Metaverse Platform Design for Strengthening Gender Sensitivity of MZ Generation

  • Due to a series of online sex crimes cases and online class conversions caused by the spread of the coronavirus, alternatives to sex education in schools are urgently required. As a result of this study, the metaverse sex education platform was designed. Using this platform, learners are expected to cultivate correct adult awareness and digital citizenship. Within the metaverse platform, learners can participate more actively in learning. Instead of exposing one's name and face in a place dealing with sensitive gender issues, one can participate in education through his or her decorated avatar and participate in education much more actively than face-to-face education and express one's opinion through chat. In addition, education by level can be received regardless of time and place, which can have the effect of bridging the educational gap between urban and rural areas. In this paper, we propose a new sex education platform without time and space constraints by utilizing metaverse.

도시와 농산어촌 아동청소년의 복지와 여가수준 비교연구 (Welfare and Leisure of Children and Youth in Urban and Rural Areas)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 도시의 아동청소년의 복지 및 여가 수준을 농산어촌 아동청소년과 비교하고, 아울러 그들의 삶의 만족도에 주는 요인을 규명하는 것이다. 연구방법: 한국청소년정책연구원에서 생산하고 있는 제4차 청소년패널 데이터를 활용하였다. 표 본수는 총 3,145이었고, 평균 연령은 17세(고2)이었다. T-test와 다중회귀분석이 분석에 사용되었다. 결과: 거의 모든 복지관련 변수에서, 삶의 만족도, 여가만족도, 부모애착, 교사 및 학우관계, 농산어촌 아동청소년은 도시 아동청소년에 비해 낮은 점수를 나타내었다. 비록 도시 아동청소년이 농산어촌보다 높은 스트레스와 학업부담을 갖고 있기는 하지만, 그들의 복지수준은 농산어촌보다 높다고 할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 그들의 스트레스는 곧 도시 아동청소년의 밝은 미래를 보장하기 때문이다. 농산어촌 아동청소년이 도시에 비해 높은 점수를 보이고 있는 유일한 변수는 지역요인에 있었다. 삶의 만족도를 설명하는 가장 영향력 있는 변수인 여가수준에 있어서도, 농산어촌 아동청소년은 불리한 상황에 있다. 농산어촌에는 여가시설에의 접근도가 낮고, 여가시설 자체가 부족하기 때문이다. 결론: 농산어촌 아동청소년의 복지와 여가수준을 제고하기 위한 방안으로 본 연구에서는 농산어촌에 대한 인프라 확충과 다양한 프로그램 제공을 제안하였다. 한편 도시 아동청소년에게 부족한 자연체험활동을 위해서 농산어촌 학교와 도시학교와의 자매결연을 맺는 방안을 제안하였다.

  • Due to the growing interest in eco-friendly and sustainable design in the architectural and urban planning field, we are witnessing numerous projects in which old buildings are being reused. However, with the exception of domestic apartments, there hasn't been a systematic approach or policy regarding the reuse of specific building types. On the other hand, we were able to point out two public building types, dong-offices and primary schools, that are expected to be underused, with future needs for conversion. Because the two building types are public buildings, we believe that their conversion must address the needs of the society. In this study, we have chosen 'social integration' as the ultimate goal of reusing public buildings. Upon the conceptual model of 'Housing-Mixed Public Facility', which was produced in a previous study, we have added other core programs that could be adopted into the model. Then, we applied the improved model onto the two building types by producing conversion plans and introducing key planning techniques. During this process, we have found some regulations that would not allow the realization of some models. Therefore, we have suggested amendments to the related regulations.

시력증진 프로그램이 초등학생의 시력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of vision care program for elementary school children)

