복잡지형의 대기확산모델 비교 (Comparison of Complex Terrain Dispersion Models)

  • Six complex terrain dispersion models recommended by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency were investigated using a hypothetical case in which a plume approaches complex terrain. The six models considered were Valley, CTSCREEN, COMPLEX 1, SHORTZ, RTDM, and CTDMPLUS, the latter four being closely studied. Highest concentrations were predicted for 48 receptors and plume behaviors were compared for stable and unstable meteorological conditions. Under stable conditions, ground-level concentrations were determined by the height of the plume centerline above the terrain. The concentrations estimated by SHORTZ and COMPLEX I were higher than those estimated by CTSCREEN, with CTDMPLUS predicting the lowest concentrations. In particular, the height of the lift midpoint, as well as the co.nterline of the plume, are important in the model calculation of CTDMPLUS. Under unstable conditions, the vertical dispersion plays a key role in determining ground -level concentrations. For this case, concentrations predicted by CTDMPLUS were the 'highest, whereas those predicted by SHORTZ were the lowest. Concentration distributions predicted by CTDMPLUS are quite similar to typical Gaussian distributions even on complex terrain, except for a slight shift of the plume centerline due to the of(tract of the geostrophic wind. In addition,24-hour average concentrations were estimated for comparison with results from the Valley model. Among the four models studied closely, CTDMPLUS predicted the lowest 24-hour average concentrations, but the concentrations estimated by Valley were lower than those estimated by CTDMPLUS.

  • An experimental study was carried out to study the solid-liquid mixture upward flow in a vertical and inclined annulus with rotating inner cylinder. Lift forces acting on a fluidized particle plays a central role in many importance applications, such as the removal of drill cuttings in horizontal drill holes, sand transport in fractured reservoirs, sediment transport and cleaning of particles from surfaces, etc. Field measurements have revealed that the pressure drop over a borehole during drilling of a slim oil well or a well with a long reach can depend significantly on the rotation speed of the drill pipe. An accurate prediction of the annular frictional pressure drop is therefore important for conditions where the annular clearance is small. Effect of annulus inclination and drill pipe rotation on the carrying capacity of drilling fluid, particle rising velocity, and pressure drop in the slim hole annulus have been measured for fully developed flows of water and of aqueous solutions.

타워크레인 기초설계 및 안정성 검토 모델 (Tower Crane Foundation Design and Stability Review Model)

  • Tower crane is a large construction equipment which is extremely tall for its section when it is erected, with its high slenderness ratio, and it has a heavy load by itself due to large lifting stuff to handle. In line with the construction projects in these days which increasingly tend to become higher, larger and complex, the stuff and height subject to lifting are also getting larger and higher, which has also increased the risk of disastrous accidents. A stable foundation design thus to deal with the increasing self load becomes more important. When a typhoon Maemi swept the nation in 2003, as many as 43 tower cranes fell down or collapsed, causing a severe damage to the people and the properties. Considering such fatal damages, a technical evaluation of the stability to prevent the safety accident with the tower crane must be very crucial. Tower cranes operation in domestic construction sites, in fact, have been simply dependent on personal experience and intuition of the engineers. Particularly when it comes to the foundation design, it mostly depends on manufacturer's recommendation. The study hence was intended to develop the fundamental measures for granting the objective stability, instead of following the individual's experience only. The simulation model recommended in the study is expected to make a good commitment to achieving an effective lifting work as well as preventing the safety accident.

자유수면 밑을 전진하는 세장체에 작용하는 수면흡입력의 추정 (Free Surface Suction Force Acting on a Submerged Slender Body Moving Beneath a Free Surface)

  • In this paper, the steady lift force acting on a slender body moving beneath regular wave systems of arbitrary wavelengths and directions of propagation is considered. The momentum conservation theorem and the strip method are used to obtain the hydrodynamic forces acting on the body and affecting its motions on the assumption that the body is slender. In order to obtain the vertical steady force acting on it, or the free surface suction force, the second-order hydrodynamic forces caused by mutual interactions between the components of the first-order hydrodynamic forces are averaged over time. The validity of the method is tested by comparison of the calculated results with experimental data and found to be satisfactory. Through some parametric calculations performed for a typical model, some useful results are obtained as to the depth of submergence of the body, wavelengths, directions, etc.

