The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of science class using the multimedia materials on high school students' attitude toward science. The subjects were 222 high school students. For this study, 11th graders at a high school were assigned to a comparison group and an experimental group. The experimental group was received science class using multimedia materials for 3 months. The research design was pretest-posttest control group design, the data were analyzed using PASW statistics 18.0 program. The types of multimedia materials used in experimental group were science fiction movies, science documentaries, TV programs, and Power Point presentations created by students. Before and after treatment, the attitude toward science tests were administered. Pre-tests and post-test score differences between 2 groups were analyzed by ANCOVA. The differences of attitude toward science based on gender were compared by analysis of covariance. And the perception on science class with multimedia materials were also investigated. The results of this study were as follows: First, the attitude toward science was improved significantly after applying science classes using multimedia materials. Especially, there were significant difference between pre-test and post-test in the score of attitude toward science class and attitude toward science content which were sub-area of attitude toward science. Second, there was no significant difference between female and male students in total score of attitude toward science. However, the attitude toward science, scientists and society, which was a sub-area of attitude toward science, female students scored significantly higher than male students. Third, 84% student showed a positive perception that the science class enhanced their interest in science. 69% the students responded that we had thought about Science-Technology-Society. Multimedia material types which the students prefered were science fiction movie, science documentaries, science TV programs, respectively.

In the past days, most of studies about users' behavior in online environments have been mainly focused on the adoption of website and internet shopping or shopping mall. But the generic model of website usage behavior has not been made and the leading theory of website usage behavior has not been existed. The purpose of this study consists of two parts: (1) to find the determinant variables of the website users' continuous using Intention in a certain website, (2) to examine the relative influences of the variables influencing the users' behavior in online environments. The framework of this study is based on the combination of some theories - Davis(1989)'s TAM, Fishbein(1975)'s TRA, Hoffman et al.(1997), Schneiderman(2000), Yoon(2002), Lee and Turban(2001), Sultan et al.(2002), Shankar et al.(2002a, 2002b), McKnight et al.(2002), Chen and Dhillon(2003), Heijden(2003) and so on. Major findings of this research are summarized as fellows: First, determinant of website continuous using intention was affected by 1) the-attitude and 2) the trust of the website except of perceived usefulness. Second, the website attitude was affected by the perceived usefulness, design, experience, reputation. But perceived ease of use did not affect the website attitude. Third, the website trust was affected by the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, design, experience of website. But the reputation of website did not determine the trust of Website in this research model.

In this paper, an enhanced method for attitude determination is proposed for systems using an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). In attitude determination with IMU, it is generally assumed that the IMU can be located in the center of gravity on the vehicle. If the IMU is not located in the center of gravity, the accelerometers of the IMU are disturbed from additive accelerations such as centripetal acceleration and tangential acceleration. Additive accelerations are derived from the lever arm which is the distance between the center of gravity and the position of the IMU. The performance of estimation errors can be maintained in system with a non-zero lever arm, if the lever arm is estimated to remove the additive accelerations from the accelerometer's measurements. In this paper, an estimation using Kalman filter is proposed to include the lever arm in the state variables of the state space equation. For the Kalman filter, the process model and the measurement model for attitude determination are made up by using quaternion. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, both of the simulations and the experiments are performed for the simplified scenario of motion.

