유체 진동자의 최적 설계 (Optimum Design of a Micro-fluidic Oscillator)

  • A micro-fluidic oscillator is used to control a linear actuator in a dynamic microsystem. The pressure difference at its two output ports causes the linear actuator to move, and it is a standard of judging the performance of the oscillator. The performance can be improved by optimizing the geometry of the oscillator, which has to enable fluid jet to switch at low inlet velocity. For this, in this study the relationship between the pressure coefficient (difference) and geometric parameters is obtained through the analysis using the software FLUENT. From the results the optimized model that maximize the output pressure difference is obtained by using a cyclic coordinate method that is one of optimization methods. As a result not only the performance is improved, but also the working range is more widen.

햅틱인터페이스를 이용한 나노스케일 가상표면에서의 나노리소그래피 (Nanolithography Using Haptic Interface in a Nanoscale Virtual Surface)

  • Nanoscale task such as nanolithography and nanoindenting is a challenging work that is beyond the capabilities of human sensing and precision. Since surface forces and intermolecular forces dominate over gravitational and other more intuitive forces of the macro world at the nanoscale, a user is not familiar with these novel nanoforce effects. In order to overcome this scaling barrier, haptic interfaces that consist of visual and force feedback at the macro world have been used with an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) as a manipulator at the nanoscale. In this paper, a nanoscale virtual coupling (NSVC) concept is introduced and the relationship between performance and impedance scaling factors of velocity (or position) and force are explicitly represented. Experiments have been performed for nanoindenting and nanolithography with different materials in the nanoscale virtual surface. The interaction forces (non contact and contact nanoforces) between the AFM tip and the nano sample are transmitted to the operator through the haptic interface.

  • This paper presents the key idea of handlebar reaction force and pedal resistance force generation in creating life-like feeling in KAIST bicycle simulator. Also, it provides methods to evaluate its reality level with given reaction force profile. In KAIST bicycle simulator, the pedal resistance force and the handlebar reaction force are calculated using the bicycle dynamic model. With the information handlebar angle, rider´s pedaling torque and road profile transmitted from the handlebar system, the pedal system and the visual part, the bicycle dynamics engine calculates the handlebar reaction force and the pedal velocity.   • Recently, magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) material and its devices have been developed and attracted a good deal of attention for their potentials in vibration control. Among them, a highly adaptive base isolator based on MRE was designed, fabricated and tested for real-time adaptive control of base isolated structures against a suite of earthquakes. To perfectly take advantage of this new device, an accurate and robust model should be built to characterize its nonlinearity and hysteresis for its application in structural control. This paper first proposes a novel hysteresis model, in which a nonlinear hyperbolic sine function spring is used to portray the strain stiffening phenomenon and a Voigt component is incorporated in parallel to describe the solid-material behaviours. Then the fruit fly optimization algorithm (FFOA) is employed for model parameter identification using testing data of shear force, displacement and velocity obtained from different loading conditions. The relationships between model parameters and applied current are also explored to obtain a current-dependent generalized model for the control application. Based on the proposed model of MRE base isolator, a second-order sliding mode controller is designed and applied to the device to provide a real-time feedback control of smart structures. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated in simulation through utilizing a three-storey benchmark building model under four benchmark earthquake excitations. The results verify the effectiveness of the proposed current-dependent model and corresponding controller for semi-active control of MRE base isolator incorporated smart structures.

  • 풍력 및 태양광 발전시스템은 화석에너지의 고갈에 대한 대체에너지로 각광을 받고 있으며, 환경오염을 발생하지 않고 무한정으로 사용할 수 있으나 풍속과 태양광의 변화에 따른 안정성의 문제가 발생한다. 풍력발전시스템의 경우 태풍과 급속한 풍속의 변화에 의해 시스템의 안정성 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 풍속을 이용한 피드백 제어를 기초로 하는 자동강풍제어기를 포함하는 풍력 발전시스템을 구성하였으며, 이를 다양한 조건의 실험을 통하여 입증하였다. 태양전지 어레이의 최대 출력을 위한 MPPT제어와 고르지 못한 DC 전압을 정류하기 위하여 buck-boost컨버터를 사용하였고, 실험을 동하여 시스템 출력전류 리플 저감의 결과를 확인하였다.

도시형 순환 열차에서 운전 최적제어 시스템에 관한 연구 (A study of the train traffic optimal control system in a circular metro line)

  • This paper is implemented a control algorithm in order to be stable and minimized to entire train traffic system at delayed case. Signal ing system is described wi th algebraic equations given for train headway, Discrete-event simulation principles are reviewed and a demonstration block signaling model using the technique is implemented. Train congestion at station entrance for short headway operation is demonstrated and the propagation of delays along a platform of trains from any imposed delay to the leading train is also shown. A rail way signaling system is by nature a distributed operation with event triggered at discrete intervals. Although the train kinematic variables of position, velocity, and acceleration are continually changing, the changes are triggered when the trains pass over section boundaries and arrive at signals and route switches. This paper deals with linear-mode1ing, stability and optimal control for the traffic on such metro line of the model is reconstructed in order to adapt the circuits. This paper propose optimal control laws wi th state feedback ensuring the stability of the modeled system for circuits. Simulation results show the benefit to be expected from an efficient traffic control. The main results are summarized as follows: 1. In this paper we develop a linear model describing the traffic for both loop lines, two state space equations have been analyzed. The first one is adapted to the situation where a complete nominal time schedule is available while second one is adapted when only the nominal time interval between trains is known, in both cases we show the unstability of the traffic when the proceeding train is delayed following properties, - They are easily implemented at law cost on existing lines. - They ensure the exponetial stability of loop system. 2. These control laws have been tested on a traffic simulation software taking into the non-linearites and the physical constraints on a metro line. By means of simulation, the efficiency of the proposed optimal control laws are shown.