휠-다리 로봇의 장애물극복 모션 계획 및 제어 방법 (Motion Planning and Control of Wheel-legged Robot for Obstacle Crossing)

  • In this study, a motion planning method based on the integer representation of contact status between wheels and the ground is proposed for planning swing motion of a 6×6 wheel-legged robot to cross large obstacles and gaps. Wheel-legged robots can drive on a flat road by wheels and overcome large obstacles by legs. Autonomously crossing large obstacles requires the robot to perform complex motion planning of multi-contacts and wheel-rolling at the same time. The lift-off and touch-down status of wheels and the trajectories of legs should be carefully planned to avoid collision between the robot body and the obstacle. To address this issue, we propose a planning method for swing motion of robot legs. It combines an integer representation of discrete contact status and a trajectory optimization based on the direct collocation method, which results in a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem. The planned motion is used to control the joint angles of the articulated legs. The proposed method is verified by the MuJoCo simulation and shows that over 95% and 83% success rate when the height of vertical obstacles and the length of gaps are equal to or less than 1.68 times of the wheel radius and 1.44 times of the wheel diameter, respectively.

온도하중과 인양하중에 영향을 받는 모듈러 도로 슬래브 수직연결부의 상세해석 (Detailed Analysis of Vertical Connector in Modular Roadway Slab Under Temperature and Lifting Loading)

  • 교량의 슬래브에 파손이 발생할 경우 슬래브의 보수보강을 위한 공사로 인해 차량 통행이 제한된다. 모듈러 교량의 경우 이러한 시간적 비용을 줄일 수 있는 방법으로서 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 연결부에 높은 응력이 발생하는 모듈러 도로 슬래브를 온도하중과 차량하중을 적용하여 구조해석을 실시하였으며 수직연결부 부근에 나선철근을 매입하여 그 성능을 확인하였다. 또한 인양 시의 모듈러 도로 슬래브의 거동 및 취약부분을 확인하기 위하여 인양하중을 적용한 구조해석을 실시하여 유리한 조건의 인양방법을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 온도하중에 의해 수직연결부가 항복하는 것이 확인되었으며, 나선철근을 수직연결부 부분에 매립할 경우 인양 시에 구조물의 손상이 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 6개 수직연결부를 이용하여 인양할 시 3개 수직연결부 사용대비 50%의 응력을 감소시킬 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다.

트러스형 리프트 게이트의 설치방향에 따른 진동 특성 (Dynamic Characteristics of Truss-Type Lift Gate According to Installation Direction)

  • 본 연구에서는 수문의 설치방향에 따른 최적의 설치방향을 규명하기 위하여, 모형 제작에 의한 수문 진동실험을 수행하고, 진동특성이 연구되어진다. 47.5m 원형게이트가 아크릴을 사용하여 1:31 축척으로 제작되고, 납으로 질량이 보완된다. 먼저 모형을 검증하기 위하여 모형의 고유진동수가 측정되고, 원형 수문의 유한요소 해석 값으로 부터 환산된 고유진동수와 비교된다. 모형은 1.6m 폭을 갖는 콘크리트 수로에서 정방향과 역방향 설치에 따른 각각의 실험이 이루어 졌다. 각 방향 실험에서는 수문 개방고와 상하류 수위에 따른 여러 조건에서 수직진동이 측정되어 졌다. 실험결과를 바탕으로 정뱡향과 역방향 설치에 대한 진동현상을 서로 비교 분석하였다. 정방향 모형은 수문이 많이 열렸을 때 하단부의 수평트러스 부재를 치는 뒤돌아 치는 와류에 의하여 진동이 크게 발생하였고, 작은 개방고에서 suction force에 의한 진동이 발생하였다. 그러나 역방향 모형에서는 이러한 현상이 발생하지 않는다. 마지막으로 95m 수문의 진동실험결과와 본 47.m의 실험결과를 같이 비교하여 평가하였다. 실험결과 여러 실험 조건에서 진동이 작게 측정되는 역방향 배치 모형이 더 합리적인 것으로 분석되었다.

