Usability assessment has been installed into a wide range of software that focuses on assessing product usage from the user's perspective. Usability assessment of the quality of life technology for individuals with disability is being discussed and tentatively designed which is also expanded to the products for non-disabled people with minor adjustment of the usability assessment protocol. Designing an appropriate usability assessment protocol by referencing the currently available international standards on software usability tests with number of modifications to produce valuable feedbacks is under evaluation process regarding product usability enhancement. The feasibility study on usability assessment protocol into quality of life technologies is presented with discussions on further research.

In this study we carry out usability evaluation for adjustable electric beds for home care that are used the most by the elderly, and examines dissatisfaction of users. In this sense, we performed an interview with stakeholders including bed users, developers and suppliers to develop usability evaluation contents. In addition, we carried out feasibility and reliability study over evaluation form through usability assessment, and developed usability evaluation indicator.

정보 교육에서 수업과 평가를 통합하는 과정지향적인 평가가 수시로 이루어지기 위해서는 평가자인 교사가 보다 편리한 방법으로 평가를 할 수 있게 지원해 주는 사용성(Usability)이 고려된 웹기반평가시스템이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 웹기반평가시스템의 사용성 요소를 분석한 후, 오프라인 지필평가과정에 내재한 사용성 요소를 추출하여 사용성이 제고된 PBA(Paper-Based Assessment) 평가 모델을 제안하였다. PBA 모델에 의한 웹기반 평가시스템은 교사주도하에 평가전, 평가중, 평가후의 모든 과정이 제어된다. 특히 평가 대상을 손쉽게 바꿀 수 있고, 평가지에 대한 접근을 평가 단계마다 철저히 차단시켜 평가 결과에 대한 신뢰성을 높일 수 있다. 또한 학생들은 자신들의 학년, 반, 번호, 이름을 사용하여 손쉽게 평가지에 로그인할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와같은 PBA 모델에 기초하여 정보교육용 웹기반평가시스템 PAS(PBA-based Assessment System)를 설계 및 구현하였다.

사용자 중심 디자인과 콘텐츠 개발이 대두되면서 사용성 평가에 대한 연구와 항목 정립이 중요해지고 있다. 그렇지만, 모바일 애플리케이션이나 특정 분야에 대한 디지털 시스템에 대한 사용성 평가에 대한 연구는 미비한 상태이다. 최근 웨어러블 기기와 스마트 폰의 발달로 자기 정량화(Quantified-self) 또는 라이프 로깅에 대한 사용과 콘텐츠 개발이 급증하고 있다. 본 논문은 라이프로깅 서비스를 지원하는 애플리케이션에 대한 사용성 평가 항목과 요인을 정립하고자 하는데 있다. 본 연구를 위하여 첫째, 라이프로깅 애플리케이션의 사용성 평가 요인을 정립하기 위하여 기존의 사용성 평가 항목을 수집하고 FGI(Focus Group Interview)를 통해 초기 항목을 선정하였다. 둘째, 선정된 초기 항목에 대한 사용성 평가 설문을 진행하여 그 결과에 대해 신뢰도 분석과 탐색적 요인분석을 실시히였다. 셋째, 통계 분석 결과를 통해 28가지 사용성 평가 항목과 4가지 요인인 인식성, 기능성, 심미성, 만족성을 정립하였다. 마지막으로 정립된 사용성 평가에 대한 활용 기대와 한계점을 논의할 것이다. 본 논문의 결과는 계속 증가하고있는 라이프로깅 애플리케이션의 사용성 평가 시 가이드라인으로 활용되어 효과적인 콘텐츠 개발에 기여할 것이다.

The popularization of smartphones allows people to instantly get the information that they want, through mobile apps, including financial services, movies and public transportation reservations, games and shopping. Furthermore, leisure activities through overseas travel are increasing due to the improvement of the living standards of people. These increases in overseas travel and the use of mobile apps lead to the increased use of mobile travel apps when booking tour packages. Although there are many studies on the usability assessment and user interface improvement for mobile apps, studies on the usability assessment for mobile travel apps are limited. We tested the usability for mobile travel apps to present some suggestions for improvements so that anyone can purchase travel packages easily and simply. We selected the top three mobile travel apps on Rankey.com that have different UIs. The heuristic method was used to evaluate usability. We present a better UI to allow users to use the app functions more easily by analyzing user interaction, ease of learning, readability, efficiency, and satisfaction for the entire use.

4차 산업혁명 시대를 맞이하여 증거기반의 교육정책을 위해, 전국단위의 진단평가 데이터를 수집하기 위한 시스템을 구축 활용하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 전국 단위 초 중생이 활용하고 있는 진단평가관리시스템의 사용성 개선을 도울 수 있는 휴리스틱스 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 Nielsen의 기본 휴리스틱스를 비롯하여 교육적 목적에 종속적으로 개발된 휴리스틱스에 대한 선행연구를 기반으로 유사시스템인 진단 보정학습시스템의 사용성 문제를 분석함으로써 휴리스틱스 초안을 개발하였다. 이는 델파이 방법을 통해 15명의 전문가에 의해 2회의 타당화 과정을 수행함으로써 수정 보완되었고 최종안이 도출되었다. 본 연구는 교육 맥락에서 사용성 평가도구를 제공함으로써 전국단위의 관계자(교사 등)와 학생들이 활용하는 시스템의 사용성 개선을 위한 기반을 마련하였다는데 의의가 있다.

