  • There are not that many m-health related services limited to the elderly. Many of the elderly who are at risk of dementia are unfamiliar to smart devices, so it is required to design an user-customized App. Therefore, I design and embody a mobile voice alert integrated app, which enables voice input to increase the accessibility of the elderly, so as to prevent diseases caused by declined cognitive function such as dementia. I conducted interviews and questionnaire after having the students use the app in Lifelong Education Center in H region of Gyeongbuk, and the analysis result has showed the high satisfaction. It is expected that it will be able to play a key role for M-Health service for the elderly since it is possible to prevent dementia through the voice health care alert app. I would like to learn deep learning in the future to predict the life patterns and the possibility of dementia of the elderly.

  • In accordance with the development of various convergence devices, cameras are being used in many types of the systems such as security system, driver assistance device and so on, and a lot of people are exposed to these system. Therefore the system should be able to recognize the human behavior and support some useful functions with the information that is obtained from detected human behavior. In this paper we use a machine learning approach based on 2D image and propose the human behavior pattern recognition methods. The proposed methods can provide valuable information to support some useful function to user based on the recognized human behavior. First proposed one is "phone call behavior" recognition. If a camera of the black box, which is focused on driver in a car, recognize phone call pose, it can give a warning to driver for safe driving. The second one is "looking ahead" recognition for driving safety where we propose the decision rule and method to decide whether the driver is looking ahead or not. This paper also shows usefulness of proposed recognition methods with some experiment results in real time.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of an On-line health promotion program connected with a hospital health examination center. Methods: Based on contents developed, the www.kmwellbeing.comhomepagewas developed. The research design was a one group pretest-posttest design. Seventy-three clients participated in this study. The data were collected from January 3 to June 30, 2005. As a way of utilizing the homepage, this paper attempted to measure the change of pre and post program health promotion behavior and health status (perceived health status, objective health index-blood pressure, pulse, total cholesterol, blood sugar, waist flexibility, grip strength and lower extremity strength). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and paired t-test with the SPSS/Win 12.0 program. Results: There were significant differences of perceived health status, systolic BP, waist flexibility and grip strength. However, there were no significant differences in health promotion behavior, diastolic BP, pulse, lower extremity strength, blood sugar and total cholesterol between pre program and post program. Conclusion: It is expected that an on-line health promotion program connected with a hospital health examination center will provide an effective learning media for health education and partially contribute to client's health promotion. A strategy, however, is needed to facilitate the continuous use of the on-line health promotion program for adult clients.

  • Activity recognition is a key component in identifying the context of a user for providing services based on the application such as medical, entertainment and tactical scenarios. Instead of applying numerous sensor devices, as observed in many previous investigations, we are proposing the use of smartphone with its built-in multimodal sensors as an unobtrusive sensor device for recognition of six physical daily activities. As an improvement to previous works, accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer data are fused to recognize activities more reliably. The evaluation indicates that the IBK classifier using window size of 2s with 50% overlapping yields the highest accuracy (i.e., up to 99.33%). To achieve this peak accuracy, simple time-domain and frequency-domain features were extracted from raw sensor data of the smartphone.

  • The complexity to search a specific content over TV platform is drastically increasing. Based on previous studies from computer data management system, we propose a new method that helps users to search and select content effectively. In general, contents over computers are represented by spatial metaphor, which replicates our physical environment and value systems about space. We suggest 3D lattice structure to construct information space for TV platform. Users can infer relevance between contents via special clue in information space, so as to select content more easily. Also, they can search contents through its temporal property that also represented in space. We make full use of our natural capability that can reduce additional overload to learning new interface. The results of this study can be significant and heuristic contributions, as they can be applied to diverse service areas utilizing video contents.

  • In first-person perspective training system, the users needs realistic experience. For providing this experience, the system should offer the users virtual and real images at the same time. We propose an automatic a persons's arm segmentation and image composition method. It consists of arm segmentation part and image composition part. Arm segmentation uses an arbitrary image as input and outputs arm segment or alpha matte. It enables end-to-end learning because we make use of FCN in this part. Image composition part conducts image combination between the result of arm segmentation and other image like road, building, etc. To train the network in arm segmentation, we used arm images through dividing the videos that we took ourselves for the training data.

  • The use of RaspberryPi in building an embedded system may be difficult for users in understanding the circuit and the hardware cost. This paper proposes a solution that can test the systems virtually. The solution consists of three elements; (i) editor, (ii) interpreter and (iii) simulator and provides nine full modules and also allows the users to configure/run/test their own circuits like real environment. The task of abstraction for modules through the actual circuit test was carried out on the basis of the data sheet and the specification provided by the manufacturer. If we can improve the level of quality of our solution, it can be useful in terms of cost reduction and easy learning. To achieve this end, the electrical physics engine, the level of interpreter that can be ported to the actual board, and a generalization of the simulation logic are required.

  • In modern society, in business decisions of our customers are continually increasing in importance, and owing to the development of information and communication technology effectively on a computer to measure the preferences of key customer techniques are being studied. However, this preference reflects significantly on personal ideas, and therefore, it is difficult to commercialize a measure calculated according to the ambiguous results. In this paper, by using biometric information that has been measure; we have configured the multi-sensitivity models based on customer preferences to evaluate the proposed system. This system consists of multiple biometric information of multi-dimensional vector model for learning through the use of structured emotional to apply the same criteria to evaluate customer preferences. In addition, by studying the specific subject-specific emotion model, it is shown to improve accuracy with further experiments.

  • Experiment is recognized as an important part in science and science education. Scientists do experiments for verifying or refuting theory and they take many forms to do experiments. One of the central goals of science education is to improve inquiry ability. So we have taken for granted that students engage in authentic inquiry and experiment which scientists carry out to research. But it is not always positive about discussions and opinions what school experiment and its role is in learning science and understanding about science. There is certainly a gap between experiments which scientists and students do even though there is a theoretical basis of school science experiment. In this study, we discussed how scientific inquiry and school inquiry are different, and what it means to use instrument in school science experiment. And as a case, we analyzed chemistry experiments in science textbook and manipulation level of instruments which were handled in chemistry experiments, we shed light on the meanings of experiments and instruments in school science inquiry based on the result of experiments and instruments analysis.

  • In this study, a new information-based hybrid modeling framework is proposed. In the hybrid framework, a conventional mathematical model is complemented by the informational methods. The basic premise of the proposed hybrid methodology is that not all features of system response are amenable to mathematical modeling, hence considering informational alternatives. This may be because (i) the underlying theory is not available or not sufficiently developed, or (ii) the existing theory is too complex and therefore not suitable for modeling within building frame analysis. The role of informational methods is to model aspects that the mathematical model leaves out. Autoprogressive algorithm and self-learning simulation extract the missing aspects from a system response. In a hybrid framework, experimental data is an integral part of modeling, rather than being used strictly for validation processes. The potential of the hybrid methodology is illustrated through modeling complex hysteretic behavior of beam-to-column connections.
