  • Optical devices and electronic equipments used in the laboratory of the synchrotron light source building of the accelerator have stringent vibration limits. In order to control the vibration of the building structure and HVAC systems which are main vibration sources are evaluated using experimental modal analysis. Double anti-vibration system is used for the HVAC system and results show that the double anti-vibration system reduces the vibrations of the building to acceptable levels.

  • In accordance with the tendance to construct high-rise apartment buildings, the elevators tend to high speed up and to the drive more frequently. So, the problem of vibration and noise produced by the operating elevator has been treated as an important subject all the more. In this research, the actual levels of vibration and noise which generated and transmitted by the elevator operation in apartment buildings were measured and these characteristics were analysed to examine the countermeasures to be able to reduce the these vibration and noise level, and to design the several vibration and noise control.

  • In the present work, vibration control performance of active camera mount system for unmanned aero vehicle (UAV) is evaluated. An active mount featuring inertia type of piezostack actuator is designed and manufactured. Then, vibration control performances are experimentally evaluated. A camera mount system with four active mounts is constructed and mechanical model is established. The governing equation for the camera mount system is obtained and control model is constructed in state space model. Sliding mode controller which has inherent robustness to external disturbance is designed and implemented to the system. Vibration control performances are evaluated at each mount and center of gravity point. Effective vibration performances are obtained and presented in time and frequency domains.

  • This study includes investigation on sound transmission phenomena through a structural panel including structural vibration and feedback control methodology to minimize the transmission. Focus is placed on finding the relation between vibration pattern and sound transmission, and on finding optimal sensor and actuator location. A simple analog feedback control circuit is designed and implemented to verify the approach.

  • Sound manipulation is to control sound field using multiple sound sources for appropriate purposes. In linear acoustics, a sound can be constructed by superimposing several fundamental sound fields such as a planewave and sphere shape sound field. That is how we manipulate sound field. In this paper, we introduce the theory of sound manipulation and its applications from the examples of the generation of fundamental sound field: a circle, a ring shape sound field and a planewave field.

  • This paper is concerned with the experiments on the dynamic characteristics and active vibration control of plate with piezoceramic sensors and actuators. The experimental frequency response plots can be used to verify the theoretical modeling. The active vibration control was achived by using a single-input single-output positive position feedback controller. Theoretical analysis will follow.

  • Front-back vibrations of high-speed elevator need to be suppressed as in the case of lateral vibrations. The dynamic model for the front-back vibrations is different from the lateral vibration model since the supporting structure varies. In this study, a dynamic model was derived using the energy method. Based on the free vibration analysis, it was observed that the fundamental frequency for the front-back vibration is slightly lower than the fundamental frequency of the lateral vibration, which means that the active vibration control should be carried out in both directions. The PPF control algorithm was applied to the numerical model under measured rail irregularities. The numerical results show that the active vibration control of elevator front-back vibration is also possible.

  • The conventional methods for noise control attempts to simply reduce the level of product noise. This has been common practice in noise control industry. However, it is very straightforward common sense that we have consider human perception on noise. In this paper, we propose a noise control strategy which takes into account the subjective perception of product noise. We especially has concentrated on a refrigerator noise. The proposed method is composed of 3 steps. Firstly, the actual refrigerator noise signal is measured. Then, to make the sample noise set for subjective assessment the noise signal is edited in 1/3 octave bands. Finally, we establish a strategy of refrigerator noise control by using the results from subjective assessment of these noise signals

  • The pneumatic isolator is widely adopted for anti-vibration of precision measuring and manufacturing equipments. But, when the precision demand on anti-vibration is extreme or the load is moving, the performance of anti-vibration can not meet satisfaction. In these cases, as a complementary, active vibration suppression system can be added for advanced performance. In this paper, an active control system is presented, which uses electromagnetic actuators for vibration suppression. The anti-vibration characteristic of pneumatic isolator is analyzed for system modeling and actuator specifying. The modeling and the 3D dynamic simulation is performed for control system design. For the electromagnetic actuator design, the magnetic flex density and the current-force characteristic analysis are achieved.
