고 탄소 미세 강선의 기계적 특성에 미치는 잔류 응력과 표면 결함의 영향 (Effects of Residual Stress and Surface Defect on the Mechanical Properties of the High Carbon Steel Filaments)

  • The effects of residual stress and surface defects on the mechanical properties of the high carbon steel filament used for the automotive tire have been experimentally investigated. The samples were fabricated with annealing temperature. The residual stress was measured by focused ion beam and strain mapping software which has advantages, such as data with high accuracy and fast data acquisition time. Mechanical properties, such as tensile strength and fatigue resistance, were gradually increased up to $200^{\circ}C$ and then slightly decreased. From the measurement of residual stress and level of surface defect, it was revealed that the critical factor was varied with different temperature region. That is, the fatigue resistance increased due to decreasing the residual stress and decreased due to increasing the size and distribution of surface defect.

  • In the automotive suspension system, especially, Mcpherson strut type, if the resultant of the force through tire and the link reaction force is not coincident with the spring force, the side load against shock-absorber occur. The magnitude of side load is proportional to the difference between resultant force and spring force. To reduce side load, several method can be used, and one is to use the side load coil spring. This study summarize the development results of side load coil spring, i.e., how to design, analysis, manufacture, and test.

스패어 타이어 웰 부에 설치되는 Type 4 복합재료 압력용기 설계 및 구조해석 (Design and Structural Analysis of Type 4 Composite Pressure Vessel Fitted in Spare Tire Well)

  • Composite pressure vessels made through filament winding are widely used in various fields. Numerous studies regarding composite pressure vessels have been conducted in the automotive industry to improve the space efficiency of trunks as well as the fuel efficiency. Compared with steel liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessels used in the conventional LPG vehicles, the use of type 4 composite pressure vessels has advantages in terms of reduction of the weight of vehicles. This study focused on development of type 4 composite pressure vessels that can be installed in the spare tire well. Those type 4 composite pressure vessels are designed with torispherical dome shapes instead of geodecis dome shapes because of the space limitation. To reduce deformation due to the stresses in the axial direction of the vessels, thereby securing the safety of the container, the reinforcing bar concept was applied. A structural analysis software, ABAQUS, confirmed the effect of the reinforcing bar on the axial deformation through the type 4 composite pressure vessel. As a result, the final winding angle of the composite layer was analyzed by applying $26^{\circ}/28^{\circ}/26^{\circ}/28^{\circ}/26^{\circ}/88^{\circ}$ The tensile stress was 939.2 MPa and the compressive stress was 249.3 MPa.

  • Recently, diesel vehicles have been increased and their emission standards have been getting strict. The emission of diesel vehicles contains numerous dangerous compounds, especially particulate matters cause a serious environmental pollutant and affect to human health seriously. Thousands of studies have already reported that particulate matters are associated with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, and death. Due to these, it is necessary to measure the soot concentration and soot particle size in laboratory flames or practical engines to recognize the soot formation, and develop the control strategies for soot emission. In this study, the characteristics of exhausted soot particle size and volume fraction from 2.0L CRDI diesel engine have been investigated as varying engine speed and load. Laser induced incandescence has been used to measure soot concentration. Time-resolved laser induced incandescence has been used to determine soot particle size in the engine. The soot volume fraction is increased as increasing engine load but soot volume fraction is decreased as increasing engine speed. The primary particle size is distributed about $35nm{\sim}60nm$ at each experimental conditions.

자세 제어 장치와 능동 후륜 조향을 이용한 통합 섀시 제어 (Integrated Chassis Control with Electronic Stability Control and Active Rear Steering)

  • 본 논문에서는 자세 제어 장치와 능동 후륜 조향을 이용한 통합 섀시 제어를 제안한다. 제어에 필요한 요 모멘트를 만들어 내기 위해 직접 요 모멘트 제어 방법을 이용한다. 가중 역행렬 기반 제어할당 방법을 이용하여 제어 요 모멘트를 자세 제어 장치의 제동력과 능동 후륜 조향의 조향각으로 분배한다. 가중 역행렬 기반 제어 할당 방법에 가변 가중치를 도입하여 다양한 구동기 조합을 표현하고 차량의 속도를 높이기 위해 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 가변 가중치를 최적화한다. 차량 시뮬레이션 패키지인 CarSim 에서 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 제안된 방법이 차량의 조종안정성과 횡방향 안정성을 향상시킨다는 사실을 검증한다.

  • To improve the vehicle fuel economy, various technologies have been studied. Meanwhile it deteriorates fuel economy that the increased driving torque for Power Steering System (PSS) due to weighted vehicle and widened tire for low speed driving and parking. So the larger driving torque for PSS is, the lower fuel economy is. Therefore, the study about the effect of the driving torque for PSS and the engine total friction must be preceded to improve the vehicle fuel economy. In this study, a PSS module separated from the vehicle is used to measure the driving torque for PSS with respect to the pressure of PSS. The result shows that the driving torque for PSS was in direct proportion to the pressure of PSS 3 (N-m) driving torque for PSS vs. 10 (bar) pressure of PSS, and 8 (N-m) vs. 40 (bar). In addition, the driving torque and pressure for PSS was measured according to the engine speed in the component test condition which was in the vehicle condition. Measuring the driving torque for PSP in the vehicle condition was established by using the VeFAS which was a fuel economy analyzer developed in our lab and installing PSS By-pass line. The effect of the driving torque for PSS on the vehicle fuel economy was analyzed with FTP-75 cold start mode.

