To provide basic information for the development of refrigerated convenience foods for Koreans, 492 house-wives residing in Seoul and Kyunggi Province were surveyed concerning satisfaction of buying precooked convenience foods, frequency of using them, preferred Korean dishes, and willingness to buy the convenience foods if they are developed. Statistical data analysis was completed using SAS package program. The satisfaction mean score of the marketed precooked convenience foods was 2.73 out of 5 and the housewives were least satisfied with feed additives and sanitation factors. The factors affecting satisfaction in purchasing were sanitation, taste, variety of type, nutrition, price, and food additives for side-dishes sold refrigerated or at room temperature, and taste, sanitation, variety of type, price, nutrition, and food additives for frozen prepared foods in order respectively. The frequency of using the precooked convenience foods was generally low but that of using the pickled dishes, Jokbal Soondae, and frozen prepared foods was relatively high. The answer of 'the thought that meals should be prepared in households' was the primary reason for avoiding using the precooked convenience foods and 'no time to cook' was the most frequent answer among the reasons for using them. Currently, the precooked convenience foods were used for snacks mainly, but the usages to be expected to increase were for lunchbox, main dishes, snacks, side dishes, special occasions foods, and leisure foods in order. Based on preference and buying priority, the dishes needed to be developed as refrigerated convenience foods among Korean dishes were identified. The result showed that 'preference' was not consistent with buying priority and the housewives perceived the factor of 'convenience' more importantly than 'preference' in purchasing the convenience foods.
This research explores a value chain structure of VR-AR media including user's perception, uses, and evaluation. The purpose of this research focused on factor analysis and the relationship among user's VR-AR adoption motivations and utilities. This research explores correlation between personal value and using motivation. This study was to identify the value structure of respondent on VR-AR usages based on means-end chain theory. The research used structured APT laddering questions and 251 data was analysed. Through such analysis, category difference by stage and relationship difference were identified and hierarchical value map was compared. There are four different value ladders: first is attributes, functional consequences, psychological consequences, and final value. This study is based on the analysis of the value chain structure factors that affect VR and AR use behavior (attributes, functional benefits, psychological benefits, use value), 'Hierarchical Value Map' between users' The purpose of the model is to construct a model. For this, 'means-end chain theory' was applied to measure the causal relationship between personal value and VR related use behavior. In order to solve this research problem, 135 people were analyzed through the structured questionnaire using the AR and VR content fitness measure and the second APT laddering, and the use of VR-AR : 1) Functional benefits; 2) Psychological benefits; 3) Means to reach value, 4) Objective value chain structure was identified. The results show that VR users tried to smooth the social life through the new virtual reality audiovisual element, the newness of experience, fun, and pleasure through the departure of reality, vividness of experience, and leading fashion. The AR fitness was a game and a new program, and the value of interacting with other people and the value of 'periwinkle' played an important role through the vividness and peripheral interaction of AR, It was an important choice. The important basic values of users' VR and AR selection were correlated with psychological attributes of interaction with others, achievement, happiness and favorable values.

Congestion index is needed for quantifying congestion level for various areas. So far, the index has been calculated based on multiple vehicle data for specified time interval. Such being the case, it was costly to build it and the usage of it was focused on policy development and evaluation rather than on traffic information provision. This study focuses on a development on a single vehicle based congestion index which can be a representative value for link congestion level and link speed information at the same time for dual purposes of traditional usages and information provision. A new term has been added for representing real time based arterial congestion level and it has been verified on a real time basis. The index was based on single vehicle GPS data and seemed to be cost effective in deriving the index. With the help of the index, the traffic information contents can be diversified in a constructive way in providing real time traffic information for ITS area and in using congestion level determination for traditional transportation areas.

