The purposes of this study were to examine the effect of store satisfaction about fashion store and alternative store attraction on switching barrier perception and the moderating effect of variety seeking orientation. The questionnaire was administered to 450 women shopped in a department store in Gwan-ju during September, 12-26,2002. Data collected from 384 women were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA and t-test by SPSS for WIN program. The result were as follows. First, the store satisfaction significantly influenced switching barrier perception. Second, the alternative store attraction significantly influenced switching barrier perception. Third, interaction effect between store satisfaction and variety seeking orientation was found out to be meaningful at switching barrier perception. Fourth, interaction effect between alternative store attraction and variety seeking orientation was found out to be meaningful at switching barrier perception.
The purpose of this study was to understand interrelationships among switching costs, customer satisfaction, and switching intent in a family restaurant. Based on a total of 427 customers obtained from empirical research, this study reviewed the reliability and fitness of the research model and verified a total of five hypotheses using the Amos program. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested simultaneously by using a structural equation model (SEM). The proposed model provided an adequate fit to the data, ${\chi}^2$=137.881 (df=50); p< .001; CMIN/df 2.758; GFI= .947; AGFI= .919, NFI= .965; IFI= .978; TLI= .970; CFI= .978; RMR= .047; RMSEA= .064. The results showed that switching cost (${\beta}$= .123) in a family restaurant had a positive (+) influence upon customer satisfaction. Further, switching cost had a significantly negative (-) effect on switching intent (${\beta}$= -.414). In addition, there were moderating effects related to customer knowledge and variety seeking orientation in terms of the causal relationships between switching costs, customer satisfaction, and switching intent. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
This study analyzed the effects of internet fashion consumer characteristics and shopping motivation on price sensitivity as well as the effect of price sensitivity on negative purchasing behavior. A survey was conducted from August 10 to September 20 in 2012 and 364 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The characteristics of internet fashion consumers were composed of innovation tendency, impulse buying tendency, information orientation, and variety seeking tendency. Shopping motivation was composed of convenient motivation, social motivation, hedonic motivation, product motivation, and economic motivation. The information orientation and variety seeking tendency of internet fashion consumers influenced the price search. The innovation tendency, impulse buying tendency, and variety seeking tendency of internet fashion consumers influenced the price importance. Convenient motivation, hedonic motivation, and product motivation positively affected the price search; however, social motivation negatively affected the price search. The social motivation, hedonic motivation, and economic motivation of internet fashion consumers positively affected price importance. Price search and price importance influenced the purchasing delay; in addition, price search influenced the switching intention. The results of this study provide useful information for customer management and internet shopping mall marketing strategies.
As the competition intensifies and the market matures, marketers are more and more concerned with the relationship marketing. Many of the previous researches have pointed out that not all of the consumers are relationship-oriented. But none of the previous research has systematically investigated this issue. This research investigated the relationship among the three concepts: consumers' intrinsic characteristics, perceived importance of relational benefits, and relationship building intention with the salesperson. In this research the perceived importance of relational benefits is treated as mediating variable in the relationship between consumers' intrinsic characteristics and relationship building intention with the salesperson. The conceptual model in this study can be depicted as follows. From the consumers' perspective relational benefits can be defined as "the additional benefits consumers can receive in addition to core services through the long-term relationship with the service provider." And in this study two kinds of relational benefits are adopted by reviewing the previous research: confidence benefits and social benefits. Relational benefit received from the salesperson is very important to predict consumers' relationship building intention with the salesperson. The more relational benefits consumer wants from the salesperson, the more relationship building intention he/she has. From this point two hypotheses are derived as follows. Hypothesis 1: As the perceived importance of confidence benefit from the salesperson increases, the relationship building intention with the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 2: As the perceived importance of social benefit from the salesperson increases, the relationship building intention with the salesperson increases. In this study four individual characteristics(risk taking tendency, variety-seeking tendency, product knowledge, trust orientation) are hypothesized to influence the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson. And three individual characteristics(interpersonal orientation, price consciousness, trust orientation) are hypothesized to influence the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson. These 7 hypotheses are as follows. Hypothesis 3: As the risk taking tendency increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 4: As the variety-seeking tendency increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 5: As the product knowledge increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 6: As the trust orientation increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 7: As the interpersonal orientation increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 8: As the price consciousness increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 9: As the trust orientation increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson increases. The whole model in this study can be depicted as follows: Data were collected from the 396 consumers who actually trade stocks through the salesperson and were analyzed using structural equation model. The analysis results show that consumers' perceived importance of relational benefits(confidence benefit and social benefit) play the roles of mediating variables in the causal relationship between consumers' inherent characteristics and their relationship building intention with the salesperson. As for the individual characteristics, the influences of variety-seeking tendency, trust orientation, and price consciousness are statistically significant. It was found that variety-seeking tendency has a significant negative effect on the perceived importance of confidence benefit, and that trust orientation has a significant positive effect on the perceived importance of both of confidence and social benefit. Finally it was also found that, on the contrary to the influence direction suggested in the hypothesis, price consciousness has a significant positive effect on the perceived importance of social benefit.