  • The necessity of school health promoting projects is well known to many researchers, however, there is a lack of research on the development of strategies for school health programs and the evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs. The results of our previous study in 1996 identified poor eyesight as one of the several health problems among elementary school children in urban areas. The main objective of this study is to develop, implement, and evaluate vision care for elementary school children. The research method utilized a quasi experimental design using non-equivalent group, pre-post comparison. The sample consisted of all second grade children in two elementary schools in Kyung-giProvince. In order to prevent a contamination effect of the vision care program, one school was selected as a control and the other school was selected as a treatment group. The experimental school had 467 children and the control school had 402 children. The visual acuity of children in both group was measured and a survey questionnaire was sent out to parents on the knowledge, attitude, and behavior related to vision care before the program was implemented. The children of the experimental school received the following programs; separate education on proper nutrition and care of eyesight for children and parents, daily eye exercises using video tape, and an essay and poster contest on healthy eyesight. The eye exercise program lasted from March, 1997 to November, 1997. On November, 1997, visual acuity was measured again from children in both schools. The data was analyzed by using SAS statistical package. The results indicate that the children in the experimental group had significantly (p〈0.001) better eyesight than the children in the control group. Also, some of the behavior highly related to the poor eyesight are poor maternal eyesight and watching TV from a short distance. In conclusion, one of the significance of this project is that the vision care program was developed after the need assessment. It will be encouraged in the future that more school health program should be developed after a need assessment. Also, inclusion of family members was important in health promoting projects within a school setting since healthy behavior needs to be reinforced at horne as well as at school.

초등학생을 위한 비만고나리프로그램 개발 및 효과 평가 (Effects of a Weight Control Program for Elementary School Children)

  • The main purpose of this study was to develop, implement, and evaluate a weight control program for overweight elementary school children The results of our previous study in 1996 Identified overweight as one of several health problems among elementary school children in urban areas The research method utilized was a quasi experimental design using one group in a pre and post test comparison The sample consisted of 198 children from 3 elementary schools in Kyung-gi Province who were 20% over the ideal weight for their height Height and weight were measured and a BMI score was calculated at the beginning of the program and monthly thereafter. The program had three components: physical exercise, counseling of children, and health education of children, parents, and teachers. The program lasted from March, 1997 to November, 1997. The data were analyzed using an SAS PC statistical package. The results indicate that the overweight children in two elementary schools had statistically Significant changes in their BMI score after the program while those in one school id not. When the process notes were reviewed it was Identified that the school which showed little change averaged less physical exercise, and less parent and teacher participation in the program In conclusion, a school based weight control program is an effective way to manage and prevent obesity for overweight elementary school children It is suggested that a school wide exercise program may be better accepted by overweight children than a program specifically designed for overweight children only. One of the most important factors which determine the successful outcome of any health promotion project in school is the enthusiasm and cooperation of the principal and school health nurse.

  • 최근 지구는 이상기후를 원인으로 한 자연재난 발생에 의해 경제적 손실 및 인명 피해가 빈번하게 발생하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 자연재난의 하나인 설해 적응에 관한 것으로 도로가 위치한 지역의 지형적 특성을 중심으로 설해취약지역을 선정하고 그 위험정도를 제시하는 것이다. 연구지역인 부산광역시의 경우 도심 내 구릉성 산지가 많이 분포하고 있어 도로의 경사가 급하고 많은 산복도로가 형성되어 있어 폭설에 취약한 구조로 되어 있다. 최근에는 폭설이라 할 수 없는 적은 적설량에도 도로교통이 마비되고 학교가 휴교하는 등 큰 혼란이 발생하였다. 지구온난화에 의한 이상기후는 예측이 어렵고 그 피해는 매우 큼으로 관련 사회기반시설에 대한 적응정책이 마련되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 연구지역의 도로가 위치한 지형적 특성들을 중심으로 설해취약지역을 선정하고 행정동 단위 위험도 평가를 통한 위험정도를 나타냄으로 설해 적응정책수립 시기초자료로서 활용될 수 있도록 하였다.

초등학교 영양사의 학교급식 관리활동수준과 직무만족도의 관계 (Relationship between Levels of Dietitians' Management Activities and Job Satisfaction in Elementary School Foodservice Operations)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the levels of foodservice management activities and job satisfaction of the dietitians in elementary schools. Out of 130 questionnaires distributed to elementary school dietitians in Incheon, 127 were returned and analyzed ($98\%$ response rate). The questionnaire included two multiple-item scales for measuring foodservice management activities and job satisfaction, respectively. All the items in the scales were coded 1 to 5 for 'certainly no', 'no', 'neutral', 'yes', and 'certainly yes' and grouped by using factor analyses. Most of the responding dietitians were working for schools in urban areas and have independently managed on-site kitchens. The 19 items on food service management activities were grouped into 6 factors and the mean scores of the levels of Personnel Hygiene Management, Education & Training, Sanitation & Safety Management, Menu Quality Management, Service Management, and Environment Management were 4.76, 4.26, 4.24,4. 05, 3.61 and 3.39, respectively. The 23 items on job satisfaction were grouped into 4 factors and the mean scores of the satisfaction levels of Systematic Environment, Job Duty, Job Condition, and Physical Environment were 3.38, 2.83, 2.53, and 2.08, respectively. Overall, the levels of food service management activities and job satisfaction were positively associated with a correlation coefficient of 0.254 (p > 0.01). In particular, satisfaction levels on job duty itself and systematic environment were positively associated with the levels of overall management activities. The results suggest that improving dietitians' job satisfaction could increase the levels of management activities of school foodservice dietitians, resulting in quality improvement of school food service.

