  • In this paper we researched the development methods and design of the Ubiquitous Integrated Information System (u-IIS) that makes efficiently access the experts and various kinds of intellectual and material information of the universities. And u-IIS supports various communication and cooperation tools such as VoIP, Email, Unified Messaging, Instant Messaging, Web Conferencing, Audio/Video Communication etc. We gave our focus to the methods and design that makes it possible to effectively implement the u-IIS with the least costs based on the available databases and infrastructures.

  • In this paper, the authors introduce a high-speed microprocessor based on automatic vacuum capacitor switch with a modified digital filter design using distributed arithmetic. The automation trends particularly the automatic vacuum capacitor switch has helped ameliorate the power factor essentials and automatically triggered to close when the line current exceeds rated value. Microprocessor relays use digital filters to extract only the fundamental and attenuate harmonics. To provide optimum speed characteristics a distributed arithmetic based filter design in the microprocessor controller which not only enhances filtering speed but additionally enables lower power consumption at the cost of area has been introduced. The result is a unified description that describes a digital filter structure down to bit level.

Fractal equations to represent optimized grain size distributions used for concrete mix design

  • Grading of aggregate influences significantly almost all of the concrete performances. The purpose of this paper is to propose practicable equations that express the optimized total aggregate gradation, by weight or by number of particles in a concrete mix. The principle is based on the fractal feature of the grading of combined aggregate in a solid skeleton of concrete. Therefore, equations are derived based on the so-called fractal dimension of the grain size distribution of aggregates. Obtained model was then applied in such a way a correlation between some properties of the dry concrete mix and the fractal dimension of the aggregate gradation has been built. This demonstrates that the parameter fractal dimension is an efficacious tool to establish a unified model to study the solid phase of concrete in order to design aggregate gradation to meet certain requirements or even to predict some characteristics of the dry concrete mixture.

  • GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) Ground Station monitors navigation satellite signal, analyzes navigation result, and uploads correction information to satellite. GNSS Ground Station is considered as a main object for constructing GNSS infra-structure and applied in various fields. ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) is developing Monitoring and Control subsystem, which is subsystem of GNSS Ground Station. Monitoring and Control subsystem acquires GPS and Galileo satellite signal and provides signal monitoring data to GNSS control center. In this paper, the configurations of GNSS Ground Station and Monitoring and Control subsystem are introduced and the preliminary design of Monitoring and Control subsystem is performed. Monitoring and Control subsystem consists of data acquisition module, data formatting and archiving module, data error correction module, navigation solution determination module, independent quality monitoring module, and system operation and maintenance module. The design process uses UML (Unified Modeling Language) method which is a standard for developing software and consists of use-case modeling, domain design, software structure design, and user interface structure design. The preliminary design of Monitoring and Control subsystem enhances operation capability of GNSS Ground Station and is used as basic material for detail design of Monitoring and Control subsystem.

  • Design patterns can be classified as software reuse technique that might provide effective solutions to specific problems that occur repeatedly in software development. In particular, object-oriented design patterns are incorporated into various software platforms and frameworks to increase software productivity. This paper aims to support general guidelines relating to design patterns for Android-based game programming. The proper use of the design pattern could be effective in not only for software development productivity, but also for post-development software maintenance. This paper provides fundamental procedures and case studies for applying design patterns to game programming on the Android platform. Typical object-oriented design patterns such as MVP, Singleton, Observer, and State have been applied to the development of Android game programs.

  • In this paper, we proposed software design and construction methods along with instructional design theories in computer education. This research support a unified view of construction for starting instructional design. Ideas of concept mapping have been included in plans for software design based on these theories. Instructional design strategies are developed to allow teachers to easily form instruction plans and get an overview of the flow of the lesson content. We also analyzed the validity of these instructional design strategies.

