Smart Multiple-Tap System Based on WiFi for reduction of Standby-Power

  • In this paper, we proposed a smart multiple-tap system which a remote user with smartphone can control multiple-taps in order to reduce standby-power consumption more conveniently when plugged-in electric appliances are turned-off. Recently, several researches of smart multiple-tap using IoT technology has reported. However, in these researches, an additional device like as a server computer is necessary, or multiple-taps could be only remotely controlled by smartphone and not directly controlled by on/off switch. The proposed smart multiple-tap system does not need any additional device only if it has a WiFi router, and it can be used for user as well as remote control using smartphone application and physically direct control using contact switches like existing multiple-taps. Our approach is to develop a smart multiple-tap device capable of WiFi communication can each serve as a server or a client, and can be operated by the hybrid switch combining the on/off contact switch and the relay switch. We implemented the prototype of the proposed system composed of the smart multiple-tap device and the smartphone application, and the test of the prototype validates the proposed system.

  • 본 논문에서는 두 명의 상호협력 사용자가 추가적인 대역을 사용하지 않고도 서로의 데이터를 공간적으로 다중화 할 수 있는, 공간적으로 좌표 재배열된 직교 설계 기반의 새로운 상호협력 통신 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 기존의 상호협력 통신기법에 비해 다이버시티 이득 (다이버시티 이득 2) 뿐만 아니라 추가적인 코딩 이득을 얻을 수 있음을 보인다. 상호협력 통신에 참여하는 특정 사용자 노드가 자신과 짝을 이루어 동일한 목적지 노드(즉, 셀룰러 네트워크에서의 기지국)와 통신할 수 있는 또 다른 사용자 노드를 찾을 수만 있다면, 제안하는 기법을 통해 셀룰러 네트워크에서 상향링크의 비트 오류율 성능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 확인한다.

  • The Co-Gen System which maximize energy efficiency was installed at the industrial plants at the initial stage. However Small Scale Co-Gen System was expanded even to the general end-users such as housing and building owing to ESCO business recently. For this SSC, inter-connected operation to the utility is desirable due to voltage and frequency fluctuation following to unbalance between power output and load. Then voltage unbalance with utility system, frequency, increase of short circuit capacity, reclosing, and ALTS etc. should be fully considered for the inter-connected operation. Voltage variation, protection coordination, Co-Generators single running, and short circuit capacity should also be solved. For Con-Gen users, the several protection relays are recommended to install at the user's main incoming panel by the guide lines and/or instructions of the interconnected utility Then user's main CB(Circuit Breaker) have the chance to be tripped by some of this recommended relays and users have to undergo the unexpected blackout. So the circuit breaker trip schemes targeted to trip with these protection relays are reconsidered and the study result is hereunder proposed.

  • The paper is related to smart maximum power system based on program logic. Especially, this system compares the total demand power with the target power by using the signal from the digital kilo watt meter. Based on the power information by the maximum power control equipment the consumed future power is anticipated. In addition, through consumed future power the controllable target power is set, and it applies on the maximum power control equipment. User or manager would control the load efficiently through the simple programming which could control load based on the control sequence and relay. So this system could control load more efficient and stable. Also the conventional load control circuit is not needed. Therefore, it is possible to improve the simple system configuration, which is resulted in cost effective and time saving. So this system is anticipated on time and coast.

  • 본 논문은 무선 인지 네트워크에서 에너지 하베스팅을 하는 다수의 단말이 하나의 중계기를 사용하여 양방향 통신을 하는 시스템을 다룬다. 한 신호 전송 프레임은 에너지 하베스팅 단계와 신호 전송 단계로 이루어 진다. 에너지 하베스팅 단계에서 각 단말은 일차 사용자의 송신기에서 보내는 무선 에너지 신호를 이용하여 신호 전송에 필요한 에너지를 저장한다. 신호 전송 단계에서 중계기는 처리량이 가장 높은 하나의 유저 쌍을 선택하며, 선택된 유저는 중계기를 통하여 세 단계를 거쳐 정보를 교환한다. 이 때 각 단말에서의 불능 확률을 1) 중계기에서의 전송 전력이 변화할 때, 2) 단말 수가 변화할 때로 나누어 시뮬레이션 하고, 결과를 분석한다.

  • In this paper, we designed the bay control unit that is based on the microprocessors and integrates with the new technology of electrical, electronic, and mechanical fields. Nowadays the customers have required much more integrates multi protection relay, monitoring, control devices and power management for better and easier maintenance, performance, electrical system analysis and communication according to new trend of switchboard. This bay controller supplies those requirements of customers with easy handling and operation. This bay controller provides a graphic display with rear-lit liquid crystal LCD and push buttons as kinds of HMI. This bay controller provides the parameter setting program, various editors and fault recording and analysis program on Windows/95/98/NT/2000/XP for HMI. In addition, this bay controller can be set manually and this manual setting function helps user to interface easily.

Design and Implementation of the ATM Handoff Subsystem Supporting Soft-Handoffs between Mobile Switching Centers

  • If the service provider provides mobile service with mobile switching centers that use different handoff message format, the soft-handoff between mobile switching centers is not available and the hard-handoff scheme is used instead. When this occurs, calls are often disconnected or there is an interruption of service. This can be very annoying to a mobile user. We propose the handoff subsystem of the ATM switch which provides the soft-handoff between wireless cells under the control of different MSCs. The proposed handoff subsystem transforms the handoff message format of the source MSC to that of the destination MSC. It also provides efficient routing scheme that distributes handoff packets to balance the traffic load.

  • We have developed a speaker dependent voice command system(VCS) to control the sunroof in the car using RSC-164 VRP(Voice Recognition Processor). VCS consists of control circuits, microphone, speaker and user switch box. The control circuits include RSC-164, input audio preamplifier, memory devices, and relay circuit for sunroof control. It is designed robustly in various car noisy situations like audio volume, air conditioner, and incoming noise when window or sunroof opened. Each two users can control the car sunroof using seven voice commands on the Super TVS model and five voice commands on the Onyx model. It works well when we drive the car at over 100 km/h with the sunroof opened.

  • In three-phase power, when the power is supplied to the single phase load, there is the unbalance of load in the three-phase power. So the scott transformer is used in the power system to supply a single phase load in three-phase power without the unbalance of loads. Especially, the scott transformer is used in the AC substation of electric railroad. Two single phase transformers are combined by T-wiring in the scott transformer. So, two single phase voltage is provided by differing $90^{\circ}$ phase in three-phase power. The selection of related equipment and correction of protective relay are not easy from characteristic of the scott transformer when shunt and ground faults occur. PSIM(Power Electronics Simulator) is optimal simulation software in field of the power electronics and provide the simple and convenient user interface. In this paper, electric model of the scott transformer is suggested and the current of the scott transformer in shunt and ground faults is analyzed. Also, the scott transformer model is demonstrated by using PSIM.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 사용자 증폭재전송(amplify-and-forward) MIMO 중계 시스템을 위한 프리코딩(precoding) 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 프리코딩 기법에서는 블록 대각화(block diagonalization)를 통해 사용자간 간섭(inter-user interfereence)을 제거하고 기지국과 중계기에서의 전송전력(transmit power) 제한을 만족하면서 사용자 데이터 전송률(data rate)의 합이 최대화 되도록 한다. 모의실험결과를 통해 제안된 기법이 기존 기법에 비해 더 높은 사용자 데이터 전송률의 합을 달성함을 보이고 있다.
