Characteristics of sleeve-gun arrays installed on the R/V Onnuri were analyzed and compared with survey data. In the case of cluster array, the beam width in the frequency range up to 814Hz is constant as $179.5^{\circ}$, and rapidly narrows in the frequency range of 814-1631Hz. However, in the case of long and wide arrays, as the frequency increases, the beamwidth decreases. The optimal frequency is 69Hz. the main lobe of vertical inclination has its maximum amplitude at phase angle $0^{\circ}$. The optimal frequency of cluster array which produces little side lobe is less than 1631Hz, and those of long and wide arrays are less than 108Hz. As a result, the cluster array produces a good source for high-resolution seismic survey, while the long and wide arrays are suitable for the survey of deep structures. The final high-resolution seismic section with cluster array was compared with that of long and wide arrays.

Experiments were carried out to obtain the effects of nozzle configuration and jet to jet spacing on the heat transfer characteristics of single line of circular water jets impinging on a constant heat flux plane surface. The nozzle configurations are Cone type, Reverse cone type and Vertical circular type, and the nozzle arrays are single jet(nozzle dia. 8 mm), 1 row of 3 jets and 1 row of 5 jets. Jet velocities ranging from 3m/s to 8m/s were investigated for the nozzle to target plate spacing of 80 mm. For the Cone and Reverse cone type nozzle arrays, the average Nusselt number of 1 row of 5 jets was larger than that of 1 row of 3 jets at Re$_{D}$<45000, but that of 1 row of 3 jets was larger than that of 1 row of 5 jets at $Reo\le45000$. For the Vertical circular type nozzle, however, the average Nusselt number of 1 row of 3 jets was larger than that of 1 row of 5 jets at all jet velocities. In the condition of fixed mass flow rates, the maximum heat transfer augmentation was obtained for 1 row of 5 jets and was over 2 times larger than that of the single jet for all nozzle configurations. The nozzle configurations that produce the maximum average Nusselt number are as follows: For 1 row of 3 jets, the Vertical circular type at $Reo\le45000$ and the Reverse cone type at $Reo\le45000$. But, they are the Reverse cone type at Re$_{D}$<55000 and the Vertical circular type at$Reo\le55000$ for 1 row of 5 jets.

Silicon microwire array is one of the promising platforms as a means for developing highly efficient solar cells thanks to the enhanced light trapping efficiency. Among the various fabrication methods of microstructures, deep reactive ion etching (DRIE) process has been extensively used in fabrication of high aspect ratio microwire arrays. In this presentation, we show precisely controlled Si microwire arrays by tuning the DRIE process conditions. A periodic microdisk arrays were patterned on 4-inch Si wafer (p-type, $1{\sim}10{\Omega}cm$) using photolithography. After developing the pattern, 150-nm-thick Al was deposited and lifted-off to leave Al microdisk arrays on the starting Si wafer. Periodic Al microdisk arrays (diameter of $2{\mu}m$ and periodic distance of $2{\mu}m$) were used as an etch mask. A DRIE process (Tegal 200) is used for anisotropic deep silicon etching at room temperature. During the process, $SF_6$ and $C_4F_8$ gases were used for the etching and surface passivation, respectively. The length and shape of microwire arrays were controlled by etching time and $SF_6/C_4F_8$ ratio. By adjusting $SF_6/C_4F_8$ gas ratio, the shape of Si microwire can be controlled, resulting in the formation of tapered or vertical microwires. After DRIE process, the residual polymer and etching damage on the surface of the microwires were removed using piranha solution ($H_2SO_4:H_2O_2=4:1$) followed by thermal oxidation ($900^{\circ}C$, 40 min). The oxide layer formed through the thermal oxidation was etched by diluted hydrofluoric acid (1 wt% HF). The surface morphology of a Si microwire arrays was characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM, Hitachi S-4800). Optical reflection measurements were performed over 300~1100 nm wavelengths using a UV-Vis/NIR spectrophotometer (Cary 5000, Agilent) in which a 60 mm integrating sphere (Labsphere) is equipped to account for total light (diffuse and specular) reflected from the samples. The total reflection by the microwire arrays sample was reduced from 20 % to 10 % of the incident light over the visible region when the length of the microwire was increased from $10{\mu}m$ to $30{\mu}m$.