This study was performed to examine attitude, perception, and sensory evaluation of Jjigae HMR (Home Meal Replacement) for Americans in the L.A. area. Attitude and perception of Jjigae were conducted by 128 consumers. The questions were as follows: 1) frequencies and attitude toward soup and stew, 2) experience and frequency of Korean food intake, 3) awareness of Korean Jjigae. A total of 69.5% of American had previous experience with Korean foods. However, the frequencies of Korean food intake were once every few months (27.4%) or once a year (18.9%). The 20.2% of consumers selected Kimchi-jjigae as the best-known Korean Jjigae, and 17.1% of consumers had previous experience with Kimchi-jjigae. However, the 23.7% of consumers did not have experienced with Jjigae. Sensory evaluation was conducted using Sundubu-jjigae and Kimchi jjigae. Overall liking and flavor liking were conducted by Americans using a nine-point scale (1: Dislike extremely - 9: Like extremely). The degree of intensity for sensory attribute was also rated using a nine-point Just-About-Right(JAR) scale (1: not nearly spicy/sour enough, 5: Just-About-Right, 9: too spicy/sour). Purchasing intention was rated using a five-point scale (1: Definitely would not purchase, 5: Definitely would purchase). Overall liking and flavor liking of two jjigae (Sundubu-jjigae & Kimchi-jjigae) had a value higher than five on the nine-point scale. The level of spiciness of Sundubu-jjigae was suitable for consumers whereas spiciness of Kimchi-jjigae was significantly different from the JAR value of five points on the nine-point JAR scale, showing that Kimchi-jjigae was significantly spicier than JAR point. Purchasing intention had a value higher than three on the five-point scale.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of science writing on organizing scientific knowledge and improving science process skills and science attitude, as science educators have indicated. For this study, two classes of $5^{th}$ grade students were chosen in the same elementary school. Subjects were divided into an experimental and a control group. The students in the experimental group took part in a science writing program for 14 lessons of science classes. The students in the control group were taught according to the traditional science program using standard science textbooks. To identify the effects of science writing, both groups' students were tested on science achievement, science process skills, and science attitude before the program implementation and were tested on science concept, science process skills, science attitude after the program implementation. The results of this study showed that the experimental group gains significantly higher scores than the control group in science concept and science attitude, but there was no significant difference on science process skills for either group. In conclusion, science writing had positive effects on science concept and science attitude of elementary school students, helping them to express their thinking logically and systematically, but science process skills were not affected.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify if participating in a sexual education program, influences knowledge, and healthcare attitude among attitudes of nurse clinicians in Korea. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 210 Korean nurse clinicians. Data were collected through self-reported questionnaires from July to August, 2011 from five hospitals in S and I cities. Data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson correlations, and multiple linear regression with SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: This study reported that the majority of nurse clinicians had attended sexual programs about sexual harassment, reproductive system and function. There were significant correlations between experience of attending sexual education(r=.32, p=.003) and sexual knowledge(r=.14, p=.047) with sexual healthcare attitude. Sexual education on the job(${\beta}=.13$, p=.004), supplementary sexual education(${\beta}=.17$, p=.009), sexual knowledge(${\beta}=.16$, p=.048), and obstetrics and gynecology department carrier(${\beta}=.29$, p<.001) explained 14.0% of sexual healthcare attitude. Conclusion: This study's results demonstrate that advanced and continuous sexual health program is necessary for nurse clinicians. Proper sexual knowledge and positive attitude may promote nursing intervention and counseling concerning patients' sexual problems.

Passive attitude stabilization methods using the permanent magnet combined with hysteresis damper and the gravity gradient boom have been widely used for the attitude determination and control of cube satellite, due to its advantage of system simplicity. In this paper, on-orbit thermal characteristics of the cube satellite considering the attitude profiles obtained from the above passive attitude stabilization methods have been investigated through on-orbit thermal analysis. In addition, the effectiveness of the various thermal coatings on the panel for the communication antenna installation has been verified.

Purpose: This study was to investigate nursing students' attitude to death, death-related education experience and educational needs. Methods: The participants of this study were 1,134 nursing students' studying in three universities in Gyeonsangnam-do. Data collection was carried out from October 1st to November 31st, 2010. The collected data was analyzed for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Sheffe test using PASW Statistics 18.0. Results: The level of attitude to death of the subjects averaged 2.60. The item receiving the lowest score was 'I am not afraid of a long, slow death'. Approximately 62.0% of the nursing students' had no death-related education experience and 89.8% of those answered that death-related education was necessary. For attitude to death followed by general characteristics, death-related education experience and educational needs, there were significant differences in attitude to death according to gender, religion, perceived health status, worrying about problems, motivation of nursing, and an experience with death. Conclusion: As nursing students' have a high educational need university curriculum development and educational programs addressing death should be developed and applied to nursing students.
This study was to examine the effect of the mother's rearing attitude and mother-child relationship, as perceived by the child, on adjustment to school life. The present study investigated how the mother's rearing attitude and mother-child relationship, as perceived by the child, influence school life adjustment. The participants were 300 4th grade elementary school students (173 boys and 127 girls), in Seoul. The data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation and multiple regression, by SPSS 12.0 program. The results were as follows: 1) The child who perceived the mother's rearing attitude to be more rational and democratic, was more adaptive in school life. 2) The mother-child relationship that the child perceived, had a positive relationship with the school life adjustment of the child. The child who perceived the mother-child relationship more positively, was more adaptive in school life. 3) In relationship with the teacher and school class, the mother's democratic rearing attitude, as perceived by the child, was found to be the most affecting factor. In relationship with the classmates and school rules, the mother-child relationship, as perceived by the child, was found to be the most affecting factor.
Purpose: This study was to investigate the knowledge and attitude of nurses who play a significant role in taking care of the aged. Method: The research surveyed 132 nurses working at care facilities for the aged in Seoul, Gyeonggi province, Daejeon, and Jeju.. Measures were knowledge scale and attitude scale. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 12.0. Result: First, the mean of knowledge of nurses was 16.45 (0.463), which was high in the knowledge (66%). The mean of attitude was 2.71 (0.764), which was in the neutral range. Second, There was no correlations between the knowledge and the attitude of nurses toward the aged. Third, (1) The degree of knowledge was significantly different according to age, educational backgrounds, clinical experiences, hospitals they work for, how they acquired the knowledge, and whether they took the GNP course. (2) The degree of attitude was significantly different according to age, departments they work for, how they acquired the knowledge, and whether they took the GNP course. Conclusion: As a result, this study could show that nurses are taking a greater interest in the aged, which reflects the social interest in the aged following the rapid growth of the aged population.