학교숲의 식재현황 및 인식 분석 -경상북도 지역을 대상으로- (An Analysis of Planting Status and Awareness on School Forest)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the strategic direction of school forest based on the analysis of planting species and status and environmental consciousness of students on 9 elementary schools in Gyeongsangbuk-Do. According to the results of analysis of planting status, the green space area of Ahwa elementary school was increased as $2,300m^2$ and the green space area of most schools was increased more than $500m^2$ by the construction of school forest. The planting species were surveyed as 109 species in total and the deciduous broad-leaf trees and herbaceous plants were identified by each 29 species. As a result of analysis of elementary school students' awareness on school forest using surveys, the ratio of students that know school forests is 58.9% and the ratio of participation is 20.7%, that is very low. Finally, in the direction for the desirable construction of school forest, the students evaluated by preferring the evergreen broad-leaved trees, flowering trees and fruit trees and they required the development of teaching materials and program and the quantitative increase of forest.

  • The status of facilities, management for the experiment, practices, teaching methods in middle schools have been investigated. The present status and reasonable management of the middle school science education have been grasped from the questionaires. To do this 125 secondary science teachers, 1,745 students and 70 principals of schools in Korea are administered questionaires of Science Education Reserch Institute of Kyungpook National University(1996). The results of this study are as follows : The reasonable management for experiments and practices of science education were scanty in the middle school around the urban and rural school owing to the shortage of facilities and equipments, crowded class, excessive class works for teacher, excessive contents of present textbooks and insufficiency of the administrative supports etc. The current teaching method of middle school science has emphasized knowledge. This fact does not satisfy the objective of learning due to lack of the teaching method. Desirable directions for the improvement of present status of middle school science education were proposed in this paper

영동지역 영양사의 1일 보행수, 활동계수 및 에너지 소비량 평가 (Assessment of Daily Steps, Activity Coefficient and Daily Energy Expenditures of Dieticians in Youngdong-area)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the energy expenditure and investigate the relationship between related variables of 57 dieticians in Youngdong-area. The average daily number of steps was found to be 9358.0$\pm$2714.3 steps/day on weekdays and 7862.9$\pm$2504.9 steps/day during weekends. Hourly step rates on weekdays and weekends came to 570.6$\pm$249.8 steps/hr and 564.0$\pm$224.8 steps/hr, respectively. Activity coefficient of subjects was higher on weekdays (1.56) than weekends (1.51, p<0.05). Resting energy expenditure estimated by the Harris-Benedict formula, WHO/NAO/FAO formula as well as formulas based on body surface area and DRIs (Dietary Reference Intake for Koreans) were calculated to be 1333.7$\pm$89.5kcal/day, 1351.0$\pm$123.3kcal/day, 1388.5$\pm$100.3kcal/day and 1295.9$\pm$90.8kcal/day, respectively. Using these resting energy expenditures and the activity coefficients, daily energy expenditures were calculated to be from 2039.7kcal/day to 2183.5kcal/day on weekdays and from 2016.1kcal/day to 2159.2kcal/day on weekends. Meanwhile energy intakes of subjects on weekdays and weekends were 1594.7$\pm$698.3kcal and 2152.9$\pm$768.0kcal, respectively. The activity coefficient (1.49) of dieticians who managed less than 500 meals per day was significantly lower than that of dieticians who served more than 500 meals per day. Dieticians of schools located in rural areas had higher activity coefficient (1.59) than those of schools located in urban or island settings. These results suggest that work analysis and development of management strategies are necessary to improve dieticians' productivity.