고유 수용성 신경근 촉진법과 시각 되먹임 기반 관절재현 훈련이 발목관절의 고유 수용성 감각 수준과 한 발 서기 균형 능력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and Visual-Feedback based Joint Position Reproduction Training on the Level of Ankle Proprioception and One-leg Standing Balance Ability)

  • Proprioception training has been considered a secondary method to facilitate postural control ability. This study investigated the effects of two different proprioception training methods - the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and visual feedback-based joint position and force reproduction (VF) - on postural control advancements. Sixteen healthy people volunteered for this study, and they randomly grouped two. Each group participated in the PNF and VF training for three weeks. We evaluated each subject's proprioception levels and balance ability before and after the training. We used a clinometer and electromyogram (EMG) for VF training. The joint position reproduction test was also used to evaluate the position and force aspects of the proprioception level. We analyzed the trajectory of the center of pressure (COP) while subjects were standing on the firm floor and balance board with one leg using a pressure mat. The improvement of the position aspect of the proprioception level of the VF group (4.93±4.74°) was larger than that of the PNF group (-0.43±2.08°) significantly (p=0.012). The improvement of the anterior-posterior COP velocity of the PNF group (0.01±0.01 cm/s) was larger than that of VF group(0.002±0.01 cm/s) significantly (p=0.046). Changes of position error in the PNF group (rho=0.762, p=0.028) and tibialis anterior force reproduction error in the VF group showed a significantly strong relationship with balance ability variables. These results showed that different PNF and VF have different effects on improving two aspects of proprioception and their relationship with the balance ability. Therefore, these results might be useful for selecting proprioception or balance rehabilitation considering the clinical and patients' situation.

ETC 모드에서 Urea-SCR 시스템의 성능 특성 연구 (Study on the Performance Characteristics of Urea-SCR System in the ETC Test)

  • To meet the NOx limit without a penalty of fuel consumption, urea-SCR system is currently regarded as promising NOx reduction technology for diesel engines. SCR system has to achieve maximal NOx conversion in combination with minimal $NH_3$ slip. In this study, the performance characteristics of urea-SCR system with open loop control were assessed in the European Transient Cycle(ETC) for heavy duty diesel engine. The SCR inlet temperaure varied in the range of 200 to $340^{\circ}C$ in the ETC cycle. Open loop control calculated the urea flow rate based on the NOx and NSR map which gave for each combination of SCR inlet temperature and space velocity the normalized $NH_3$ to NOx stoichiometric ratio which resulted in a steady-state $NH_3$ slip of 20ppm. During the ETC cycle, the open loop control with the optimized NSR offset achieved NOx reduction of 80% while keeping the average $NH_3$ slip below 10ppm and maximum 20ppm. It was also found that NOx sensor was cross-sensitive to $NH_3$ and a control strategy for cross-sensitivity compensation was required in order to use a NOx sensor as feedback device.

자기 변형 공진 기구를 이용한 레이저 스캐닝 진동측정기에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Laser Scanning Vibrometer Using a Magnetostrictive Resonant Device)

  • A low power consuming laser scanning vibrometer is studied for its development. For its optical system, a laser interferometer is constructed to use the Doppler effect. In order to reduce the driving power of the scanning system, a small displacement of the scanning system is produced, which is achieved by using a magnetostrictive actuator. A sufficient rotating angle of the scanning system is obtained by using an amplified displacement from the resonant phenomena of a second order mechanical system composed of a mass and spring. The control of the magnetostrictive actuator using a Terfenol-D is performed without using a feedback system to help reduce the power consumption. The vibration analysis is made for the sinusoidal scanning input to have the space domain information from the time domain of the velocity of a vibration object. As a partial work of development of a tow power consuming laser scanning vibrometer, in this work, a scanning system which has the above features is developed and experimentally investigated. For the purpose of the optical system calibration, the vibration measurement for one axis is presented and the future works are discussed.

압전재료를 이용한 복합적층판의 구조제어에 관한 모델링 (Modeling on Structural Control of a Laminated Composite Plate with Piezoelectric Sensor/Actuators)

  • 본 연구에서는 압전 감지기/작동기를 이용한 복합적층판의 진동제어해석을 위 하여 판요소를 사용한 능률적인 유한요소코드 개발에 있다. 운동방정식은 고전 적층 판이론과 Hamilton의 법칙을 이용하여 유도하며 압전방정식으로부터 전기적-기계적 연 계를 고려한 감지식과 작동식을 구한다.각식들은 유한요소 보간함수에 의하여 절점 변위에 대한 행렬방정식으로 변환된다. 요소마다 하나의 전기적 자유도를 가진 4-절 점 12-자유도 판요소를 사용하여 효율적인 계산을 가능하게 하였다. 압전 감지기/작 동기를 도입함에 있어 하나의 전극에 대해 압전 감지기/작동기는 하나의 감지/작동전 압을 갖는다. 각 요소에 전극번호를 부가함으로써 다양한 형상의 전극을 쉽게 모델 링하였으며 전극의 특성도 충분히 고려하였다. 전기적 하중에 의한 압전보의 변형과 변형에 대한 감지전압에 대한 계산을 수행하여 기존의 연구와 비교함으로써 본 프로그 램의 타당성을 확인하였다. 나아가 여러가지 전극형상에 대한 복합재료 평판의 시간 영역과 주파수영역에서 응답을 계산하였다.