Pear psylla, Caccopsylla pyricola (Homoptera: Psyllidae), is a serious insect pest in pear orchards. C. pyricola overwinters as adults under rough bark scales of pear trees. When the weather warms up in the spring, the overwintered adults become active, climb up to the tree branches, and inhabit on fruit twigs to lay eggs. This study was conducted to develop a forecasting model for the onset of upward-movement of overwintered C. pyricola adults to control them by timely spraying of petroleum oil. The adult population densities were observed under rough barks (B) and on fruit twigs (T) of pear trees. Relative upward-movement rates (R) were calculated as T/(B+T). Low threshold temperatures for the activation of overwintered C. pyricola adults were selected arbitrarily from 5 to $9^{\circ}C$ at a $1^{\circ}C$ interval. Then, the days (D) when daily maximum air temperatures were above each low threshold temperature were counted from 1 February until to the dates with R $\geq$ 0.8. The same methods were applied for the prediction of the first observation of eggs. The variation of coefficients (CV) for the mean Des were lowest with the low threshold temperature of $6^{\circ}C$. At this selected threshold temperature, the upward movement of C. pyricola adults occurred with 12 D and they started laying eggs with 25 D. In the field validation, the model outputs with the $6^{\circ}C$ threshold temperature reasonably well explained the observed data in Suwon and Cheonan in 2002. Practical usages of the model were also discussed.

Climate changes caused by fossil fuel energy usages have led to serious environmental damages and resource scarcity. Ever-increasing demand for energy causes harsh competition in international energy markets. Nuclear power, which once was regarded as a desirable clean energy, began to face public oppositions after the Japanese nuclear disaster in 2011. In this context, wind power is now considered to be an ever-more important recyclable energy source. Thus, this study intended to identify critical success factors for wind power construction projects. After a thorough literature review, two focus group interview sessions were conducted. A questionnaire-based survey, coupled with the two previous methods, resulted in the extraction of important factors for the success of wind power projects. Experts, including those working as constructors, designers, and owners, were paid a direct visit for the interview and survey. The critical success factors were categorized into feasibility study, right policies, equipment selection, and project financing issues. The proposed critical success factors are expected to be an effective guideline for future investors in wind powers.
While the broadband network and multimedia technology are being developed, the commercial market on digital contents as well as IPTV has been widely spreading. Especially IPTV is providing various useful services since it makes using multimedia contents easier and more convenient by combining the strong points of both TV and PC system. Until now, IPTV system has been focused on VoD service as a general usages. However, various IPTV services are recently demanded since they can have special features for some specific places and occasions. So in this paper, we propose a design of the download based IPTV system using user-specific channel management. At first, program contents previously scheduled by users are downloaded and are played at settop-box according to the prescribed time table. This system has some advantages of giving users easy access to any wanted media contents in anytime that is IPTV's characteristics. And we can increase stability of services by using time slot distributed download for contents. Because this service can be constructed and maintained at relatively low cost, we confirm that this service model is more suitable to some companies with small infrastructure and special purposes. Accordingly, in this paper, we look into necessary elements and define some protocols for system in order to help other developer build this system.
Rock bowls and pots used in restaurants are one of the popular usages of natural rocks in Korea. Most rock bowls and pots are made of Mg- and Ca-rich amphibolite composed of hornblende, actinolite, tremolite, diopside, plagioclase. Hornblende occurs as prismatic crystal habit, and belongs to Mg-hornblende to tschermakite. Actinolite and tremolite occur as acicular form (aspect ratio $0.10{\sim}0.13$), and ranges 0.65 to 0.90 in Mg/(Mg+Fe) ratio. These acicular actinolite and tremolite are non-asbestos minerals. However to use of rocks containing these minerals as tableware it is needed to regulatory guidelines for stability and utility based on petrological and mineralogical characteristics. Discrepancy of rock occurrence and mineral chemistry between commercial rock bowls and original rocks indicate that most rock bowls are made of uncertain amphibolite in original location. Consequently, there is a potential risk to use inappropriate amphibolites as tableware. Therefore, it is needed to systematically research on geology and biology, and manage commercial rock bowls and pots used in Korean restaurants.

