Performance Analysis of Three-Phase Phase-Locked Loops for Distorted and Unbalanced Grids

  • This paper studies the performances of five typical Phase-locked Loops (PLLs) for distorted and unbalanced grid, which are the Decoupled Double Synchronous Reference Frame PLL (DDSRF-PLL), Double Second-Order Generalized Integrator PLL (DSOGI-PLL), Double Second-Order Generalized Integrator Frequency-Lock Loop (DSOGI-FLL), Double Inverse Park Transformation PLL (DIPT-PLL) and Complex Coefficient Filter based PLL (CCF-PLL). Firstly, the principles of each method are meticulously analyzed and their unified small-signal models are proposed to reveal their interior relations and design control parameters. Then the performances are compared by simulations and experiments to investigate their dynamic and steady-state performances under the conditions of a grid voltage with a negative sequence component, a voltage drop and a frequency step. Finally, the merits and drawbacks of each PLL are given. The compared results provide a guide for the application of current control, low voltage ride through (LVRT), and unintentional islanding detection.

  • For the rational aseismatic design of a structure constructed on the ground which has weakness for liquefaction or flow, it is necessary to predict ground deformation as well as force acting on the ground. In general, the prediction of liquefaction is based on solid mechanics while the prediction of flow is basis of fluid mechanics. Since liquefaction and flow occur continuously, unified analysis methods have been developed. Among of them is Rue-elasto plastic model that is based on small deformation theory. This methods, however, is not adequate for such a large deformable ground condition. In this paper, a large deformaion theory using the finite deformation theory proposed by Dietal and the updated lagrangian method is presented. In addition, the applicability of the theory is verified by 1-d consolidation analysis and flow tests.

  • The change into the information society converts people's daily lift into nomadic lifestyle, and this change of lifestyle needs to reinforce the portability in fashion. The purpose of this study is to know the historical diversion of the rallying system, characteristics and reason of this change after recognizing of the implication of fashion and portable methods. The carrying system from the primitive age to modern society was changed from use of body to designing potable equipments - belts, wrapping cloths, bags, pockets, etc. These are changed by modifying of the form of society and fashion. This change result from the development of technique, the entry of women in public affair, the change of life style, the impoverishment of nature. The carrying system of modern fashion means not only the spares in the clothing, but also a new attached system in which nomadic necessities are transformed or unified. The carrying system becomes one of the important details which designers cannot neglect in designing, and must be. developed with consideration of use and function.

  • There have been many studies on generation equipment and plant piping, but there is no significant study result on the heat transportation pipe. As such, this study established basic theory on the compensated method among buried pipe for regional heating, and further obtained the following results by applying the conditions of AGFW and NCHPP respectively in calculation of friction and maximum installation distance for the buried pipe. Friction coefficient according to the types and physical properties of soil, friction and maximum installation distance were compared to set the application value of friction coefficient according to the location of works. Calculation formula of clay load to be applied for calculation of friction was introduced to the formula of AGFW and the formula of NCHPP that has been used in Nowon district since 1997 to determine the difference and applicability. $120^{\circ}C$ and $95^{\circ}C$ were applied in temperature difference for expansion volume to compare the arm length at the curve pipe so thai it can be reflected in the design in the future. Maximum installation distance according to thickness of pipe was compared to present the necessity of unified specification so that same kinds of pipe materials can be used for same kinds of works.

  • In this paper, unified requirements of IACS on longitudinal strength of ships are investigated using nonlinear wave loads analyses under short term irregular waves. Also, analyses on IACS wave data were carried out for the purpose of presenting the guideline for future use. While keeping theoretical consistensy, the rule requirements for horizontal shear force, bending moment and torsional moment are newly proposed for the ships of large deck openings bases on the calculation results for 17 sample ships. The requirements for side shell hydrodynamic pressure are also presented. All the calculated results are compared with other Societies and present KR rules. These formula will be checked when corresponding requirements of structural scantling are determined.

  • Recently, a theoretically-sound design approach, using an elastic multilayer model, is attempted in trackbed designs for the construction of high speed railways and new lines of conventional railways. In the elastic multilayer model, the stress-dependent resilient modulus($E_R$) is an important input parameter, that is, reflects substructure performance under repeated traffic loading. However, the evaluation method for resilient modulus using repeated loading triaxial test is not fully developed for practical purpose, because of costly equipment and the significantly fluctuated values depending on the testing equipment and laboratory personnel. In this study, the paper will present an indirect method to estimate the resilient modulus using dynamic properties. The resilient modulus of crushed stone, which is the typical material of sub-ballast, was calculated with the measured dynamic properties and the range of stress level of the sub-ballast, and approximated with the power model combined with bulk and deviatoric stresses. The resilient modulus of coarse grained material decreases with increasing deviatoric stress at a confining pressure, and increases with increasing bulk stress. Sandy soil(SM classified from Unified Soil Classification System) of subgrade was also evaluated and best fitted with the power model of deviatoric stress only.

