  • Recently, with a great deal of attention and utilization to the UAV like a drone, many application cases using UAV in various fields have been proliferated rapidly. These UAV, however, has many risks like balance deviation and drone crash due to the external environmental factors. The attitude control algorithm for UAV is the most important portion in order to maintain the safe management of UAV, and the best solution is PID control algorithm which is generously used and almost perfect attitude control technology nowadays. In this paper, we propose the smart attitude control algorithm using fuzzy logic in order to provide safe and continuous attitude control against external environmental factors, and compare the performance through simulation study between PID and our algorithm.

  • Satellite attitude-control actuators are equipped with a reaction wheel for three-axis attitude control. The reaction wheel rotates a motor inside the actuator to generate torque in the vector direction. When using the reaction wheel, there are restrictions on the torque values generated as the motor rotates. The torque value of the reaction wheels mounted on small satellites is approximately 10 mNm, and high values are not used. Therefore, three-axis attitude control of a small satellite is possible using a reaction wheel, but this method is not suitable for missions that require rapid attitude control at a specific time. As a technology to overcome the small torque value of the reaction wheel, the control moment gyro (CMG) is currently in wide use as a rapid attitude-control actuator in space satellites. The CMG has an internal gimbal mounted at a right angle to the rotation motor and generates a large torque value. In general, when the gimbal operates, a torque value approximately 100 times greater is generated, making it suitable for rapid posture maneuvering. Currently, we are developing a technology for mounting a controlled moment gyro on a small satellite, and here we share the development status of an 800 mNm CMG.

  • It is urgently-needed to construct a green supply chain (GSC) from collection of used products through recycling of them to sales of products using the recycled parts. Besides, it is necessary to consider the uncertainty in product demand as a risk in a GSC. This study proposes the optimal operations for a GSC with a retailer and a manufacturer. A retailer pays an incentive for collection of used products from customers and sells a single type of products in a market. A manufacturer produces the products ordered by the retailer, using recyclable parts with acceptable quality and compensates the collection cost of used products as to the recycled parts. This paper discusses the following risk attitudes: risk-neutral attitude, risk-averse attitude, and risk-prone attitude. Using mean-variance analysis, the optimal decisions for product order quantity, collection incentive, and lower limit of quality level, in the decentralized GSC (DGSC) and the integrated GSC (IGSC) are made. DGSC optimizes the utility function of each member. IGSC does that of the whole system. The analysis numerically investigates how (i) risk attitude and (ii) quality of recyclable parts affect the optimal operations. Supply chain coordination between GSC members to shift IGSC from DGSC is discussed.

  • Objectives: Online grocery shopping has gained traction with the digital transformation of retail. This study constructs a behavioral model combining values, attitudes, and reasons for behavior-specifically, facilitators and resistance-to provide a more novel discussion and further understand the relative influences of the various factors affecting continuance intention in online grocery shopping. Methods: Data were collected through an online questionnaire from consumers who had engaged in online grocery shopping during the past month in Seoul, Korea. All collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, and model validation was performed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Results: Continuance intention is primarily driven by facilitative factors (compatibility, relative advantage, and ubiquity). Attitude can also positively influence continuance intention. Although resistance factors (price, tradition, and risk) do not significantly affect continuance intention, they negatively affect attitude. Values significantly influence consumers' reasoning processes but not their attitude. Conclusions: These findings explain the key influences on consumers' online grocery shopping behavior in Seoul and provide additional discussion and literature on consumer behavior and market management. To expand the online grocery market, consumers should be made aware of the potential benefits of the online channel; the barriers they encounter should be reduced. This will help sustain online grocery shopping behavior. Furthermore, its positive impact on attitude will further strengthen consumers' continuance intention.
