Diverse epigenetic phenotypes are frequently found during research on transgenic plants. To understand the factors underlying such diversity, hundreds of independent 35S-GFP transgenic N. benthamiana plants were analyzed. The diverse GFP-expression phenotypes of the transgenic plants were classified into three major types based on the GFP expression patterns and their response to 35S-GFP agroinfiltration: steady-green, silenced and non-uniform phenotype. The non-uniform phenotype was further sub-divided into five minor phenotypes: variegated, red-dropped, on-silencing, partitioned and misty, according to the distribution of GFP expression on the leaves. Many of transgenic plants continuously generated diverse phenotypes over several generations despite the transgene identity. Such epigenetic GFP phenotyping was found to be the result of spontaneous transgene silencing mediated by either or both of post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS) and transcriptional gene silencing (TGS). This finding was verified by the detection of 21- and 24-nt small interfering RNA (siRNA) molecules, and DNA methylation in the transgenic plants that showed repeated epigenetic variation. Agroinfiltration demonstrated that irregular distribution of GFP on a leaf was the result of erratic transgene silencing, and the technique also proved to be a rapid and effective method for selecting fully silenced plants within 3 days. Furthermore, two novel phenotypes described are potential materials for in-depth investigations into the genes and mechanisms responsible for spontaneous transgene silencing.

Three cases of hyperparathyroidism are presented from our experience at Presbyterian Medical Center in Chonju in the hope that this will alert us all to the variegated patterns of clinical presentation. In the first case the principal symptom was muscular weakness. In the second a bone cyst (which was part of the syndrome of osteitis fibrosa cystica); and in the third case rib cage tenderness, backache, and persistent epigastric pain. All three had adenomas, but in Case 2 the adenomas were multiple. All three responded to surgical resection and remain well.

The purpose of this study was to develop a risk communication material on artificial food color additives for elementary school students. The development was based on a previous study on the perception and information needs of elementary school students on artificial food colors including that the students usually were interested in artificial food colors, but didn't know about those well, and they wanted to get information on the safety of their intake, function and necessity of food color additives. Based on the above results, a comic book on artificial food colors was developed as a risk communication material for the elementary school students by brainstorming and consultation with experts. The book was titled as 'Variegated artificial food colors! Understanding and Eating'. It contained basic information on food additives focused on artificial food colors including definition, function, calculation of ADI, usage of artificial food colors, quizzes and useful web sites, etc. The results of field evaluation for the developed material by 101 elementary school students were very positive in getting the correct information, understanding artificial food colors and having proper attitude for healthy dietary life. Therefore, the developed material could be used to help elementary school students have proper perception on artificial food colors and facilitate the risk communication on food additives.

In this study, by comparing the development and the space types of local and foreign flexible apartments, basic data will be derived for the development of various flexible types of apartments in Korea. A total of 60 unit plans, including 30 domestic cases and 30 overseas cases of flexible apartments, are analyzed for this study. In terms of the unit plan types, Korean apartments usually had a wide front bay with shallow depth, placing more rooms on the front bay; whereas foreign apartments tend to have various unit plan types: (1) a narrow front bay with deep depth, (2) a wide front bay with shallow depth, and (3) variegated open-plan types. Many apartments in foreign countries had a double-layered structure with the. upstairs and downstairs areas. In terms of the flexible types, many Korean apartments achieved interior flexibility using non-bearing wall or sliding doors; whereas foreign apartments had a flexible space by separating the support elements and the infill elements. There was found to be a close relationship between the location of support elements and the variability of unit plans. Support elements can be placed largely into three locations: (1) Between the front side bay and the rear side bay, (2) in the center bay of a unit plan, and (3) others. Depending on the location of support elements, various types of flexible unit plans can be created. Through a comparative analysis of domestic and foreign apartments, basic data that can be used for developing various flexible unit plans was derived.

This study is the research about the internet marketing strategy and the impact factors of psychological well-being of customers of restaurants. For the purpose of study, firstly, the paper was carried out in order to verify the cause and effect relationships of life satisfaction and psychological well-being of the customers in the food service industry. The customers of restaurants in Busan are the objectives for which the survey for empirical analysis was conducted. The result of the testing of hypothesis showed that life satisfaction will have positive influences on psychological well-being, it reveals that life satisfaction has positive influences on three factors of psychological well-being such as personal growth, self acceptance, independence. However, factor of autonomy is rejected. Secondly, the results of the study suggest the importance of introducing variegated internet marketing programs and deciding the appropriate information contents for the customer to activate the use of hands on restaurants. Internet information contents on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty to have a good understanding of the attitude will improve of life satisfaction and psychological well-being of the customers. Strategic information contents of internet marketing for customers of the restaurants must be consider "CRM(customer relationship management)".