인휠 시스템용 유성 기어 감속기의 응력 해석 및 개선 설계 (Stress Analysis and Design Modification of the Planetary Gear Reducer of an In-wheel System)

  • The planetary gear reducer becomes more and more widely used in machine industries. The planetary gear reducer has a significant role to transmit power to wheel & tire module in the In-wheel system. Thus, the planetary gear reducer should have strong stiffness and durability. In this paper, the contact and bending stresses at the tooth of the planetary gear reducer are analyzed using MASTA, a commercial gear design and analysis software. Stress distribution at the tooth face of the sun, planetary and annulus gears are obtained using the finite element method. The design modification is performed using the response surface method. The usefulness of the design modification and optimization method presented in this paper is verified by comparing the maximum stresses of the original and optimized planetary gear tooth.

구속조건을 고려한 자동차 현가장치 기구특성의 최적설계 (Design Optimization for Kinematic Characteristics of Automotive Suspension considering Constraints)

  • 본 논문은 자동차 현가장치의 기구적 특성에 대한 설계 최적화에 관한 것이다. 현가장치의 기구적 특성은 토우 및 캠버와 같은 바퀴의 자세를 결정하며 이것은 주행 중 타이어의 마모에 관련될 뿐만 아니라 차량의 운동성능인 조종안정성에 큰 영향을 미친다. 따라서 설계 초기단계에서 현가장치 기구의 특성을 결정하는 것은 매우 중요한 일이다. 본 논문에서는 맥퍼슨 스트러트식 현가장치에 대한 현가장치의 기구적 특성을 파악하기 위하여 변위해석을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 현가장치 기구를 구성하는 조인트에 대한 구속방정식을 세우고 이를 풀 수 있는 프로그램을 작성하였다. 또한 원하고자 하는 현가장치의 기구적 특성을 얻기 위하여 설계 최적화 프로그램인 ADS를 이용하였다. 최적화를 위한 설계변수로서 현가장치의 차체 부착점인 하드 포인트의 좌표로 설정하였으며 목표함수로서 바퀴의 상하운동에 대한 토우-인의 합으로 정의하였다. 구속함수로서 설계 시 제한조건인 최대 캠버각과 최저 롤 중심고를 고려하였다. 본 연구의 결과로서 두 가지 구속함수를 만족하고 토우-인의 변화를 최소로 하는 하드 포인트의 최적위치를 결정할 수 있었다.

파라미터 맵을 이용한 차량용 인휠 전동기의 설계 (Design of In-Wheel Motor for Automobiles Using Parameter Map)

  • 전기자동차는 구동방식에 따라 인휠(in-wheel) 방식과 인라인(in-line) 방식으로 구분될 수 있다. 인휠 방식 전기자동차는 기존의 자동차에서 사용하였던 변속기, 축, 차동기어 등을 제거 할 수 있기 때문에 구조가 간단해지고 차체를 경량화하여 효율을 증대시킬 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 파라미터 맵(parameter map)을 이용한 차량용 인휠 전동기의 설계 방법을 제시하고, 연속정격 5 kW급 전동기를 설계하여 제작 및 성능 검증을 한다. 우선 차량의 요구 성능을 만족하는 인휠 전동기의 용량을 결정하기 위해 차량의 총무게, 기어 효율, 바퀴의 등가반경, 등판각도 등을 고려한 차량동특성해석을 수행한다. 이것을 통해 전동기 용량을 결정하고, 전동기 형상 및 치수를 결정하기 위한 초기설계를 진행한다. 그리고 요구 성능을 만족하는 전동기 파라미터를 결정하기 위해 파라미터 맵을 이용한 파라미터 설계를 수행한다. 파라미터 맵을 통해 전동기 파라미터를 결정한 후 마지막으로 무부하역기전력의 왜형율(Total Harmonic Distortion, 이하 THD), 코깅토크(cogging torque), 토크리플(torque ripple) 등의 개선을 위해 최적설계를 수행한다. 최종 설계 모델에 대해 제작을 하였으며, 성능 검증 및 제시한 설계방법의 신뢰도 검증을 위해 부하시험을 진행한다.

실시간 순환 신경망 기반의 멀티빔 소나 이미지를 이용한 수중 물체의 추적에 관한 연구 (Study on Underwater Object Tracking Based on Real-Time Recurrent Regression Networks Using Multi-beam Sonar Images)

  • This research is a case study of underwater object tracking based on real-time recurrent regression networks (Re3). Re3 has the concept of generic object tracking. Because of these characteristics, it is very effective to apply this model to unclear underwater sonar images. The model also an pursues object tracking method, thus it solves the problem of calculating load that may be limited when object detection models are used, unlike the tracking models. The model is also highly intuitive, so it has excellent continuity of tracking even if the object being tracked temporarily becomes partially occluded or faded. There are 4 types of the dataset using multi-beam sonar images: including (a) dummy object floated at the testbed; (b) dummy object settled at the bottom of the sea; (c) tire object settled at the bottom of the testbed; (d) multi-objects settled at the bottom of the testbed. For this study, the experiments were conducted to obtain underwater sonar images from the sea and underwater testbed, and the validity of using noisy underwater sonar images was tested to be able to track objects robustly.