  • There are several types of distributed subscribers network using Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Very high-bit rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL), and Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS), The efficient and concentrated network management of those several distributed subscribers networks and resources require the general information model of network, which has abstract and conceptional managed objects independent of type of network and its equipment to manage the integrated subscriber network, This paper presents the general Internet subscribers network modeling framework using RM-ODP (Reference Model Open Distributed Processing) to manage that network In the form of integrated hierarchy, This paper adopts the object-oriented development methodology with UML (Unified Modeling Language) and designs and implements the HFC network of DOCSIS as an example of the subscriber network.

An Improved Analysis Model for the Ultimate Behavior of Unbonded Prestressed Concrete

  • An innovative analysis method is proposed in this paper for the determination of ultimate resistance of prestressed concrete beams. The proposed method can be applied to simply supported or continuous beams in a unified manner whether structure and external loads are symmetric or not. Through the iterative nonlinear strain compatibility solutions, this method can also be applied to the non-prismatic section/un-symmetrical composite structures under moving load. The conventional studies have used the failure criteria when the strain of concrete reaches 0.003. However compared with bonded case, the value of strain in the reinforcement is much smaller than bonded case, thus, unbonded prestressed cases show compressive failure mode. It is shown that the proposed method gives acceptable results within 5% error compared with the prior experimental results. It can be shown that the proposed method can reach the solution much faster than typical three-dimensional finite element analysis for the same problem. This method is applicable to the existing unbonded prestressed members where deterioration has occurred leading to the reduced ultimate resistance or safety. In all, the proposed procedure can be applied to the design and analysis of newly constructed structures, as well as the risk assessment of rehabilitated structures.

Structural response of concrete gravity dams under blast loads

  • Concrete dams are important structures due to retaining amount of water on their reservoir. So such kind of structures have to be designed against static and dynamic loads. Especially considering on critical importance against blasting threats and environmental safety, dams have to be examined according to the blast loads. This paper aims to investigate structural response of concrete gravity dams under blast loads. For the purpose Sarıyar Concrete Gravity Dam in Turkey is selected for numerical application with its 85 m of reservoir height (H), 255 m of reservoir length (3H), 72 m of bottom and 7 m of top widths. In the study, firstly 3D finite element model of the dam is constituted using ANSYS Workbench software considering dam-reservoir-foundation interaction and a hydrostatic analysis is performed without blast loads. Then, nearly 13 tons TNT explosive are considered 20 m away from downstream of the dam and this is modeled using ANSYS AUTODYN software. After that explicit analyses are performed through 40 milliseconds. Lastly peak pressures obtained from analyses are compared to empirical equations in the literature and UFC 3-340-02 standard which provide unified facilities criteria for structures to resist the effects of accidental explosions. Also analyses' results such as displacements, stresses and strains obtained from both hydrostatic and blasting analysis models are compared to each other. It is highlighted from the study that blasting analysis model has more effective than the only hydrostatic analysis model. So it is highlighted from the study that the design of dams should be included the blast loads.

Examining Customers' Continuance Intentions towards E-wallet Usage: The Emergence of Mobile Payment Acceptance in Vietnam

  • The purpose of the research is to identify antecedents of mobile wallet continuance intention in Vietnam. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to collect data from a total of 276 respondents. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was employed for analyzing the data. Five mobile wallet features - mobile application quality, mobile wallet familiarity, situational normality, payment security, and feedback mechanism - are introduced as fundamental elements, which influence customer' continuance intention to use mobile wallet in Vietnam. The results indicate that mobile quality application and familiarity can significantly influence perceived ease-of-use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU), but situational normality has an impact only on PEOU. PEOU and PU are positively related to satisfaction. On the other hand, payment security and feedback mechanism affect positively customer' trust. As a result, the positive effects that satisfaction and trust have on electronic wallet continuance intention are confirmed. The findings can be used to advise mobile wallet providers to improve their platform design and services to retain users. As a theoretical contribution, this study combines the Technology Acceptance Model, Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology to investigate the key determinants on continuance intention in the context of electronic wallet in Vietnam.