Primary germ cell tumor of the testis is, rare, which occupies 1 to 2% of all reported malignant male neoplasms. Combined primary germ ceil tumor of the testis composed of embryonal carcinoma and seminoma is more rare tumor. The authors experienced a case of 50-year old male who presented with painless enlargement of right testicle. He has had radical orchiectomy and diagnosed by pathologically as combined germ cell tumor of testis. The testicle is measuring 180 gm in weight and $9{\times}6{\times}5$ cm in dimension, and almostly replaced by tumor mass. Grossly the tumor is rubbery solid smooth tumor mass, with variegated cut surface with geographically outlined diffuse necrotic area. Histologically the tumor is composed of two components of tumor, which are solid growth pattern of large round to polyhedral cells with clear or granular cytoplasm and distinct cell border, and anastomosing glandular and papillary arrangement of anaplastic epithelial cells. The former corresponds to seminoma, and the latter to embryonal carcinoma. Each tumor lobule is separated by abundant fibrous stroma.

Xylella fastidiosa is xylem-limited bacterium capable of infecting a wide range of host plants, resulting in Pierce's disease in grapevine, citrus variegated chlorosis, olive quick decline syndrome, peach phony disease, plum leaf scald, alfalfa dwarf, margin necrosis and leaf scorch affecting oleander, coffee, almond, pecan, mulberry, red maple, oak, and other types of cultivated and ornamental plants and forest trees. In the European Union, X. fastidiosa is listed as a quarantine organism. Since its first outbreak in the Apulia region of southern Italy in 2013 where it caused devastating disease on Olea europaea (called olive leaf scorch and quick decline), X. fastidiosa continued to spread and successfully established in some European countries (Corsica and PACA in France, Balearic Islands, Madrid and Comunitat Valenciana in Spain, and Porto in Portugal). The most recent data for Europe indicates that X. fastidiosa is present on 174 hosts, 25 of which were newly identified in 2021 (with further five hosts discovered in other parts of the world in the same year). From the six reported subspecies of X. fastidiosa worldwide, four have been recorded in European countries (fastidiosa, multiplex, pauca, and sandyi). Currently confirmed X. fastidiosa vector species are Philaenus spumarius, Neophilaenus campestris, and Philaenus italosignus, whereby only P. spumarius (which has been identified as the key vector in Apulia, Italy) is also present in Americas. X. fastidiosa control is currently based on pathogen-free propagation plant material, eradication, territory demarcation, and vector control, as well as use of resistant plant cultivars and bactericidal treatments.

Advertising, while providing a linkage between sales and consumption, helps promote rational consumption patterns by expanding the scope of information for consumers facing an ever-increasing array of consumption decisions. In so doing, advertising promotes competition among suppliers and sellers, thereby improving market transparency. Intrinsically, advertising can influence the instantaneous decisions made by consumers, and because of this peculiar feature of advertising, ensuring fair advertising practices is a policy issue of great importance. Concurrently, discerning whether the amount of advertising, which is determined by the profit motive of advertisers, is socially appropriate or whether this amount constitutes a waste of scarce resources is a necessary and indispensable consideration in establishing a public policy to respond to the mounting deluge of advertising. Although the Fair Trade Act and numerous other related laws are being enforced with regard to advertising, it may be difficult to say that a unified, practicable and logical basis for regulating the variegated and complex forms of advertising has been established. This paper examines the various theoretical arguments on the welfare effects of advertising as a rationale to justify regulation from the viewpoint of economics. In this manner, this paper helps define the essential nature of advertising and seeks to present a rational approach toward the regulation of advertising.

This essay is discusses the phase on expression as experimental animation for the tendency of the animation which appeared newly 1960s in Japan by "3 members in animation". In general, experimental animation is contrary to traditional animation. "3 members in animation" tried to present the concept of animation newly with the various trials which overthrow the form of the conventional animated cartoon. Those days, the feature animation of Toei was the mainstream of the cartoon film. When comparing with Yoji Kuri's works, the movement and theme on expression are different. It can be said that the difference is an alternative method to the mainstream. Other members Ryohei Yanagihara and Hiroshi Manabe connected design and illustration with animation. The independent creators participated in the animation festival which "3 members in animation" held. They tried to create animation interchanging with other genres. It can be said that the intermediality seen in their work is trial which sets variegated the object of animation and it expands the possibility of the new animation. Their approach overthrew the traditional tendency and was able to call it experimental animation. Japanese experimental animation in 1960s is the historical starting point of recent independent animation which searched for art in which an original expression has been formed in Japan.

Piezometric head, soil temperature, and redox potential were investigated to identify the factors causing the poor growth of rice in poorly drained paddy soils. 1. In local valleys the variegated piezometric head difference was observed place to place and resulted in uneven growth of rice while nearly uniform head difference was observed in alluvial plains. 2. Direction of water flow in paddy soils seemed to develop a significant difference in soil temperature and plant growth. 3. Negative correlation between piezometric head and rice growth and/or yiled was observed, and yield was decreased with the increase of upward flow of water. 4. There was a positive correlation between soil temperature and rice growth and/or yield. Cold temperature below $20^{\circ}C$ retarded significantly the plant growth and rice plant, at $16^{\circ}C$, could not grow.
