  • This paper considers and implementation of the memory system which provides simultaneous access to pq image points of block(p$\times$q), horizontal vector(1$\times$pq)and/vertical vector(pq$\times$1) in 2-dimension image array, where p and q are design parameters. This memory system consists of an address calculation circuit, address routing circuit, data routing circuit, module selection circuit and m memory modules where m>qp. The address calculation circuit computes pq addresses in parallel by using the difference of addresses among image points. Extra module assignment circuit is not used by improving module selection circuit with routhing circuit. By using Verilog-XL logic simulator, we verify the correctness of the memory system and estimate the performance. The implemented system provides simultaneous access to 16 image points and is 6 times faster than conventional memory system.

  • We propose a more stable robust recognition algorithm which detects faces reliably even in cases where there are changes in lighting and angle of view, as well it satisfies efficiency in calculation and detection performance. We propose detects the face area alone after normalization through pre-processing and obtains a feature vector using (PCA). The feature vector is applied to LDA and using Euclidean distance of intra-class variance and inter class variance in the 2nd dimension, the final analysis and matching is performed. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a wider distribution when the input image is rotated $45^{\circ}$ left / right. We can improve the recognition rate by applying this feature value to a single algorithm and complex algorithm, and it is possible to recognize in real time because it does not require much calculation amount due to dimensional reduction.

  • 3D Graphics accelerator is usually composed of two parts, geometry engine and rasterizer. In this paper, VGE(Vector Geometry Engine) which exploits vertex-level parallelism is proposed. In VGE, Common Floating-Point Unit by adding four-FADD, four-FMUL unit and 128-vector register accelerates geometry calculation. In comparison with SH4, Performance result show that the VGE can achieve performance gain over 4.7 times. To evaluate VGE performance, we make simulator to rebuild Simple-Scalar, general purpose processor simulator. In simulator model, we use Viewperf-benchmark.

  • In this paper, an auto-tuning method for fuzzy controller based on the neural network is presented. The backpropagated error of neural emulator offers the path which reforms the fuzzy controller's membership functions and fuzzy rule, and used for speed control of induction motor. For the torque control method, an indirect vector control scheme with slip calculation is used because of its stable characteristics regardless of speed. Motor input current is regulated by a current controlled voltage source PWM inverter using space voltage vector technique. Also, the scheme of current control fuzzy controller is synchronous reference frame with decoupling term. DSP(TMS320C31) is used to achieve the high speed calculation of the space voltage vector PWM and to build the self-learning fuzz. control algorithm. An IPM is used to simplify hardware design.

  • A simplified model predictive control method is presented in this paper. This method is based on a future reference voltage vector for a three-phase four-leg voltage source inverter (VSI). Compared with the three-leg VSIs, the four-leg VSI increases the possible switching states from 8 to 16 owing to a fourth leg. Among the possible states, this should be considered in the model predictive control method for selecting an optimal state. The increased number of candidate switching states and the corresponding voltage vectors increase the calculation burden. The proposed technique can preselect 5 among the 16 possible voltage vectors produced by the three-phase four-leg voltage source inverters, based on the position of the future reference voltage vector. The discrete-time model of the future reference voltage vector is built to predict the future movement of the load currents, and its position is used to choose five preselected vectors at every sampling period. As a result, the proposed method can reduce calculation load by decreasing the candidate voltage vectors used in the cost function for the four-leg VSIs, while exhibiting the same performance as the conventional method. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated with simulation and experiment results.

  • In order to better perform thermal hydraulic calculation and analysis of supercritical water reactor, based on the experimental data of supercritical water, the model training and predictive analysis of the heat transfer coefficient of supercritical water were carried out by using the support vector machine (SVM) algorithm. The changes in the prediction accuracy of the supercritical water heat transfer coefficient are analyzed by the changes of the regularization penalty parameter C, the slack variable epsilon and the Gaussian kernel function parameter gamma. The predicted value of the SVM model obtained after parameter optimization and the actual experimental test data are analyzed for data verification. The research results show that: the normalization of the data has a great influence on the prediction results. The slack variable has a relatively small influence on the accuracy change range of the predicted heat transfer coefficient. The change of gamma has the greatest impact on the accuracy of the heat transfer coefficient. Compared with the calculation results of traditional empirical formula methods, the trained algorithm model using SVM has smaller average error and standard deviations. Using the SVM trained algorithm model, the heat transfer coefficient of supercritical water can be effectively predicted and analyzed.

  • This paper deals with a novel method in order to analyze the harmonic characteristics in the multi-level inverter. Generally, the magnitude of harmonic components is different according to the carrier PWM techniques, modulation Index(Mi), and the level of multi-level inverter The previous papers analyzed the harmonic characteristics from the viewpoint of the space vector. Hence, the calculation of the harmonic vector becomes difficult and complex in 4-level or more than S-level. However, the proposed method of this paper reduced an amount of calculation and simplified the process of calculation by using the relationship between reference voltage and output phase voltage to load neutral. This paper analyzed the harmonic and it is applied to the multi-carrier PWM techniques in 5- level and other-level of cascaded inverter system.

  • This paper presents an implementation of digital servo speed control system of SPMSM(Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) for industrial application with Direct Torque Control(DTC) using TMS320F2812 DSP. Although, the vector control scheme is adapted in many industrial servo system, but the DSP calculation ratio is increased by reference frame transformation and SVPWM of vector control. Therefore, this paper investigate the possibility of DTC scheme for industrial servo drive system instead of vector control scheme. DSP calculation ratio is compared between vector control and DTC algorithm in addition to the characteristic of speed control response. The suggested SPMSM control system shows the possibility of DTC scheme for industrial servo motor drive system instead of a vector control algorithm.

  • Electric machines such as motors which have rmving parts are designed for producing mechanical force or torque. The accurate calculations of electromagnetic force and torque are important in the design these machines. Electromagnetic force calculation method using the results of Finite Element Method(FEM) has been presented variously in 2-D problems. Typically the Maxwell's Stress Tensor method and the method of virtual work are used. The former calculates forces by integrating the surface force densities which can be expressed in terms of Maxwell Stress Tensor(MST), and the latter by differentiating the electromagnetic energy with respect to the virtual dis¬placement of rigid bodies of interest. In the problems including current source, magnetic vector potentials(MVP) have rmstly been used as unknown variables for field analysis by a numerical method; e. g. FEM. This paper, thus, introduces the two both methods using MVP in 3-D case. To verify the usefulness of presented methods, a solenoid model is chosen and analyzed by 3-D and axisymmetric FEM. It is found that the force calculation results are in good agreement for several mesh schemes.

This algorithm can be used the various fields of ITS applications. Support Vector Machines employed in this paper has been recently proposed as a very effective method for 3D image recognition. And our proposed feature extraction method using the singluar values that directly come from pixels at input images. Consequently, The low calculation load and the high recognition rate in spite of image rotation and various noises are one of merits of proposed method.
