A Comparative Study on the Status of High School Science Education (일반계 고등학교 과학교육 실태 비교분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the status of high school science education in 1982 and 1986. The same questionaire was used for the survey of high school science education which was developed by Yu in 1982. The questionaires were responded by the principals. science head teachers. science teachers and students. The major findings are as followings: 1. The perception for the importance of science education has been declined. 2. The support for sciene science education has been reduced. 3. The entrance exanination for university or college is the serious bottleneck of high school science education. 4. It is very hard for science teachers to teach science as inquiry through the true experiment under the current situation of high school science education.

Effect of Surface Morphology on Dimerization of tert-Butyl Mercaptan on the Surface of Amorphous Aluminosilicate Impregnated with Mn and Cu

  • A powder of destructive adsorbent was prepared by impregnating Mn and Cu on the surface of amorphous aluminosilicate. It catalytically dimerized tert-butyl mercaptan into di-tert-butyl disulfide on its surface. Turnover of the dimerization was strongly dependent on the surface morphology of the adsorbent, which could be altered by modification of aluminosilicate support. During the process of impregnation, which involved heat treatment at 500 ${^{\circ}C}$, the shape of the pore was preserved, though large fraction of micropores were eliminated. The reactive sites on the surface were poisoned as dimerization products strongly adhered on them. Therefore, high surface area was not always desirable. When the surface was heavily populated with “inkbottled” pores with a narrow entrance in uniform size, heavy poisoning of the reactive sites turned the destructive adsorbents almost useless.

  • In this study, ventilation flow rate and pressure rise through a tunnel are simulated numerically using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for various conditions such as roughness height of the surface of tunnel, swirl angle and hub/tip ratio of jet fan, and entrance and exit effects. By using a modified wall function, friction factor can be predicted with respect to the Moody chart within 10% of error for the circular pipe flow and 15% for the present tunnel. For more accurate design, the effect of the swirl angle and hub/tip ratio of jet fan, which is not included in the theoretical equation of pressure rise by jet fan needs to be considered.

  • In this study, with the finite element method we numerically investigate the deformation of liquid drops surrounded by Newtonian or non-Newtonian viscous medium in the axisymmetric contraction flow. 1, 2 or 4 Newtonian or non-Newtonian drops are considered and the truncated power-law model is applied In order to describe non-Newtonian viscous behavior for both fluids. In this type of flow the drop exhibits considerably large deformation, and thus techniques of unstructured mesh generation and auto-remeshing are employed to accurately express the fluid mechanical behavior. We examine the deformation pattern of liquid drops with viscosity dependence different from that of the surrounding medium and also explain their interactions by comparing relative position or speed of drop front.

  • 우리는 1 인 가구가 늘어나고 있고 주거 침입 사고도 많이 발생하고 있는 현재 사회에 맞게 도어락에 보안을 강화하고, 집안에 CCTV 를 설치하여 감시하는 서비스를 제공하여 거주자의 불안감을 덜어내도록 한다. 사용한 H/W 는 아두이노와 지문인식센서로 도어락의 지문인증에, 라즈베리파이와 웹 캠은 도어락의 얼굴인증, CCTV 에 사용하여 구축했다. 또한 도어락 인증에 성공하면 집 모형의 문을 열어주기 위해 서보 모터를 사용했다. 사용한 S/W 는 데이터 저장, 얼굴 인증은 AWS 클라우드 서비스를 활용했고, 스마트폰 알람은 FCM 을 사용하였다. OpenCV 를 사용해 움직임 감지를 하고, Flask, Ngrok 를 활용해 실시간 스트리밍이 가능하도록 했다. 어플에서는 관리자가 데이터를 관리(조회, 추가, 삭제)를 할 수 있다.

  • The aim of this study is to compare mathematics curriculum among the United States, Singapore, England, Japan, Australia and Korea and offer suggestions to improve mathematics curriculum of Korea in the future. In order to attain these purposes, the analysis was conducted in many aspects including mathematics education system, mathematics courses, mathematics contents, assessment syllabus for university entrance examination and the construction principles of mathematics curriculum. In the light of the results of this study, our suggestions for improving mathematics curriculum of Korea are as follows: revising the contents of analysis, geometry, probability and statistics strands; organizing curriculum based on spiral construction principle; providing various opportunities to select mathematics courses according to students'career; reflecting the contents of their courses in university entrance examination.

