  • The transmission control method of small forklift is classified into pilot control method and direct control method. In pilot control method, the hydraulic circuit which consists a lot of components is very complex so the production process is too costly and time consuming. The direct control method contains fewer components that can be configured to simple hydraulic circuit. It has more advantages because the shift sensitivity of transmission is changed easily via the input profile. In this paper, the controller design and the input profile for system are studied to apply to the direct control method. The input profile consists of Fill section, Hold section and Ramp section. The characteristic of each section is obtained through experiment. As the result, the shift sensitivity and starting performance are effected by Fill section and Hold section.

  • We present the high-resolution spectrum of the S-type symbiotic star V455 Sco obtained with the Dupont telescope in 2014 June. We note that the Raman-scattered O VI ${\lambda}1032$ at $6825{\AA}$ exhibits a triple-peak profile. Adopting an accretion disk model with an additional contribution from a collimated bipolar outflow, we attempt to fit the profile. We propose that the blue and central peaks are formed via Raman-scattering of O VI line photons from the accretion flow and that the bipolar flow is responsible for the remaining red peak. It is also noted that V455 Sco exhibits the Raman-scattered He II features blueward of $H{\alpha}$ and $H{\beta}$.

  • The achievable machining accuracy depends upon the level of the micro-engineering, and the dimensional tolerances in the order of 10nm and surface roughness in the order of 1nm are the accuracytargets to be achieved today. Suchrequirements cannot be satisfiedby the conventional machining processes. Single point diamond turning is one of the new techniques which can produce the parts with such accuracy limits. The aims of this thesis are to get a better understanding of the complex cutting process with a diamond tool and, consequently, to develope a predicting modelof a turned surface profile. In order to predict the turned surface profile, a numerical model has been developed. By means of this model, the influences of the cutting conditions, the material properties of the workpiece, the geometry of the cutting tool and the dynamic behaviour of the lathe and their influences via the cutting forces upon the surface roughness have been estimated.

  • The purposes of the study were 1) to segment the female apparel market based on clothing benefits sought by female adualt consumer in Cheju, and 2) to develop a profile of each segment concerning lifestyle, use of information sources, perceived store attributes, store preference and demographics. The data(n=228) were collected via a questionnire from adult females of ages over 20's. Using cluster analysis on benefits sought factors, four groups were identified and labeled as 1) Economic-value oriented users of clothing(24%) : 2) Brand oriented users of clothing(14%); 3) Aesthetics/fashion oriented users of clothing(26%); 4) Easy care oriented users of clothing(36%). ANOVA and Chi-square statistics revealed significant differences among the four groups according to clothing benefits sought factors, lifestyle factors, use of information sources, store attributes perceived on store types, store-type choices, new store-type preferences and demographic variables. A profile of these groups was developed.

  • In this paper, we propose power t distribution based on t distribution. We also study the properties of and inferences for power t model in order to solve the problem of real data showing both skewness and heavy tails. The comparison of skew t and power t distributions is based on density plots, skewness and kurtosis. Note that, at the given degree of freedom, the kurtosis's range of the power t model surpasses that of the skew t model at all times. We draw inferences for two parameters of the power t distribution and four parameters of the location-scale extension of power t distribution via maximum likelihood. The Fisher information matrix derived is nonsingular on the whole parametric space; in addition we obtain the profile log-likelihood functions on two parameters. The response plots for different sample sizes provide strong evidence for the estimators' existence and unicity. An application of the power t distribution suggests that the model can be very useful for real data.

  • In this paper, an in-flight prediction method of thrust profiles for solid rocket motors is proposed. Actually, it is very difficult to have detailed information about the performance of the rocket motors beforehand because it is quite sensitive to combustion environments. To overcome this problem, we have developed an algorithm for generating in-flight prediction of rocket motor performance in realistic environments via a reference burnback profile and accelerations measured at a short time-interval just after launch. The performance is evaluated through a lot of flight test results.

  • Total auricular reconstruction with autogenous tissue remains one of the greatest technical challenges for reconstructive plastic surgeons because of the ear's complex morphology with delicately convoluted cartilages and very thin skin. In a successfully created ear, a natural three-dimensional illusion visualized from the patient's profile, frontal, and posterior views is crucial. Accordingly ear framework should have adequate lateral aspect as well as suitable frontal aspect even before being lifted to this purpose. For this goal, rib cartilage should be harvested from three-dimensionally adequate area. It is the most essential point in framework fabrication that the baseblock should have semi-cup curvature via multiple parallel cuts made on its medial surface. Between January 1999 and May 2003, we performed 29 cases of total ear reconstruction with autogenous rib cartilage graft using this scoring technique and obtained satisfactory results, which showed more natural appearance visualized from the patient's profile, frontal, and posterior views.

  • We present a multi-tap microwave photonic filter with high selectivity through applying time-to-frequency mapping and optical frequency comb shaping techniques. When arranged in the time-to-frequency mapping stage, by a Fourier transform, the deviation of the optical taps to the target profile is significantly reduced while maintaining the apodization profile, resulting in high sidelobe suppression in the filters. By applying a simple time-to-frequency mapping stage to the conventional optical frequency combs, we demonstrate a substantially enhanced (>10dB) sidelobe suppression, resulting in filter lineshapes exhibiting a significantly high (>40dB) main lobe to sidelobe suppression ratio. These results highlight the potential of the technique for implementation in various passband filters with high sidelobe suppression.

  • Since the beginning of the human world, man has tried to prove his presence on the earth. Wherever he moved, he left his marks in different forms. Whether he lived in caves, in open spaces or in-built structures, he left evidence in art form, the earliest of which are the cave paintings found in various regions of the world. These transformed into open spaces where man carved and painted images and writings on rock faces and boulders. Although Pakistan provided an early home to such art forms, they have been discovered in Kashmir for the first time and will be revealed in this paper. In the present survey, a great number of rock art sites were found and documented in detail. These rock art sites display the earliest communities who settled down or traveled through the region, highlighting their thoughts, beliefs and practices. The tentative chronology of these rock art sites ranges from Neolithic to Hindu periods, creating an interesting mosaic in the historic profile of Kashmir.

  • Background: Oral tolerance is defined by the inhibition of immune responsiveness to a protein previously exposed via the oral route. Protein antigens exposed via the oral route can be absorbed through the mucosal surfaces of the gastrointestinal tract and can make physical contact with immune cells residing in the intestinal lamina propria (LP). However, the mechanisms of oral tolerance and immune regulation in the intestines currently remain to be clearly elucidated. Methods: In order to determine the effect of oral protein antigen intake (ovalbumin, OVA) on the intestinal LP, we assessed the expression profile of the T cell receptor and the co-receptors on the cells from the intestines of the tolerant and immune mouse groups. Results: We determined that the proportion of OVA-specific B cells and ${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells had decreased, but the CD8${\alpha}{\beta}$ and D8${\alpha}{\alpha}$ T cells were increased in the LP from the tolerant group. The proportion of CD8+ T cells in the spleen did not evidence any significant differences between treatment groups. Conclusion: These results indicate that CD8+ T cells in the intestinal LP may perform a regulatory role following antigen challenge via the oral route.
