  • In this study, 1-3 type composite specimens were fabricated with PZT powders prepared by the molten-salt synthesis method and Eccogel polymer matrix. A virtual level-meter was fabricated with a 1-3 type composite probe and electronic unit for underwater application. There was no difference in values between a virtual and measured level on its level meter.

  • We are describing the architecture of a fuzzy logic controller using pulse-width-modulation (PDM) technique and a pipeline structure. Features of this controller are: A new architecture for the inference unit, reduced chip area and less I/O-pins. Additionally we present two different rule-bases: one hardwired with reduced chip-area and the other programmable for prototyping. Also an architecture of a parallel minimum-gate is shown.

  • 전기자동차 (EV)에서 구동용 모터의 토크 제어를 위한 인버터에는 제어 연산 및 고장 진단 기능을 수행하기 위한 MCU가 있으며, MCU는 상위 제어기 차량 제어 유닛 (VCU)에게 현재 모터 및 인버터의 상태를 주기적으로 전달하고, 현재 차량 주행에 적합한 토크 지령을 받아 토크 제어를 수행하게 된다. 이를 위해 MCU는 전류, 전압 및 위치 센서의 값을 읽어 제어를 수행하게 되며, 제어의 결과 값으로 pulse width modulation (PWM)을 생성하여 이를 통해 모터에 전압을 공급하게 된다. 즉 차량의 구동에 있어 PWM 신호는 가장 중요한 부분이다. 하지만 생산 불량 또는 진동에 의한 납땜 불량 또는 MCU 전원 고장 등으로 MCU에 고장이 발생하게 되면 이상 PWM을 생성하게 되고 정상적인 토크 제어가 불가능해진다. 이때 안전하게 EV를 정지 시키는 알고리즘이 필요하게 되며, 이를 수행 할 supervisor control unit (SCU)가 인버터 컨트롤 보드에 추가되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 고속으로 주행하던 차량에서 메인 MCU가 고장 날 경우에 안전하게 EV를 정차시키는 방법에 대해 다루었다.

  • PWM(pulse width modulation) rectifier has unit power factor and low harmonic distortion with high power conversion efficiency in entire loading range. These merits of PWM rectifier help the spread of DC distribution system. In addition, if multiple PWM rectifiers can be operated in parallel connection, maintenance process can be simple and reliability of power source can be advanced because of the hot swapping is available. The other way, the load unbalance among rectifiers can force a converter to stop by over current. The surge current by closed circuit composition between rectifiers can force switching devices damage. In this paper, some problems that can occur in case of parallel operation of PWM rectifiers and problem eliminating methods are considered.

  • A CRU (Customer Remote Unit) for KODAS(Korea Distribution Automatic System) is presented in the paper. This equipment works as a terminal unit for the Load Control and the AMR(Automatic Meter Reading). It is composed of control, drive, input, display, and communication parts. A CRU calculates and memorizes the active power, time-of-use, and demand by the pulse from watthour meter for AMR. It also transfers the data to Center Control System. It can measure current, voltage, and power factor by adding the simple circuit. For load control, It receives the necessary informations such as the load control periods, modes, and time intervals. It controls the load until the stopping commad comes. The system reliability has been proved using a prototype.

  • This paper presents the experimental study to confirm the basic properties extract the operating problems of SMES. A new fast control system including u-computer and 12pulse power converter are designed and fabricated. The experiment of 25KJ SMES discharge and charge is carried out by I-C (Inductor-Converter) unit using a new proposed control system. The proposed control algorithm is proved by the simulations and control properties tests. It is also confirmed experimetally that SMES connected I-C unit controlled by this control scheme has an effects on compansating freguency fluctuation by independent active power control.

  • Because of accident or leak of electricity, high voltage electricity can be conducted to vehicle chassis and damage human. Therefore the unit for detecting ground fault is necessary to minimize loss of life or equipment damage. Isolation resistance must be monitored for detecting ground fault. GFD(Ground Fault Detection) unit continually generate the pulse voltage between high voltage network and chassis. This will be sensing the returned current, calculate the isolation resistance and make decision the ground fault. This paper describes the method detecting ground fault.

  • "Side scan sonar" using acoustic signal has been developed to survey cable laying, sunken bodie\ulcorner bottom and so on. It use the acoustic signals, which are emitted from two transducer arrays, to get gemetri\ulcorner target area. This system consists of transceiver board, towed body, and deck unit. The transceiver board, w\ulcorner watertight canister of the towed body, controls the transmitting and receiving of 400kHz acoustic signals from \ulcorner After receiving the scattered signals, it processes the filtering, AGF(Automatic Gain Control), TVG(Time Heterodyne. The deck unit is composed of the signal processing part, A/D converter, power supplier, and real\ulcorner And the towed body has been designed to satisfy the optimal hydrodynamic behavior during towing. The de\ulcorner theory of transceiving part and some results from field-experiments will be introduced here.

  • In this paper we present how to design the software-based speed and position controller of a DC servo drive system for an educational robot. The controller designed by fully digital scheme consists of a CPU, drive unit, encoder pulse coding unit, speed and position detector. The control algirithm of the controller is a hybrid one such that speed control and position control are switched at some instant to get more accuracy. The experimental resusts of the proposed DC servo-controller show good performances for the position and speed control of the proposed educational robot system.

  • In micro-EBM, it is well blown that RC circuit is suitable for discharge circuit because of its low pulse width and relatively high peak current. To increase machining speed without changing unit discharge energy, charge resistance should be decreased. But, if very low, continuous (or normal) arc discharge occurs, then increases electrode wear and reduces machining speed remarkably. In this paper, RC circuit with transistor is used to micro-EDM. Experimental results show that RC circuit with transistor can cut off continuous (or normal) arc discharge effectively if duty factor and switching period of transistor are set up optimally. Through experiments with varying charge resistance, it can be known that RC circuit with transistor has about two times faster machining speed than that of RC circuit. Especially, it has prominent rise-effect of machining speed in low unit discharge energy, so that a high-quality and high-speed micro-EDM can be realized through RC circuit with transistor.
