Number of dairy cow patients diagnosed and treated at Hyup Dong Large Animal Clinic during the year, October 1, 1966, through September 30, 1967, were amounted to 1,119 cases and the result of analysis of disease incidence during one year period were as follow: 1. In the etiologic diagnostic categories, diseases cause by infection with lower organism were most productive and 43.3% of all diagnosis involved in this category. 2. In the topographic diagnostic categories, 37.3% of all diagnosis involved the urogenital system and were observed most productive. 3. As a result of each topographic diagnostic categories were subdivided into disease entities, 21.4% of all diagnosis involved the mastitis and this were observed most productive in the miscellaneous disease entities. Next productive disease were indigestion (11.9%), endometritis(11.5%), miscellaneousl ovarian disease(11.1%) and retained placenta(81.1%) chronologicaly.

The Korean native goat has been extensively used in the experimental work. Compared to those experimental work employing the goat, reports on their diseases have been scarcely documented. In the present communication, authors reviewed the literatures pertaining to the diseases of the Korean native goat. Diseases of the respiratory system, the alimentary tract, the liver, the musculoskeletal system, the skin, the urogenital system, the nervous system, the eye, and the heart were reviewed. And then metabolic, toxic, and parasitic diseases were reviewed. Of those diseases reviewed, diseases of the heart and kidney, and metabolic and toxic diseases were wholly artificially-induced. Except the parasitic diseases, a considerable number of diseases of other organ systems were also artificially-induced. And the parasitic diseases reported were confined to the internal parasites. Authors feel that the known occurrence of diseases would help diagnose new disease in the goat.

Objective : This study aims to search Four-constitution Medicine based acupuncture by investigators and its effect on constitution-specific symptoms. Method : Among 463 oriental medical doctors who are the members of society of Four-constitution Medicine, 191 results are collected. The items of the questionnaire are sex, age, work experiences, working type, constitution diagnosis & prescription, the use of constitution acupuncture and so on. Result : The proportion of acupuncture treatment applied constitution-based acupuncture to patients are "Must Use" 12.6%, "Almost Use" 14.1%, "Sometimes Use" 42.9% and "Never Use" is 1.0%. The average ratio of patients treated by constitution-based acupuncture to all patients is 47%. 1. Digestive tract disease is found to be the most effective disease with constitution based acupuncture. Musculoskelectal problems, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, neuropsychiatric disease and urogenital disease are followed. On the oriental medicine, spleen system disease is the most frequently applied and heart system disease, neuropsychiatric disease, liver system disease, locomotorium disease and pulmonary system disease are followed. 2. Acupuncture therapeutic measures are different according to disease. For example, Sa-am acupuncture is the most widely used for spleen system disease, locomotorium disease, heart system disease, neuropsychiatric disease, pulmonary system disease. Eight constitution medicine acupuncture is effective for ophthalmic & otolaryngologic disease. Conclusion : This study is to investigate constitution-based acupuncture technique. In conclusion, the most widely used technique is Sa-am acupuncture and it is the most successful in treating digestive tract disease.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to establish literatural evidence about traditional Korean medical physiotherapy through literatural review. Methods : Applicable paragraphs which were related to the traditional Korean medical physiotherapy were phrased from in "Hwang-je-nae-gyung(黃帝內經)", "Yumun-sa-chin(儒門事親)", "Geum-guei-yo-ryack(金匱要略)", "Eui-hack-ip-mun(醫學入門)", "Gyung-ack-jeon-seo(景岳全書)", "Eui-hack-gang-mock(醫學綱目)", "Dong-eui-bo-gam(東醫寶鑑)" where were archiving of Oriental or Korean medicine literatures. Searched paragraphs were analysed for establishing historical and theoretical bases of Korean medical physiotherapy. Results : 1. Theromtherapy is originated from yu(熨), hot hand, warm, water bath, warm earth, fumigation, lamp, torchlight and brazier. Matching indications are various musculoskeletal pain and diseases, skin diseases such as chronic inflammation, frostbite, gynecological and urogenital diseases such as uterine myoma, lower abdominal pain, metrorrhagia, breast diseases, digestive tract diseases such as vomiting, diarrhea, stomachache and also it treats cardiovascular disease. Other matching indications are sunstroke, rhinorrhea, psycosis and anal pain. And it used helping acupuncture therapy. 2. Cryotherapy is originated from lengfu(冷敷), lengtie(冷貼), cold stone and cold water. Matching indications are various fever disease, skin diseases such as acute inflammation, wound, fever skin disease, otorhinolaryngological diseases such as acute sore throat, otitis, stomatitis, nasal bleeding and contusions, abrasions, burn and dysuria. In addition, it treats extremity coldness, chillness, stomachache caused to accumulate fever. 3. Physiotherapy by circulating meridian system is originated from manipulation such as pushing, massage and beating to therapy point. Matching indications are musculoskeletal diseases such as various muscular pain, heavy sensation, convulsion, urogenital diseases such as dysuria, lower abdomen pain, digestive tract diseases such as stomachache, and paralysis due to blocked meridian system. And other matching indications are psycosis, leprosy, hypoesthesia, acute stroke. In addition it helps other therapy methods. In addition, the power of manipulation classify to strengthen and reduce. 4. Physiotherapy by balancing meridian system is originated from sunshine, magnet, horn, bamboo and tube. Sunshine helps improving self's care and cure inflammatory skin disease. Magnet's matching indications are paralysis, various injuries, abscess, fever and eye disease. Cupping therapy treats to skin diseases and internal diseases such as tuberculosis. Conclusions : Traditional Korean medical physiotherapy was widely used in traditional Korean medicine since ancient time based on the traditional Korean medical principle and anatomical knowledge. With modern physiotherapy and traditional Korean medicine together, effects of treatment are enhanced. And traditional Korean medical physiotherapy is appropriated to world physiotherapy's expectation.

