A Study On Steam Turbine Valve Controls In Power Plant (발전소 증기터빈 밸브제어에 관한 고찰)

  • Servovalves are widely used in industrial areas in order to control the position of large steam valves which regulate steam flow to prime mover. We must control the position of large steam valves to regulate flow of working fluids in the process. The small pilot valves are used to regulate the large main valves in case that the pressure of control fluids supplied to servovalves is low about $12kg/cm^2$. But, in case that the pressure of control fluids supplied to servovalves is high enough about $110kg/cm^2$, the pilot valves are not needed and servovalves can control directly the large main valves due to its large working forces. Additionally, the basic structures of armature coil should be different according to the types of control system even in the same servovalve. This paper compares and describes some integral types of flow control.

A Study on Shape Optimization of Electro-Magnetic Proportional Solenoid (비례솔레노이드 형상 최적설계에 관한 연구)

  • There are two types of solenoid actuator for force and position control of the fluid power system. One is an on-off solenoid actuator and the other is an electro-magnetic proportional actuator. They have some different characteristics for attraction force according to solenoid shape. Attraction force of the on-off solenoid actuator only depends on flux density. And the stroke-force characteristics of the proportional solenoid actuator are determined by the shape of the control cone. In this paper, steady state characteristics of the solenoid actuator for electro-hydraulic proportional valve determined by the shape of control cone are analyzed using finite element method and it is confirmed that the proportional solenoid actuator has a constant attractive force in the control region independently on the stroke position. And the shape of control cone is optimized using 1+1 evolution strategy to get a constant force. In the optimization algorithm, control cone length, thickness and taper length are used as a design parameter.

  • When a robot is to have contact with its enviornment, such as a medi-care robot, it would be advantageous for the robot to have a high compliance. For this reason, a robot having not only a flexible link but also an actuator with compliance, is desirable. This paper is concerned with the position and vibration control of 1 degree of freedom flexible robot using a pneumatic artificial muscle actuator. The dynamics of the manipulator assumed to be and Euler-Bernoulli beam are derived on the basis of the linear mathematical modle. Although this pneumatic artifical muscle actuator has many merits for the compliance robot, it is difficult to make an effective control scheme of this system because of ths nonlinearity and uncertainty on the dynamics of the actuator. By designing a controller using .mu.-synthesis, robust performance against measurement noise, various modeling uncertainties on the dynamics of the servo valve, actuator and mainpulator, is achieved. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is illustrated through simulations and experiments.

Position Control of an Electro-hydraulic Servo System with Disturbance (외란을 갖는 전기유압 서보시스템의 위치제어)

  • In a hydraulic control system, since a hydraulic cylinder drives a relatively large mass of an object, an external load force acts as a disturbance on the control performance of the system. Additionally, as the hydraulic system is used for a long period, there are disturbances that occur gradually, such as a drop in supply pressure because of abrasion of the pump, oil leakage from a valve, and oil leakage from a cylinder. In this study, a state feedback controller based on a linearization technique is applied. To prevent the performance degradation of the controller from the load disturbance, an Extended Luenberger observer (ELO) is used for the Extended system. The case of using the proportional controller, which is a representative linear controller, and the result of using the controller designed in this study are compared and reviewed through simulation. Also, we propose an experimental gain-setting method for a state feedback controller that can be used at industrial sites, and examine how the stability and control performance of the system changes because of the disturbance inputs through the experimental results.

  • Most of the work of construction equipment and agricultural machinery is done in off-road conditions. Autonomous driving required in these conditions uses GPS sensors, and PID controllers to control their speed and position. The hydrostatic steering, which is composed of a PSU, hydraulic hoses, and cylinders, rather than a mechanical coupling is used in these equipments. The PSU plays a key role in hydrostatic steering. Precise control of the position under various conditions requires detailed behavioral analysis of the basic components and operation. Two Gerotor PSU is now a commonly used safer option. The components of the PSU can be divided into mechanical and hydraulic actuating elements by its behavior. Since the system is combined by mechanical and hydraulic elements, the modelings are performed using Amesim, which is one of the most effective for the multi-domain dynamic system analysis. To confirm the validity of the model, input torque and pressures are checked with varying steering speed. The opening and the steering speed of normal and newly designed control valve set is investigated with the effect of centering spring force and friction. Finally, simulation results with fully detailed model with two gerotors are analyzed and compared with simple model.

A Study on the Safety Improvement in a Venting System from the HCl Release Accident of a Petrochemical Company (석유화학공장의 염화수소 누출사고를 통한 대기벤트 시스템의 안전성 향상 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to carry out the consequence analysis of an accident related to the release of Hydrogen chloride occurred in a petrochemical company in Korea and suggest the measures to prevent similar accidents from happening again. The total amount released through the safety valve of HCl Column was calculated based on the rated capacity of the safety valve, the ideal gas equation and mechanical energy balance, respectively. As a result of the calculation, we found that the amount of HCl released through the safety valve was at least 76.8 kg. Also, we predicted the dispersion concentration at the position of the injured workers(more than 350 m away from the accident location) using simulation programs such as PHAST. The results of ALOHA and K-CARM are 304 ppm and 1,700 ppm respectively. However, PHAST calculation indicated that the concentration is less than l ppm. From these results, we can understand that workers were injured by HCl gas released from the safe valve and the concentration of gas might be less than 1 ppm. Also, it is important for toxic gases such as HCl to be vented safely to the atmosphere after scrubbing.

  • SMB(simulated moving bed) chromatography system has been developed to realize continuous separation and save solvent consumption for binary mixture such as chiral compounds in especial. The parameters of SMB chromatography system can be calculated from mass balance equations of true moving bed chromatography, and they are used in design of 6-column SMB chromatography. We can separate 1'R-25 and 1'S-2S enantiomers as a raffinate product in 95% of purity using assembled SMB chromatography system.

Taxonomic study on the euryhaline Cyclotella (Bacillariophyta) species in Korea

  • Cyclotella species were collected at 51 sites from July 2010 to June 2013 in Korean coastal waters. A total of five Cyclotella species (C. atomus var. marina, C. baltica, C. litoralis, C. meduanae, and C. meneghiniana) were identified in this study. The diagnostic characteristics for five Cyclotella species are described, focusing on the spacing, position, number of satellite pores of the mantle fultoportula and valve face fultoportula. In addition, we put the salinity ranges of five species of Cyclotella together. Of the five Cyclotella species, C. baltica, C. litoralis and C. meduanae are newly recorded in Korea.

We can separate S-ketoprofen enantiomer as a raffinate product in 85% of purity and 0.3mg/ml using assembled SMB chromatography system.

관상정맥동 천정결손증 3례 보고

  • Unroofed coronary sinus syndrome is an uncommon anomaly, Unroofed coronary sinus syndrome is caused by incomplete formation of the left atriovenous fold, and it usually is associated with Left SVC. If it is not diagnosed, a residual reversed or bidirectional shunt will result, and its complications will reduce life expectancy. We experienced 3 cases of unroofed coronary sinus syndrome which combines TOF with PLSVC, partial ECD, primum type ASD. In case of Unroofed coronary sinus syndrome which combines TIF with PLSVC, preoperative diagnosis was not made. In corrective operation for TOF of this case, pump weaning was failed due to hypoxia and cardiac arrest, and he expired at operation room. At autopsy of this case, complete unroofed coronary sinus was found. In the other 2 cases, partial unroofed coronary sinus syndrome was found in operation field and corrective operation was performed successfully.