Objective: The main objective of this study is to propose a user-centered assessment metric for ubiquitous services. Background: As the ubiquitous era took off, the interactions between ubiquitous services and users have come to take an important position. It is essential to conceptualize a new assessment model that considers human-system interaction capability with a user-centered design perspective. Method: The evaluation model for the interactivity of ubiquitous service was approached from the concept of usability and inter-personality of services. As a validation study, suggested assessment metric was utilized to evaluate the u-Home service. Priority weighting of each assessment metric was derived using the quantification type-I analysis. Results: To evaluate interactivity, this study suggested a quantitative metric for user testing performed after classifying the interactivity characteristics to contextualization; ubiquity; user experience; and service capability. Conclusion: This study suggest the metric for the ubiquitous service that are experienced in real life, and introduced the concept of ubiquitous service interactivity. Application: The suggested evaluation metric can be used to evaluate interactivity level of ubiquitous service and identify the potential problem and usability requirements at the early stage of service development.

This paper reports results of a recent survey of 184 Information Technology(IT) development practitioners and 90 User Interface (UI)/usability practitioners. This survey covered a broad range of issues including the respondents' profile, current development environment, usability and user-centered design (UCD) adoption issues in development, overall assessment of usability/UCD in Korea, and the most widely used methods and techniques. The results of this study are expected to provide an empirical basis for usability and UCD planning, training, adoption and execution in IT industry of Korea.

Objective: The study examined the validity and reliability of tele-assessment of cervical range of motion (ROM) through video conferencing. Design: A cross-sectional study Methods: The study included 22 healthy adults as subjects and 10 physical therapists as evaluators. The subjects underwent both face-to-face and tele-assessment of cervical ROM. The CROM (Cervical Range of Motion) device was used for reference measurements in the face-to-face assessment. The evaluators assessed the subjects' ROM through visual inspection (VI) and using a Universal Goniometer (UG) in the tele-assessment. Results: The results showed a significant correlation between the face-to-face and tele-assessment measurements for all ROM contents. The correlation coefficients ranged from r=0.54 to 0.71 (p<0.05), indicating concurrent validity. In terms of inter-rater reliability, the ICC values for both VI and UG assessments in the tele-assessment were high, with ICCs of 0.93 and 0.92, respectively. Additionally, the study investigated the usability of the tele-assessment method and environment. The satisfaction of the participants and evaluators was assessed using the Telehealth Usability Questionnaire (TUQ), which evaluates perceptions, usability, and satisfaction with telehealth services. Conclusions: In conclusion, tele-assessment of cervical range of motion using video conferencing was valid and reliable. Also, investigated participant and evaluator satisfaction and opinions, providing insights into the clinical value of tele-assessment. It is important to note that the study was conducted only healthy adults, and further research may be needed to validate the tele-assessment method in populations with cervical dysfunction or neck pain. These findings support the potential effectiveness of telerehabilitation services in assessing and managing musculoskeletal disorders.

목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 노인의 지역사회 이동성을 측정하는 평가도구인 한국어판 생활공간 평가(Korean Version of the Life Space Assessment; K-LSA)의 임상적 유용성 및 사용성을 검증하는 것이다. 연구방법 : 작업치료사와 물리치료사 60명을 대상으로 K-LSA의 임상적 유용성 및 사용성 검증에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 임상적 유용성에 관한 객관식 문항 및 사용성에 관한 객관식과 주관식 문항을 포함하였다. 객관식 자료 분석은 빈도 분석 및 기술 통계로 처리하였고, 사용성에 대한 주관식 문항은 항목별로 공통적인 요소를 모아 분류하여 분석하였다. 결과 : K-LSA의 임상적 유용성에 긍정적 표현인 '보통(3점)'과 '그렇다(4점)'와 '매우 그렇다'로 응답한 비율이 95~100%이었고, 문항 별 점수 분포가 3.6~4.0점으로 나타났다. 또한 K-LSA의 사용성에 대한 질문에 긍정적 표현인 '보통'과 '쉽다'와 '매우 쉽다'로만 응답한 비율은 88.3~100%이었고, 문항 별 점수 분포가 3.6~4.0점으로 나타났다. 추가적으로 사용성에 대한 개방형 질문에서 생활공간 범위 3과 4에서 기준의 모호함이 언급되었다. 결론 : K-LSA는 국내 보건의료 분야에서 지역사회 이동성을 측정하는 평가도구로 임상적으로 유용하며, 사용이 용이한 도구이다. 따라서 치료사들이 노인의 사회 참여를 증진시키고, 지역사회 이동을 위한 중재 목표를 세우고, 교육하는데 기초자료로 LSA를 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