In the etiologic diagnostic categories, diseases caused by static mechanical abnormality were most productive and 28.1% of all diagnoses involved in this category. 2. In the topographic diagnostic categories, 39.4% of all diagnoses involved the urogenital system and were obeserved most productive. 3. As a result of each topographic diagnostic categories were subdivided into disease entities, 13.4% of all diagnoses involved the retained placenta and this were observed most productive in the miscellaneous disease enties. Next productive diseases were miscellaneous ovarian disease (10.9%), indigestion (10.3%), mastitis (8.0%) and metritis (6.8%) chronologically.

Sexual dysfunction (SD) is a health problem which occurs during any phase of the sexual response cycle that keeps the individual or couple from experiencing satisfaction from the sexual activity. SD covers a wide variety of symptoms like in men, erectile dysfunction and premature or delayed ejaculation, in women, spasms of the vagina and pain with sexual intercourse, in both sexes, sexual desire and response. And pharmacopuncture, i.e. injection of subclinical doses of drugs, mostly herb medicine, in acupoints, has been adopted with successful results. This case report showed the effect of bee venom on SD. A 51-year-old male patient with SD, who had a past history of taking Western medication to treat his SD and who had previously undergone surgery on his lower back due to a herniated disc, received treatments using pharmacopuncture of sweet bee venom (SBV) at Gwanwon (CV4), Hoeeum (CV1), Sinsu (BL23), and Gihaesu (BL24) for 20 days. Objectively, the patient showed improvement on most items on the International Index for Erectile Dysfunction (IIEF) like 28 to 29 out of perfect score 30 for erectile function, 10 to 10 out of perfect score 10 for orgasmic function, 6 to 8 out of perfect score 10 for sexual desire, 10 to 13 out of perfect score 15 for satisfaction with intercourse, and 6 to 8 out of perfect score 10 for overall satisfaction; subjectively, his words, the tone of his voice and the look of confidence in his eyes all indicated improvement. Among the variety of effects of SBV pharmacopuncture, urogenital problems such as SD may be health problems that pharmacopuncture can treat effectively.

