration is important to evaluate uncertainty, and it must contain the every quantity which contributes significantly to uncertainty in the measured results. In this paper, the evaluation of uncertainty analysis about rotor vibration measurements of machine tools is presented to evaluate the most important factors of uncertainty.

  • The performances of cutting process is mostly affected by the characteristics of closed loop system constructed with machine tool structure, work piece and tools. The chucking system is very important component in this system to hold work piece correctly in various static and dynamic load condition. Therefore, chucking force and accuracy must be considered carefully, from these reason, this paper describes the stability of chucking system which preserve high stiffness and accuracy of machine tool system.

  • The signals that can be obtained from a rotating machine often convey the information of machine. For example, if the machine under investigation has faults, then we can measure the signal which has a pulse train, embedded in noise. Therefore the ability to detect the fault signal in noise determines the degree of diagnosis level of rotating machine. In this paper, minimum variance cepstrum (MV cepstrum), which can easily detect impulse in noise, has been applied to detect the type of faults of ball bearing system. To test the performance of this technique, experiment has been performed for ball bearing elements that have man made faults. Results show that minimum variance cepstrum can easily detect the periodicity due to faults.

  • Rotating equipment seldom fails without notice, so breakdowns can usually be predicted and avoided by watching for signs of failure. In this paper, We study case for rotary machine with a breakdown analysis. Also We analyze the solution of the safety and the future breakdown of the each rotary machine through vibration analysis using measurement data. The implementation of the measurement and the test results are discussed. The result with suggested method showed netter stable Condition Monitoring & Diagnostics.

  • For noise and vibration order-analysis on rotating machinery, it is compulsory to measure the RPM of the rotating part of the machine. Normally the RPM is measured using dedicated tacho-probes. In this paper we describe a new method that in real-time synthesizes a tacho signal from the measured noise or vibration signal thus eliminating the tacho probe. The method strengths and weaknesses are evaluated on practical signals.

  • The necessity of diagnosis of the rotating machinery which is widely used in the industry is increasing. Because vibration diagnosis can avoid sudden breakdown of machine and reduce the maintenance costs. In the factory, Air-Compressor which can affect the performance and capacity of output is important machine. Therefore, in this paper, The measuring and analyzing is carried out for air-compressor in order to the factor of resonance and resonance avoidance for air-compressor. The result of diagnosis and solution is discussed in this paper.

  • In this study, characteristics of impact force and impact sound of impact source such as bang machine, impact ball, and children's jumping were review. Results of review showed that impact ball has most similar characteristic to real impact sources in terms of objective properties such as impact force and impact sound. The effects of various isolator on floor impact sound were also investigated in apartment building and test facilities building using bang machine an impact ball. From the field measurement, it was found that the difference in reduction sound level between bang machine and impact ball was relatively large and the reduction sound level by impact ball was much larger than bang machine.

  • This paper describes a case study on dynamic characteristics analysis of a 5-axis multi-tasking machine tool of ram-head typed. Natural frequency and corresponding vibration modes of the machine tool structure were obtained by using both FEM modal analysis and an experimental modal test(impulse hammer test). Both the theoretical and experiment analysis results showed good agreement with each other. Finally, some discussion and review, from the view point of resonance vibration and/or mode coupled chatter, were made based on the analysis results.

  • In this paper, the magic formula model was applied for a friction damper in a drum-type washing machine. To describe characteristics of the hysteretic damping force, Physical tests were first carried out to get experimental results using an MTS machine. Then, parameters for the magic formula model were determined from the experimental curves. The ADAMS and MATLAB programs were used for the multibody modeling of the damper and process for parameter identification. The model of drum-type washing machine was applied for a dynamic model of friction damper, in which the accuracy of the proposed damper model was verified.
