Effect of Interference Mitigation Technique and Performance Analysis for Small Cell in Homogeneous Networks (동종네트워크 상에서 셀 소형화 간섭 완화 기법 및 성능 분석)

  • As various services requiring high data rate are supported by introducing LTE/LTE-adv., mobile traffic increases rapidly. To cope with the continuous growth of traffic demand, small cell technology is considered as one of the most promising one. Small cell can increase system capacity by increasing the number of base stations with reduced cell radius. In this paper, we analyze the effect of cell densification with small cells in terms of SINR and average UE throughput considering cell split and the number of UE per unit area. As the cell becomes smaller, SINR degradation arises from high ICI(Inter Cell Interference) and we evaluate the effect of interference mitigation scheme in small cell environment where the proper interference mitigation technique is applied.

An Analysis of Health Counseling by the Internet (인터넷을 통한 건강 상담의 내용 분석)

  • With the increased use of computers in medical fields, we can consider introducing computer mediated communication into the area of patient care such as medical or health counseling and education. But little was known about what problems can be counseled, what is the main direction of counseling, and what difficulties are met during the computer mediated counseling. So I conducted this study. This is a fundamental study concerning the health counseling by the inter-net. In this study, medical counseling using a method of questioning -answering through a computer mediated communication system was carried out from June 1998 to May 1999. I analyzed the contents of questions and answers by the ICPC classification. The ICPC classification emerged as a standard for information categorization in Primary Health Care within a few years. One of the most prominent features of this classification is the inclusion of the complaints of the patients (symptoms & complaints) and the social problems (Chapter Z). Thus, and for the first time, the demand of patients may be assessed such as it is expressed in the reality. The ICPC list is now an international standard whose validity is not questioned any more. It is translated in more than twenty different languages. The data collected were analyzed by descriptive statistical method, c2 test by cross tabulations. Followings are the results of this study. 1. The 3,054 users composed of 64% of males and 36% of females. The highest number of users was showed in the age group of $25{\sim}29$ (39.4%). 2. During the one-year period, the average number of counseling per user was 2.5 cases and per day was 21.1 cases. 3. In classifying symptoms and complaints by 17 chapter, digestive(17.6%), general and unspecified (12.7%), skin(12.7%) and musculoskeletal system (9.6%) were most common questions. 4. The distribution of diagnosis by 17 chapter, general and unspecified (21.4%), digestive (15.3%), skin (11.9%) and mus- culoskeletal system (8.9%) were most common answers. 5. Many users wanted to know symptoms and complaints(3,609 cases), treatment principles (2,928 cases), prognosis and preventive methods for health problems which were previously diagnosed (284 cases).

  • According to the development of information & web technology and the amount of information increases, there have been numerous problems exposed. Although, software engineers try to overcome the limitations by using software agent and web service, there hasn't been satisfactory result in the paradigm of current software agent being a provider to the user's demand. Moreover, the latest configuration of software development is based on CBD (Component Based Development). However, to construct new component using CBD costs great deal of expenses and therefore, a new model which can acquirecomponent information on the web promptly and accurately with low expenses is required. In this paper, the repository management system which acquires and manages on the Semantic web is designed and compare them to the existing component repository management and present its analysis result. In addition, to overcome the limitations of existing component repository system; low accuracy of search result, restrictive search vocabulary and faulty information, the specific plan is presented to perform a knowledge search for the component.

  • The purpose of this paper is to explore and analyze design of USATODAY.COM aimed at being helpful for Chinese online news industry to search for the way forward. USATODAY.COM which converges print and online newsrooms is regarded as a pioneer in the online communication media. It engages interaction with users and their demand, and provides the best level of website and service design. This paper conducted through both theoretical works and design analyses by randomly visiting USATODAY.COM from May 23 to June 5, 2016. USATODAY.COM maintains consistent and high quality of a visual identity system on its homepage, and it is strongly linked to that of USA TODAY. Also, USATODAY.COM provides unique content provision methods, interactive features, advertisement and payment functions through service design considering the user experiences and needs. Based on its results, it is expected to contribute to Chinese online newspaper market which has an astonishing chance to grow.

Fragility functions for eccentrically braced steel frame structures

  • Eccentrically braced frames (EBFs) represent an attractive lateral load resisting steel system to be used in areas of high seismicity. In order to assess the likely damage for a given intensity of ground shaking, fragility functions can be used to identify the probability of exceeding a certain damage limit-state, given a certain response of a structure. This paper focuses on developing a set of fragility functions for EBF structures, considering that damage can be directly linked to the interstorey drift demand at each storey. This is done by performing a Monte Carlo Simulation of an analytical expression for the drift capacity of an EBF, where each term of the expression relies on either experimental testing results or mechanics-based reasoning. The analysis provides a set of fragility functions that can be used for three damage limit-states: concrete slab repair, damage requiring heat straightening of the link and damage requiring link replacement. Depending on the level of detail known about the EBF structure, in terms of its link section size, link length and storey number within a structure, the resulting fragility function can be refined and its associated dispersion reduced. This is done by using an analytical expression to estimate the median value of interstorey drift, which can be used in conjunction with an informed assumption of dispersion, or alternatively by using a MATLAB based tool that calculates the median and dispersion for each damage limit-state for a given set of user specified inputs about the EBF. However, a set of general fragility functions is also provided to enable quick assessment of the seismic performance of EBF structures at a regional scale.