To prove the effect of Sagunjatang(SGJT) and Samultang(SMT) extract on the wave of Human Body and Active Oxygen experimentally, QRS & Free Radical of extract and precipitate of SGJT and SMT was measured. The results were summarized as follows ; 1. SGJT extract and precipitate, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of immunity & pituitary gland. 2. BaekBokRung of SGJT, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of heart & spleen. 3. BaekChul and Gamcho of SGJT, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of stomach & duodenum. 4. YinSam of SGJT, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of immunity & spleen. 5. SMT extract and precipitate, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of immunity & uterus. 6. SukJiHwang of SMT, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of immunity & liver. 7. DangGui of SMT, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of heart & spleen. 8. ChunGung of SMT, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of spleen & pituitary gland. 9. BaekJakYak of SMT, as a result of measuring QRS and Free Radical, had a considerable effect on the function of stomach & duodenum. 10. SMT extract had an effect on the function of female Urogenital system, SGJT extract had an effect on the function of male Urogenital system. These results suggested that SGJT and SMT extract might be usefully applied for suppresing of Active Oxygen formation, preventing the aging, curing all the disease resulted from Active Oxygen.

Purpose: We present our experience involving the management of this disease, identifying prognostic factors affecting treatment outcomes. Methods: The patients treated for Fournier gangrene at our institution were retrospectively reviewed. Data collected included demographics, extent of soft tissue necrosis, predisposing factors, etiological factors, laboratory values, and treatment outcomes. The severity index and score were calculated. Multivariate regression analysis was used to determine the association between potential predictors and clinical outcomes. Results: A total of 41 patients (male:female = 33:8) were studied. The mean age was 54.4 years (range, 24-79 years). The most common predisposing factor was diabetes mellitus (n = 19, 46.3%). Sixteen patients (39.0%) were current smokers. Seven patients had chronic kidney disease. The most frequent etiology was urogenital lesion (41.5%). The mortality rate was 22.0% (n = 9). Multivariate regression analyses showed that extension of necrosis beyond perineal/inguinal area and pre-existing chronic kidney disease were significant and independent predictors of mortality. Extension of necrosis beyond perineal/inguinal area was a significant predictor of increased duration in the intensive care unit and hospital stay. In addition, pre-existing chronic kidney disease was a significant predictor of flap reconstruction in the wound. Conclusion: Fournier gangrene with extensive soft tissue necrosis and pre-existing chronic kidney disease was associated with poor prognosis and complexity of patient management. Early recognition of dissemination and premorbid renal function is essential to reduce mortality and establish a management plan for this disease.

Urine contains protein and nucleic acid(urea, uric acid, creatinine, ammonia, amino acids), various organic and inorganic materials, vitamin, hormone, enzyme etc. The examination of gualitative or quantitative change of the above mentioned materials and picking up the abnormal materials are useful to diagnose diseases. The test strip for examination of urine is applied to the routine test, monitoring of medical therapy and recurrence, self monitoring, and screeing in preventive medicine. We have been using multitest strip for checking the bacterial infection(nitrite), PH, protein, glucose, ketone body, urobilinogen, bilirubin and occult blood. So it is possible to diagnose three groups of diseases as follows, abnormal metabolism of the carbohydrate, diseases of kidney and other urogenital system, diseases of hepatobiliary system and hemolytic disease causing abnormal metabolism of bile juice.

A six-month-old, male mongrel dog presented with wet ventral abdominal skin hairs and a short prepuce with penis. In physical examination, the penis was underdeveloped with fusion failure of the prepuce and the urethral opening was in the transitional area between os penis and perineal region. The radiological shape of urinary bladder was normal in positive contrast cystography and there was no any other routes except the observed urethral opening. Cryptochidism was also shown. It was diagnosed as hypospadia. Treatment included castration and resection of remnants of the prepuce and penis.
