A study on the improvement of Drive circuit in the Power Line Communication (전력선 통신환경에서의 구동회로 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The Channel environment is poor in the power line communication because power line proposed power supply use a communication medium. In this paper, we designed gate drive circuit used coupler reducing the signal diminution for the good communication. We analyzed receiving and transmitting operation of the coupler and designed the drive circuit with the suitable impedance. As a result, we improved the environment of impedance variation due to the inter reaction of many electron products. So, to improve BER(45%) enabled us to communicate smoothly in power line communication.

  • Induction motors. having axial cooling channels in stator and rotor are designed for better cooling performance. Traction motors are one of those examples. And, thermal analysis gain more attention with the Increased demand of the motors, for reliable operation and life prolongation. was Induced to effective thermal conductivity through modeling. Through. fundamental comparison experiment, heat source experiment and transient state experiment, the induction motor using inverter was examined to produce heat source with frequency level and traced to thermal variation at starting and stopping. And thermal analysis using thermal network was compared with a transient state experiment.

  • In orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system (OFDM), rapid channel variation caused by fast moving receiver leads to a loss of subcarrier orthogonality which results in inter-carrier interference (ICI) and receiver performance degradation. In conventional receivers, performance is enhanced by estimating ICI and removing it from received signals. In this paper, an ICI reduction scheme using a time-domain mask and adding is proposed. The proposed scheme is applied to DVB-T receiver to prove the Doppler mobile performance enhancement.

  • SLS crystallization and CMOS LTPS process have been developed for high performance and uniform characteristics. By strictly optimizing SLS optics in conventional 2 shot SLS process, threshold voltage variation of 720 pixel TFTs in 2.2-inch QVGA panel (240xRGB) was remarkably decreased from 1.89 V to 0.56 V of 3sigma value. Mobility of the channel doped NTFT and PTFT for circuits were $146\;and\;38cm^{2}/Vs$, respectively. Functional unit circuits for SOG were also fabricated and properly operated.

  • The pilot tidal current power plant is to be constructed at the Uldolmok between Chindo and Haenam, during next year. and extensive coastal engineering research works have been carried out. In this paper we describes some observation results of the tide and tidal current. as well as modeling work in order to investigate the tide and tidal current regime change in relation to the tidal current power plant (TCPP) construction. The special modeling skill in order to consider the turbine operation in the TCPP is developed and applied to the estimation for the flow regime change by the simple layout of the tidal current power plant.

Hot-Carrier Degradation of NMOSFET (NMOSFET의 Hot-Carrier 열화현상)

  • This study has provided some of the first experimental results of NMOSFET hot-carrier degradation for the analog circuit application. After hot-carrier stress under the whole range of gate voltage, the degradation of NMOSFET characteristics is measured in saturation region. In addition to interface states, the evidences of hole and electron traps are found near drain depending on the biased gate voltage, which is believed to the cause for the variation of the transconductance($g_m$) and the output conductance($g_{ds}$). And it is found that hole trap is a dominant mechanism of device degradation in a low-gate voltage saturation region, The parameter degradation is sensitive to the channel length of devices. As the channel length is shortened, the influence of hole trap on the channel conductance is increased. Because the magnitude of $g_m$ and $g_{ds}$ are increased or decreased depending on analog operation conditions and analog device structures, careful transistor design including the level of the biased gate voltage and the channel length is therefore required for optimal voltage gain ($A_V=g_m/g_{ds}$) in analog circuit.

  • Salinity distribution in estuary and tidal river is presented by many parameters including tidal forcing, river discharge and geographical effect. Understanding the characteristics of salinity structure is very important in the aspect of water-quality, ecological, and engineering viewpoint. Field measurement was carried out to study the distribution of salinity structure at 2 surface stations at Yeomha channel in the Han River estuary. The results of short- and long-term salinity change according to short and long tidal variability is investigated. For analyzing the axial salinity distribution at Yeomha channel, the salinity data from NFRDI is used in this study. The relationship between freshwater discharge and salinity distribution is represented through the nonlinear regression equation. The empirical equation for salt intrusion length scale, including tide, river discharge, and topographical effect is presented. As the comparison of empirical equation and existing data collected in study area, the characteristic of salt intrusion length and salinity distribution is changed by tide, fresh water, and geographical effect.

The Study on the Performance of DS/CDMA with a Suppressed Pilot Channel in Mobile Satellite Communication System (이동위성 통신 시스템에서 억압 파일롯트 채널을 이용한 DS / CDMA의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we have carried out the DS/CDMA with a suppressed pilot channel, which is used in receiving coherently with Rake diversity and in synchronizing the chip timing, in the mobile satellite communication. Also, we have investigated the envelope variation of a shadowed Rician fading simulator, and analyzed the error performences of DS/CDMA in the mobile satellite communication. The results showed that the error performance in the Heavy shadowing environment might be degraded more than in the Rayleigh fading environment since the fading envelopes in the former environment are varied randomly compared with those in the latter environment. And the performence of DS/CDMA system could be improved about 10 dB compared with that of narrowband QPSK system. In conclusion, DS/CDMA with a suppressed pilot channel had the best performance in the case of the suppressed pilot channel to transmission power ratio $\beta$=-8 dB, the number of complex delay profiles $N_{profile}$=32, and using these values, the error performance of DS/CDMA in Light shadowing environment was identical to the ideal QPSK error performance.