  • This study compares the trend analysis for characteristics of design from 2007 to 2011. According to analyzed results for each year's jean fashion, the 2007's aesthetic feature was a unified and simple design. From 2008 to 2010, the design features were various and rich, and features of 2011 were defined by simplicity with diversity. S/S season's feature were more diverse and balanced than the F/W season. Particularly, washing techniques represent a distinct skill, regardless of season. An analysis of each collection showed that the Paris collection had different and diverse forms; however, it was gorgeous to enjoy the design of a young sense in Milano. London's jean fashion was pale, light, and a dull tone. New York's jean fashion presented a young and practical value to catch other's eyes. There is a need to increase and increase the expectations of customer desire and the high value-added jean fashion industry. New ideas need to be developed for varieties of design and expression of techniques.

  • The house method of today is the house form which is composed inside the space where it is unified in social change. Also the life method from left was exchanged with stand-up meal and it became simplification and also the form of So-ban changed in the life method which is controlled. If the ship construction trillion So-ban was the furniture which is used with putting first and today the So-ban with variation of form or the material changed with entirely different role. The So-ban of today was used in the pattern element which is form freely to appear, dual anger there is a possibility of knowing the fact that it is turning out with the So-ban which expresses a geometric pattern with the present-day sense. Today of the So-ban it will pattern it will rightly use Beak-je, the feature person who is the possibility this pattern showing It is soft with the sharp, soft beauty of curved line and rectilinear which is refined, omission and emphasizing which are bold today It applied in So-ban design.

Racing Girl Uniforms of Domestic and Foreign Automobile Brands at the Motor Shows (모터쇼에 나타난 국내외 자동차 브랜드 레이싱걸 유니폼 디자인 연구)

  • This study analyzed the expressions of racing girl uniforms that promote automobile brands shown at Seoul and Busan motor shows. The results are as follows. In each of the design components expression, the glossy and plain material, the achromatic color, and the dress style appeared most frequently in the uniform design of both domestic and foreign automobile brands. In the fashion image expression, sexy image appeared the most, followed by modern image, romantic image, active image, elegance image and ethnic image. Based on the analysis results, the following expressive characteristics were identified: First, sexy images were used in uniform design to express the streamline and speedy feeling of a car metaphorically. Second, modern image, glossy material, and achromatic color were used for a uniform design to express advanced technology and the future orientation of an automobile. Third, fashion images that match the automobile type emphasized the brand image of the car. Fourth, some of the manufacturers that prevailed in the automobile market promoted several automobile brands exhibited with a unified uniform design that expressed the design philosophy and concept. As such, the motor show racing girl uniform contributed to promoting automobile brand identity and the automobile industry.

Study on Characteristics of Urban Planning System and Design Guidelines in Singapore (싱가포르 도시계획체계와 디자인가이드라인의 특징에 관한 연구)

  • Even if Korea has established various legal guidelines as well as plans for the purpose of systematic management of urban citycapes, various problems have been pointed out, such as a decrease in operational efficiency because the legal framework is not clearly defined and the guidelines do not fully reflect regional characteristics. In the midst of this, Singapore is being mentioned as a representative example of enhancing international competitiveness by forming an outstanding urban cityscape through successful urban planning and operating system. Therefore, this study aims to suggest a direction for the improvement of Korea's urban planning and design guidelines by investigating and analyzing the characteristics of Singapore's urban planning system and design guidelines. As a result of the research and analysis, it was concluded that Singapore's urban planning system was based on the unified planning and management system. In particular, the Singapore Urban Design Guidelines provide differentiated guidelines to maintain and strengthen regional characteristics based on linkage with higher-level plans as detailed practical guidelines, and were operated as flexible guidelines reflecting the changes of the times and the needs of members of society. It also provides a direction for the improvement of the Korean urban design system, such as to increase the executionablity of the plan and the efficiency of operation by utilizing various guidance and support policies, rational and simplified deliberation procedures, and allow a platform that enhances the accessibility and convenience of related information.