  • There has been increasing demand of hypermedia as computing and educational environment change. Most authoring tools developed recently have various built-in functions., but they are not enough to create hypermedia program or easy to learn. Even though teachers might try to develop hypermedia program with existing authoring tools, they usually come to face with the difficulties of creating new nodes, adding new data, or keeping user's activity records. Therefore, this study investigated to present a prototype of Educational Hypermedia Editor that can be conveniently used in hypermedia programs. According to the theories of courseware design, instructional design, learning theory, and hypertext and hyperemia, design strategies for the study were selected. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of domestic authoring tools as well as foreign authoring tools, the Educational Hypermedia Editor that has authoring and executing mode was designed and developed. Because the Educational Hypermedia Editor was designed for information retrieval CAI(Computer Assisted Instruction) materials, it is expected that the Educational Hypermedia Editor will be extensively used in the urea of social science classes, investigation studies, and information processing studies.

  • This paper proposed the calculation method of the generation operating avoided cost to cost-effectiveness evaluation of energy conservation programs that compounded the Proxy Plant Method and Load Decrement Method. This method introduced an operating index of the Energy Efficiency Demand-Side Management (EEDSM) resources based on the end-user's behaviors on the electricity power usage. The operation index is applied to calculate the hourly operating capacity of diffused high-efficiency appliances. And the operating capacity on the peak load hours for reference load is computed through the reduction of the peak load that contributes to that hour. Also, the proposed method evaluated the effect of EEDSM resources. The IEEE-RTS is adopted as a sample system to analyze impacts of an EEDSM. This paper, we have analyzed the effect of EEDSM upon the changes in the generation of generator, generation cost and the system marginal price (SMP). This method can be used to evaluate the impact of the diffused DSM resource and to estimate the impact in short-term EEDSM program. Further, result of the calculation can be utilized to pabulum for effect analysis of EEDSM resources.

  • Much amount of data which demand fuzzy information system requires various analysis through the fuzzy set visualization. Therefore, this study proposes how to visualize fuzzy data set using variation of Venn diagram. For the fuzzy data which are related to many topics and have ranking of relation, this way gives results that users want by visualizing intersection, union and complementary set. That is, it visualizes the set of fuzzy data which have many topics at once, or the set of all fuzzy data which has topics, or the set of fuzzy data not related to a topic. Users control these sets by overlapping or piling them; visualized with Venn diagram, which is user-oriented. One distinct advantage of this visualization is the fact that it delivers web documents which users of search engine and web developers want much quickly. Furthermore, its possibility can be expanded to several purposes by using for information retrieval.

  • Virtualization lacks capabilities for enabling the application to scale efficiently because of new applications components which are raised to be configured on demand. In this paper, we propose an architecture that affords mobile app based on nomadic smartphone using not only mobile cloud computing-cloudlet architecture but also a dedicated platform that relies on using virtual private mobile networks to provide reliable connectivity through LTE(Long Term Evolution) wireless communication. The design architecture lies with how the cloudlet host discovers service and sends out the cloudlet IP and port while locating the user mobile device. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed architecture by implementing an android application responsible of real time analysis by using a vehicle to applications smartphone interface approach that considers the smartphone to act as a remote users which passes driver inputs and delivers outputs from external applications.

  • The home interior market has been expanding due to the continuing increase of single-person households, the craze for DIY interior design, the increasing demands for old-house renovation and the customer needs for good housing conditions. Now the building materials companies are scrambling for the whole interior market share. The heretofore companies have focused only on the single items, but now they are promoting the comprehensive interior products as total interior brands. Besides, they use their own showrooms to share their brand culture experience and have communication with their customers. As for the show rooms, they have got to represent the identities of the building materials brands. And to present them effectively, it needs to meet the customer needs and emotions. In this connection, the object of this study is to clarify the definitions and the characteristics of the show rooms and the experience design through the literature research, analysis the space characteristics of the experience design in the show rooms of total interior brands, investigate their customer satisfaction and present the direction and the effective methods of the space design for the show rooms of the future. And the study result shows the experience design is the key factor to the high user satisfaction. Thus, the show rooms should provide the well-balanced experience with the adoption of a variety of experience design elements. Especially, the experience design elements are needed in the room to display the merchandise. Lastly, the show rooms are expected to increase constantly, so the study targeted at the specific area, Seoul should be expanded to other areas. And this study based on the customer survey alone have a limit to giving the concrete proposals. Therefore, the follow-up studies with the different methods such as one-to-one interview will be in demand.