In this study, an experimental investigation has been made of the applicability of outer-layer vertical blades to real ship model. After first devised by Hutchins and Choi (2003), the outer-layer vertical blades demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing total drag of flat plate (Park et al., 2011) with maximum drag reduction of 9.6%. With a view to assessing the effect in the flow around a ship, the arrays of outer-layer vertical blades have been installed onto the side bottom and flat bottom of a 300k KVLCC model. A series of towing tank test has been carried out to investigate resistance (CTM) reduction efficiency and improvement of stern wake distribution with varying geometric parameters of the blades array. The installation of vertical blades led to the CTM reduction of 2.15~2.76% near the service speed. The nominal wake fraction was affected marginally by the blades array and the axial velocity distribution tended to be more uniform by the blades array.
In the present study, an experimental assessment has been made of the drag reducing efficiency of the outer-layer vertical blades, which were first devised by Hutchins(1). A detailed flow field measurements have been performed using 2-D time resolved PIV with a view to enabling the identification of drag reduction mechanism. In addition, an experimental investigation has been made of the applicability of outer-layer vertical blades to real ship model. The arrays of outer-layer vertical blades have been installed onto the flat side and flat bottom of a 300k KVLCC model. A series of towing tank test has been carried out to investigate resistance (CTM) reduction efficiency with various geometric parameters and installed places of blades. The installation of vertical blades led to the CTM reduction of 1.44~3.17% near the service speed.

This paper established the analytical model of sea surface oscilation of simple type fishing port with vertical wave absorbor. This model is composed by MAEM(Matched Asymptotic Expansion Method) for wave amplification in fishing port and EEM(Eigen - function Expansion Method) for wave absorbing characteristics against vertical perforated plates. Dimensionless porosity by adopting Darcy's law was introduced to evaluate wave absorbing characteristics of the perforated structure. Using the model, the efficiency of the vertical perforated plates was studied for fishing port tranqulity with number of plates, array method and plate intervals. Optimal design and arrangement of perforated plates can be applied to develop multipurpose fishing ports and villages.
In a multiple array of vertical cylinders, flaw patterns are very complex and very interactive between cylinders. The patterns are turbulent and non-linear depending on various factors. The gap and flow incoming velocity of upstream can affect on the downstream cylinder. In this study, the flaw characteristics around two vertical cylinders are investigated numerically and experimentally. As the gap between cylinders is changed at fixed coming velocity, the pressure distributions around cylinders are observed and compared by experimental and numerical approaches. The F.D.M and multi-block method are applied in the study. The pressures at 12 points around the cylinder are measured in the experiment. The results can be applied in the understanding and design of multiple pile array structures.

Two planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) arrays are proposed as an alternative model to generate input and radiation characteristics of two orthogonal oriented circular loops, which has polarization diversity, but inherent mechanical instability of two orthogonal loops, in particular, in installation and operation conditions. Two $1\times2$ PIFA sub-arrays are orthogonally placed on a ground plane and two different feeding networks are applied to control horizontal and vertical radiation current flows for each sub-array, respectively. Equivalence of scattering parameters and radiation patterns between two antennas are validated by the available commercial simulator.
The objective of this work is to elucidate the details of two key factors dominating the droplet buring behavior in sprays : droplet-droplet interaction and convective flow. The combustion of a one-dimensional linear droplet array with a convective flow has been studied. A one-step, second order model was employed to simulate the chemical reaction in the combustion process. Results for droplet arrays burning at two Reynolds numbers, 50 and 100, two horizontal droplet spacings, 5 and 11 radii, and two vertical droplet spacing, 2 and 4 radii, were obtained. The results indicate the droplet burning behavior is affected by Reynolds number, droplet-droplet spacing, and the relative location of droplets in the array. Droplet-droplet interaction was found to be strong for arrays with smaller droplet spacing.