This study examined the satisfaction of the married women from aged 20s through 50s with well-being oriented foods, considering the importance of each subordinate field and verifying the differences between the groups according to socio-demographic factors, purchase behavior factors, and well-being oriented dietary life factors, followed by an analysis of the relative influence of those relevant factors. A preliminary survey was conducted from January 4th-11th, 2009 to check if there were any problems or misunderstood parts before the main survey. After the preliminary study was conducted, certain problems were adjusted and supplemented, and then the main survey was conducted for twenty-three days, from January 4th to February 5th, 2009. The summaries of this study are as follows: First, in the view of the purchase behavior, the mainly purchased well-being oriented foods were farm products, and the leading purpose of the purchase was for the parents and the children. It was shown that 30% or more of the information sources on well-being oriented foods were families, relatives and neighbors. More than 66% of the purchasing was done at wholesale marts and the topped purchasing frequency was from 5 to 6 per month. More than 71% of payments for well-being oriented foods were \50,000~100,000 per month. More than 51% of the respondents answered that the proper price of well-being oriented foods was 1.2 times to 1.5 times of that of other foods. Second, the satisfaction of the well-being oriented foods was ranked as 3.21 to 3.28 out of 5, and varied with the usages and the methods of weights. Investigating the satisfaction with each subordinate field, the satisfaction with price was shown to be low. The satisfaction with the assortments of foods and the satisfaction with the therapeutic degree by thorough investigation and management of foods were also relatively low. Third, well-being oriented dietary behavior was shown to be characterized by two factors, through factor analysis in this study. One was an eco-friendly oriented behavioral factor and the other was a health oriented selective factor. Fourth, the stepwise multiple regression analysis results investigating the relative influence of the factors effecting satisfaction with well-being oriented foods showed that the top ranked factor affecting total satisfaction was eco-friendly oriented behavioral factor, followed by education level and purchasing sites, especially of consumer groups.

In this paper, we propose an optimized fuzzy controller based on Hierarchical Fair Competition-based Genetic Algorithms (HFCGA) for rotary inverted pendulum system. We adopt fuzzy controller to control the rotary inverted pendulum and the fuzzy rules of the fuzzy controller are designed based on the design methodology of Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) controller. Simple Genetic Algorithms (SGAs) is well known as optimization algorithms supporting search of a global character. There is a long list of successful usages of GAs reported in different application domains. It should be stressed, however, that GAs could still get trapped in a sub-optimal regions of the search space due to premature convergence. Accordingly the parallel genetic algorithm was developed to eliminate an effect of premature convergence. In particular, as one of diverse types of the PGA, HFCGA has emerged as an effective optimization mechanism for dealing with very large search space. We use HFCGA to optimize the parameter of the fuzzy controller. A comparative analysis between the simulation and the practical experiment demonstrates that the proposed HFCGA based fuzzy controller leads to superb performance in comparison with the conventional LQR controller as well as SGAs based fuzzy controller.
Skin is a physical barrier against diverse injury and damages. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes detrimental skin injuries such as inflammation and cell death. The value of natural pigments could be applied to many usages including cosmetics. This study was conducted to examine the protective effect of natural pigments extracted from mulberry, balsam pear, purple-colored sweet potato, pehmannia root, gardenia fruit, and black rice against UV-induced cell death in HaCaT cells, human keratinocyte cell lines. In the present study, the exposure of 50 mJ/$cm^2$ UV-B for 24 hr induced cell death in HaCaT cells, which was prevented by the pretreatment of extracts of mulberry, balsam pear, purple-colored sweet potato, rehmannia root, gardenia fruit, and black rice. In addition, the exposure of 50 mJ/$cm^2$ UV-B for 24 hr also increased lipid peroxide (LPO) formation, compared to control in HaCaT cells, which was prevented by the pretreatment of extracts of mulberry, balsam pear, purple-colored sweet potato, rehmannia root, gardenia fruit, and black rice. In conclusion, the extracts of mulberry, balsam pear, purple-colored sweet potato, rehmannia root, gardenia fruit, and black rice prevented the UV-B-induced cell apoptosis via the inhibition of oxidative stress in HaCaT cells.