The purpose of the study was to investigate differences in: 1) importance of buying motives including external stimuli and sales promotional stimuli among groups according to levels of diversity orientation; 2) importance of buying motives including external stimuli and sales promotional stimuli among their subordinate factors. Questionnaires were distributed 340 women who aged between 20 and 30. A sample of 317 women responded to the questionnaire. Using SPSS/PC version 12.0, factor analysis reliability analysis, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Repeated measure ANOVA were used for the data analysis. As results, there were significant differences in importance of buying motives including external stimuli and sales promotional stimuli among groups according to levels of diversity orientation. Also, there were significant differences in importance of external stimuli and sales promotional stimuli among their subordinate factors.

Fashion merchandiser profession is a highly information-intensive job. In fact, a merchandiser is to acquire a variety of information mainly from external environment and to analyze it in order to come to an informed decision. Despite a significant amount of past studies on environment scanning, their main concern was of managerial work. And, some fashion design studies have only touched the issue of information source in a descriptive tone. Here, we attempt to analyze empirically fashion merchandisers' environmental scanning activities. Our results can be stated as follows : 1) Though the quality of information source has a positive relationship with its use, the accessibility does not. 2) There is no significant difference between the use of relational source and the use of non-relational source. 3) Internet is being used more at the initial stage(opening) of information seeking than at the orientation and consolidation stage.
Customers of local monopolistic department store can switch their store more easily than ever due to the rapidly changing environment in distribution system represented by multi-store-strategy of large department stores, increase in discount store and growing non-store retailing system. Consequently, local department stores which enjoyed their business with little competition are forced to study and understand the customer switching behavior. This work is intended to understand the switching behavior characteristics of monopolistic local clepartrrent store users. For the end, previous researches are reviewed firstly, then characteristics of store-switching behavior of custorrers amid rapidly changing distribution environment are studied in view of the relations of dissatisfaction factor, switching barrier, switch intention and custorrer characteristics such as shopping orientation, variety-seeking behavior, degree of openess to competition and sociodemographics. Study shows that; 1) dissatisfaction factor is related to customer characteristics (shopping orientation and degree of openess to competition), 2) switching barrier recognition is related to customer characteristics (degree of openess to competition and sociodemographics) and dissatisfaction factor, 3) intention to switch to expected competitor is related to customer characteristics (shopping orientation, degree of openess to competition and sociodemographics) and switching barrier recognition. Accordingly, switch control strategy of the monopolistic local department store facing competitors' entry into market, must be made, specifically, in a way to understand customer characteristics and to make deliberate effort to reduce customer dissatisfaction.

In this study, we suggested the design thinking process that was possible to be introduced in science education and also examined the validity of the process in terms of group creativity. To do this, the design thinking process applicable to science education was selected from a variety of design thinking processes developed abroad, and then the process was modified and supplemented. We created the education program based on the developed design thinking process and applied it to high school students. The results revealed that we could offer the design thinking process through the five stages: 'understanding knowledge', 'empathy', 'sharing perspective', 'generating idea', and 'prototype'. With the results of the application of the program, we could confirm the relationship building and information seeking attributes in the understanding knowledge stage and the user-orientation, relationship building, and interpersonal understanding attributes in the empathy stage. We could also find the organization of the team attribute in the sharing perspective stage and the analytical strategic thinking attributes in the generating idea stage. Finally, the communication and analytical strategic thinking attributes in the prototype stage were confirmed. All of the key attributes of the group creativity found from skilled professionals were not confirmed from the students. However, we could ascertain the possibilities that the students should experience the process of group creativity and learn the relevant values through the developed design thinking process.
This study was conducted to analyze the dietary lifestyle of local Chinese consumers and to classify dietary characteristics according to their dietary lifestyle factors and dietary behaviors. This investigation was conducted for 1 month from 1 January 2017 targeting 300 adult males and females living in China using the online survey company surveymonkey. Four factors relating to dietary lifestyle were identified, gourmet factor, healthy factor, convenience factor and economic factor, and these were grouped into 4 clusters according to their dietary lifestyle factor scores. Group 1, the gourmet economy group, showed a high percentage of living alone and a high frequency of eating out, but a relatively low percentage of three regular meals per day. Their dietary lifestyle was sensitive to gourmet factors and economic factors, but less sensitive to health and convenience factors. Group 2, the wide interest group, contained a high percentage of individuals in their 30s, as well as more highly educated individuals and a higher income than other groups. Because their dietary lifestyle scores tended to be higher than those of other groups, they sought a variety of new foods and gourmet meals for enjoyment of dining and life, as well as well-being food materials and foods related to health. Group 3, the health economic group, constituted a family-type consumer group with lower income level than the other groups. Members of this group were seeking health food and natural food in their dietary lifestyle and tended to pursue a high economic profit ratio when purchasing food. Finally, group 4 showed a relatively higher percentage of women over 30 and individuals with a college level or higher education than the other groups. This group was more interested in health and taste than price and convenience, and showed the highest LOHAS orientation among middle aged Chinese women. Moreover, members of this group directly utilized their knowledge regarding nutrition in real life.