토네이도 블록형 선회류 침사제거기의 침사제거효율 평가 (Evaluations of Grit Removal Efficiency of Tornado Block-Type Vortex Grit Separator)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the grit removal efficiency of tornado block-type vortex grit separator. Vortex grit separator was manufactured for this study, and it was characterized by the impeller and tornado block installed in separator. Impeller was installed to increase water velocity in the separator and tornado block was installed to increase the grit lifting efficiency. Pilot study was also conducted in A sewage treatment plant (STP) in Gyeonggi province from November 2003 to May 2004 (64 days). Major findings are as follows. 1. Impeller was proven to increase water velocity in the grit separator, especially in low flow rate. This influence will increase separation ratio of organics from grits, preventing those organics from sedimentation. 2. Sand (with 0.2~0.3mm size) removal efficiency was over 98 % and 96 %, at the flow rate of $500m^3/day$ and $750m^3/day$ under the condition that impeller rotation velocity kept at 15 rpm. Originally that grit separator was designed to have the capacity of $500m^3/day$. $750m^3/day$ was tried to investigate the performance of this type of grit separator under overload condition. Stable grit removal was still available to the extent of 150% of designed capacity. 3. It took less than 3 minutes for the grit separator to completely lift out 3 kgs of 0.2-0.3 mm sized, settled sand at the bottom to 2,060 mm high above water surface. But it showed the tendency to spend a little more time on lifting the grit as the grit size and the vertical height of the lift increased. 4. During experimental duration in A STP, it was found that the average amount of inlet grit was about 981 g/day (160~1,685 g/day) under $500m^3/day$ of operation condition, but it varied so severely during the experimental duration. After classification of discharged grit according to its size, grit with 0.3-0.42 mm size was found as largest part of output.

선박용 로터세일 주위의 난류 유동특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Analysis Study on the Turbulent Flow Characteristics around the Rotor Sail for Vessels)

  • 국제해사기구(IMO)의 온실가스(GHG) 감축 전략과 같은 환경규제를 강화함에 따라 친환경 선박 및 대체 연료 등 기술 개발이 확대되고 있다. 그의 일환으로 해운사와 조선사를 중심으로 에너지 저감과 풍력 추진 기술을 활용한 선박 추진 기술이 대두되고 있다. 풍력 추진 기술의 확보와 실증 연구를 조선 및 해운 분야에 도입함으로써 친환경 기술을 활용한 고부가가치 시장을 창출할 수 있으며, 운항선박의 연료 소비율을 줄임으로써 연비를 약 6~8 % 정도 향상시켜 GHG의 감축을 기대할 수 있다. 로터 세일(Rotor Sail, RS) 기술은 원형 실린더가 일정한 속도로 회전하여 유체를 통과할 때 실린더의 수직 방향으로 유체역학적 힘을 발생시키는 기술이다. 이를 마그누스 효과(Magnus Effect)라고 하며, 본 연구에서는 선박에 설치된 풍력보조추진 시스템인 RS 주위의 난류 유동특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구를 통하여 추진효율을 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 그래서 RS의 공기 역학적 힘에 영향을 미치는 매개변수로써 속도비(Spin Ratio, SR)와 종횡비(Aspect Ratio, AR) 변화에 따른 양력계수(CL)와 항력계수(CD)를 도출하였고, RS 끝단 플레이트(End Plate, EP) 적용에 따른 RS 주변 유동특성을 비교하였다.