  • The purpose of the study is to analyze the operational case of gap year which can explore about guidance in some times before college entrance or during college life in the universities of main nations(England, American, and Japan) and draw from some implications for possibility of it's introduction in Korean university. It means that before students enter the college after finishing high school, they have various guidance activity and voluntary service activity for experiencing self-understanding out of regular curriculum. The study analyzed four universities in America, two universities in England, and one university in Japan. The main results indicate that the gap year can divide into system and university assisting finance. Based on the results and their implications of gap year case analysis in universities of England, America, and Japan, the study suggests that it needs to consolidate the related system of university and assist some finances, and systematic steps such as career exploration, career decision-making, career plan, and career preparation should be constructed.

  • A typical cerebrovascular disease among cerebrovascular diseases is vascular diseases such as cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral aneurysm, cerebrovascular stenosis. If the disease occurs and causes cerebral damage, it may be difficult to recover completely. So that, Must continue to perform health care through examination early. In particular, Because most cerebrovascular disease examining use radiation equipment and Thus this study was to find out how to select about the optimal examining method and X-ray dose decrease method among different examining method though comparison and analysis for the entrance surface dose (ESD) on cerebrovascular examining with Trance Femoral Cerebral angiography (TFCA) and Cerebral Computed Tomographic Angiography (CCTA). Also, want to find out how to select about the optimal examining method for worried patient that contrast medium side effect though measuring and evaluating for contrast usage. Data were collected from 70 patients (43 males and 27 females) who underwent CCTA at Yeosoo region hospital from June 2018 to December 2018 and 61 patients (34 males and 27 females) who underwent TFCA at Pyeongtaek region hospital from June 2018 to November 2018. ESD analysis method collected retrospective data though M-view and PACS PLUS program, Used contrast usage measuring method did reality measuring method. In the analysis using SPSS, the ESD of TFCA was $245.74{\pm}71.91$, which was $32.05{\pm}7.74$ lower than the dose of $277.79{\pm}79.65$ of CCTA ESD, and statistically significant at t = 3.249, p = 0.017 (p<0.05). As a result of the comparison of the total amount of contrast agent, the mean contrast agent used in TFCA was $55.05{\pm}17.68ml$, which was about 14.95 smaller than the amount of contrast agent used in CCTA, and statistically significant t = -4.548, p<0.001. In conclusion, the ESD of TFCA was statistically significantly lower than that of CCTA, and also the used contrast usage was significantly tiny than that of CCTA. Therefore, Select the method to increase the utilization of TFCA for cerebral disease examining, we can consider X-ray dose decrease method at the same time as to decrease side effect of contrast medium.

A Study on the Different Perception of University life and the Level of Academic Competency by the Entrance Type (입학전형별 대학생활 인식차이 및 학업역량 수준분석)

  • This study analyzed the thoughts of college life of students enrolled in each admission process to determine the level of academic competency. The satisfaction level of university life was analyzed among university students who studied at Dongguk University in 2012-2017 and the results were compared with the difference in importance and concentration of university life. Finally, the differences in scholastic ability around GPA were analyzed and compared. The results showed that students with pre-school grades were more satisfied with their college life than those with regular admissions. Although satisfaction with education is high during college life, it has been shown to be unsatisfactory regarding scholarships that are closely related to life. In terms of the difference between importance and concentration of college life, the greatest concern was with finding employment after graduation, but in reality the students could not focus on the current situation, but focused only on the current situation of grades and teamwork. The final admission GPA also showed that pre-school students were higher than regular students, and were able to adjust quickly to their school life and affect their satisfaction. Overall, education policies and programs are needed to understand the overall thoughts of university life and supplement them.

Field investigations on port non-tranquility caused by infra-gravity water waves

  • Field investigations have been carried out in two 60-day stages on the surf beat low frequency waves in Anzali port, one of the main commercial ports in Iran, located in southwest coast of the Caspian Sea. The characteristics of significant water waves were measured at three metering stations in the sea, one at the entrance of the port and three in the basin. The measured data were inspected to investigate the surf beat negative effects on the tranquility of the port. Using field measurements and complementary numerical modeling, the response of the basin to the infra-gravity long waves was inspected for a range of wave frequencies. It was concluded that the water surface fluctuations in the port is strongly related to the incident wave period. The long waves with periods of about 45s were recognized as the worst cases for water surfaceperturbation in the port. For wave periods higher than the mentioned range, the order of fluctuation was generally low.
