  • This study investigates the perception and adoption of ChatGPT (a large language model (LLM)-based chatbot created by OpenAI) among Korean users and assesses its potential as the next disruptive innovation. Drawing on previous literature, the study proposes perceived intelligence and perceived anthropomorphism as key differentiating factors of ChatGPT from earlier AI-based chatbots. Four individual motives (i.e., perceived usefulness, ease of use, enjoyment, and trust) and two societal motives (social influence and AI anxiety) were identified as antecedents of ChatGPT acceptance. A survey was conducted within two Korean online communities related to artificial intelligence, the findings of which confirm that ChatGPT is being used for both utilitarian and hedonic purposes, and that perceived usefulness and enjoyment positively impact the behavioral intention to adopt the chatbot. However, unlike prior expectations, perceived ease-of-use was not shown to exert significant influence on behavioral intention. Moreover, trust was not found to be a significant influencer to behavioral intention, and while social influence played a substantial role in adoption intention and perceived usefulness, AI anxiety did not show a significant effect. The study confirmed that perceived intelligence and perceived anthropomorphism are constructs that influence the individual factors that influence behavioral intention to adopt and highlights the need for future research to deconstruct and explore the factors that make ChatGPT "enjoyable" and "easy to use" and to better understand its potential as a disruptive technology. Service developers and LLM providers are advised to design user-centric applications, focus on user-friendliness, acknowledge that building trust takes time, and recognize the role of social influence in adoption.

  • Most of enterprises depend on a data modeler during developing their management information systems. In formulating business requirements for information systems, they widely and naturally use the interview method between a data modeler and a field worker. But, the discrepancy between both parties would certainly cause information loss and distortion that lead to let the systems not faithful to real business works. To improve or avoid modeler-dependant data modeling process, many automated data design CASE tools have been introduced. However, since most of traditional CASE tools just support drawing works for conceptual data design, a data modeler could not generate an ERD faithful to real business works and a user could not use them without any knowledge on database. Although some CASE tools supported conceptual data design, they still required too much preliminary database knowledge for a user. Against these traditional CASE tools, we proposed a Requirement-Oriented Entity Relationship Model for automated data design tool, called ROERM. Based on Non-Stop Methodology, ROERM adopts inner systematic modules for complete and sound ERD that is faithful to real field works, where modules are composed of interaction modules with a user, rules of schema operations and sentence translations. In addition to structure design of ROERM, we also devise detailed algorithms and perform an experiment for a case study.

  • Mobile healthcare apps should be paid more attention not just as software, but also as significant health information providers. We examine the impact of psychological factors (e,g., instrumental efficacy, informational efficacy, health information orientation, playfulness, and responsiveness) on intention to continuous use of mobile healthcare apps. Based on an expanded technology acceptance model (TAM II), this study examined the effects of psychological factors influencing the usage of mobile healthcare apps. The results showed that informational efficacy and instrumental efficacy influenced intention to use through perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Playfulness influenced intention to continuous use directly as well as indirectly through perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Health information orientation and responsiveness influenced intention to continuous use through perceived usefulness. This study suggests the need for adopting instrumental, informative perspectives and playfulness in contemporary health research and production of mobile healthcare apps.

  • Recently, new devices have been developed for the Internet of Things concept. The devices commonly use RF (Radio Frequency) based wireless communication. With the increase in the number of devices, the space allocated for the radio frequency band in wireless communication fills rapidly. Visible Light Communication (VLC) is an alternative, secure and economical communication technology that uses light instead of radio frequencies. While Web of Things (WoT) is the adaptation of the experience and knowledge acquired from the web into the internet of things ecosystems. By combining these two technologies, the development of the Visible Light Communication for Web of Things (VLC4WoT) system, which can use VLC and WoT technologies, has been our motivation. In our study, microcontroller control circuit was created for VLC4WoT system. Control of the circuits over the internet was performed. VLC based receiver and transmitter units have been developed for wireless communication. Web based interface was created for control. • This study aims to develop a theoretical model in order to determine factors affecting consumer intention to use credit cards by combining Theory of perceived risk and Technology acceptance model. Despite of perspective of consequences in prior studies on related research fields, this study focuses on the sources of perceived risk, including transaction, payment and credit risks, which are proposed and measured in a preliminary research. A measurement model and a structural model with the presence of perceived risk in sources are tested in a formal research with data collected from 538 bank customers. An analysis results show that payment risk, usefulness, transaction risk, ease of use, and credit risk influence significantly Vietnamese consumers' intention to use credit cards in decreasing order of influence. These factors account for 64.6% of the variation in intended use. All three dimensions of perceived risk have a negative effect on the intention to use, with the total impact greater than the level of influence of the other two factors of usefulness and ease of use. These findings can be beneficial to banks in enacting policies to attract more consumers and to allocate resources for improving their credit card business.

  • Due to recent increase of indoor spatial information demands, several international standards have been published for indoor spatial information. OGC has also recently published two standards for indoor space; CityGML and IndoorGM. CityGML aims to provide a standard for 3D city modeling and the level of details (LoD) 4 covers the indoor space. IndoorGML focuses only on indoor space and provides several functions to complement the weakness of CityGML. It is therefore recommended to apply IndoorGML as a combination with CityGML. However since the weakness and strengths between these standards are not yet fully studied and understood, there is no well-defined guideline to apply them in a proper way. It means that we need to carry out a comparative study between them for their proper integration. For this reason, we discuss the pros and cons of these standards from two use-cases. The sites for the use-cases cover Lotte World Mall and Jongno-5 subway station, respectively. We studied these use-cases to compare CityGML and IndoorGML through the data construction of CityGML and IndoorGML for these sites. And based on several application scenarios, we also analyzed the weakness and strengths of each standard from different viewpoints. We expect that these comparative studies will be helpful to make a guideline on the application and integration between CityGML and CityGML.

Today, pilot project of construction of geotechnical information database is in process to be stable for its system after applying this guideline, and discipline how to input investigated data for related users. We have developed standard for geotechnical investigation result-format, metadata for distribution of geotechnical information and to coordinate based on world geodetic system. Also, We had a introduce to status with respect to use the input system, collect a statistics of input contents. At a result, improvement items of input system is proposed. It was analyzed that most users put to practical use easily as a result of education for making use of on the spot of the developed GIIS. But There were problems with the GIIS as well as complexity of metadata formation, such as error of moving part of information window, and a part of recognition error of install program in accordance with computer OS circumstances. Particularly, to improve some parts of GIIS is needed, because of use of or KNHC (Korea National Housing Corporation)-specific format and difference of input process followed by MOCT's guideline. In this study, it is planning to make up for occurred problems, and improvements when operating and managing the Geotechnical Information DB center in 2008.
