  • In this paper, a computer simulation method is presented far the dynamic analysis of a hydraulic engine mount system. The hydraulic engine mount system controls the damping characteristics using the viscosity of fluid flow. The complex stiffnesses of the main rubber for the hydraulic engine mount system are computed using a finite element analysis. The equations of motion considering the parameters of the hydraulic engine mount system are derived. To investigate the effects of the hydraulic engine mount system, the computer simulation running over a typical rough road is carried out using a vehicle dynamic model. These results are compared with those of the conventional rubber mount system.

  • Biped humanoids maintain their stability through precise controls during locomotion or operation. Dynamic forces are applied to the humanoid structure during locomotion or operation. If the humanoid has weakness from a structural viewpoint, these forces cause severe deformation or vibration of the structure, which can make the humanoid unstable. In this research, a design scenario is proposed to design a robust humanoid structure under the dynamic loads. The pelvis part is selected for design practice. Multibody dynamics is adopted to calculate the dynamic loads and a structural optimization technique is employed to design the pelvis structures. Since it is extremely difficult directly consider the dynamic loads in the optimization process, equivalent static loads are evaluated from the dynamic loads and the design result are discussed.

  • In order to make a quiet zone, one can consider various methods. Of the methods, this paper deals with the method using control materials such as absorption materials. This method controls sound fields by changing boundary conditions. First, this paper shows that the control material is essentially on the same road as active noise control (ANC) That is, we can consider the control material as the control source of ANC. However we cannot control the source strength. Second, this paper shows that the position of the control material is an important variable by a numerical simulation. And the strategy to optimize the position is addressed.

  • This paper is concerned with the construction of an improved sliding mode control for the active suspension system of a one-wheel car model subject to the excitation from a road profile. The active control is composed of the equivalent and the switching controls where an improved sliding surface is proposed. The active control force is generated by operating a pneumatic actuator due to the control signal that constructed by measuring the state variables of the car model and by estimating the excitation from the road profile using the VSS observer. The experimental result indicates that the proposed active suspension system is relatively effective in the vibration suppression of the car model.

  • In this paper we propose a walking aid system for blind people by exploiting a haptic feedback equipment. The proposed system is a form of haptic feedback cane which is composed of MCU, communication module, sensing module and actuator. The proposed system recognizes obstacles around the blind by using ultrasonic sensors in the sensing module. Moreover, the system generates feedback information about the detected obstacle and then notifies the information to the blind through the actuator. The blind can notice the direction of the detected obstacle with the haptic feedback equipment and vibration motor. Futhermore, the proposed system controls a nearby IoT(Internet of Things) system by utilizing push buttons through the ZigBee communication. Finally, the blind can easily decide the direction of the obstacle without interference of terrain feature by using the proposed system.

  • An immune algorithm is a kind of evolutional computation strategies, which is developed in the basis of a real immune mechanism in the human body. Recently, scientific or engineering applications using this scheme are remarkably increased due to its significant ability in terms of adaptation and robustness for external disturbances. Particularly, this algorithm is efficient to search optimal parameters against complicated dynamic systems with uncertainty and perturbation. In this paper, we investigate an immune algorithm embedded Proportional Integral Derivate (called I-PID) control, in which an optimal parameter vector of the controller is determined offline by using a cell-mediated immune response of the immunized mechanism. For evaluation, we apply the proposed control to mitigation of vibrations for nonlinear structural systems, cased by external environment load such as winds and earthquakes. Comparing to traditional controls under same simulation scenarios, we demonstrate the innovation control is superior especially in robustness aspect.

  • The environment in which we live is changing at an accelerated rate according to the needs of times, concrete structures are increasing daily responding to this advanced lifestyle as a result of demolition and construction. The production of noise and vibration during demolition work on these concrete structures has a major negative influence on the present environment in which we live. As a result, controls on this form of pollution are being strengthened. The aim of this study is to analyze and investigate zero - emission for decrease of environmental pllution in architecture construction field.

  • There are two types of phonetic study, acoustic and physiologic, for differentiating the three manner categories of Korean stop consonants. On the physiologic studies, there are endoscopic, electromyographic(EMG), electroglottographic(EGG) and aerodynamic studies. In this study, I tried to investigate general features of Korean stops using EGG study for the open quotient of vocal fold and baseline shift during speech, and aerodynamic characteristics for e subglottal air pressure, air flow and glottal resistance at consonants. On the aerodynamic study, the glottalized and aspirated stops may be characterized by e increasing subglottal pressure comparing with lenis stop at consonants. The airflow is largest in the aspirated stops followed by lenis stops and glottalized. The glottal airway resistance (GAR) showed highest in the glottalized followed by the lenis, but lowest in e aspirated during e production of consonants, and showed highest in e aspirated, but low in the glottalized and lenis during the production of vowel. The glottal resistance at consonant showed significant difference among consonants and significant interaction between subject and types of consonant. The glottal resistance at vowel showed significant difference among consonants, and e interaction occured between subject and types of consonant. The electroglottography(EGG) has been used for investigating e functioning of e vocal folds during its vibration. The EGG should be related to the patterns of the vocal fold vibration during phonation in characterizing the temporal patterns of each vibratory cycle. The purpose of this study is to investigate the dynamic change of EGG waveforms during continuous speech. The dynamic changes of EGG waveforms fir the three-way distinction of Korean stops were characterized that the aspirated stop appears to be characterized by largest open quotient and smallest glottal contact area of the vocal folds in e initial portion of vocal fold vibration ; the lenis stop by moderate open quotient and glottal contact area ; but the glottalized stop by smallest open quotient and largest glottal contact area. There may be close relationship between the OQ(open quotient) in the initial voice onset and the glottal width at the time of consonant production, the larger glottal width just before vocal fold vibration results in the smaller OQ of the vocal fold vibration in the initial voice onset. The EGG changes of baseline shift during continuous speech production were characterized by the different patterns for the three types of Korean consonants. The small and less stiffness change of baseline shift was found for the lenis and the glottalized, and the largest and stiffest change was found for the aspirated. On the baseline shift for the initial voice onset, they showed so similar patterns with for the consonant production, larger changed in the aspirated. for the lenis and the glottalized during the initial voice onset, three subjects showed individual difference each other. I suggest at s characteristics were strongly related with articulatory activity of vocal tract for the production of consonant, especially for the aspirated stop. The suspecting factors to affect EGG waveforms are glottal width, vertical laryngeal movement and the intrapharyngeal pressure to neighboring tissue during connected spech. So the EGG may be an useful method to describe laryngeal activity to classify pulsing conditions of the larynx during speech production, and EGG research can be controls for monitoring the vocal tract articulation, although above factors to affect EGG would have played such a potentially role on vocal fold vibratory behavior obtained using consonant production.
