  • Recently, U.S. beef completely is opened and a point of present time, beef import market is increased, the high branding and high quality of Korea's beef cattle is urgent for a brand-name of Korea's Meat got competitive superiority in world market. Also, for that situation, Producers and Distributors request successful marketing strategy establishment and in the concrete, I present a counterplan strategy based on 4P(price, product differentiation, sales promotion, distribution) strategy.

한국과 미국 기업간 환경관리 실천차이에 관한 연구 (Study on the Differences of Managing to Environmental Issues of Firms between Korea and U.S.)

  • Environmental management systems offer a set of management tools and principles that can help integrate environmental concerns into daily business practices. Such systems have been in existence since the 1980's. This research identifies the firm's implementation of environmental management that is the most and least popular for managing the environmental management such as 3R's, EM, EMS, environmental awareness. This article investigates the differences of managing to environmental issues of firms between Korea and U.S. The research results suggest that the U.S. firms control of 3R's, EM and EMS better than Korea's, while Korean firms have higher environmental awareness than U.S. firms.

  • In Korea-U.S.A. FTA Negotiation, U.S.A. request to eliminate barriers of tariffs and non-tariff in trade of cosmetics. Korea applies tariffs of 8% on most cosmetics and personal care products. There are some non-tariffs barriers in cosmetics trade between Korea and U.S.A., for example, transparency on restriction and regulatory, cosmeceuticals, import clearance review, quality control testing, ingredient labelling. Tariffs of 8% on most cosmetics should be eliminated, a proviso of complementary measures on sanitation of Korean people about imported cosmetics. This is a meaning of reformation of prior management(tariffs) by strong ex post management in cosmetics trade. It is important that Korea should construct system of ex post management, for instance, construction of data base on manufacturer, importer, bland name of cosmetics and all ingredients of cosmetics. This is concerned with labelling of cosmetics and cosmeceutical and publication of Korean edition of INCI(International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredient).

  • 정보기술과 무선 인터넷의 발전으로 인하여 차세대 정보기술의 패러다임이 점차 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 (ubiquitous computing)으로 바뀌고 있다. 최근에는 기존의 상거래 서비스와 기타 서비스 분야에서도 유비쿼터스 기술을 접목하여 유비쿼터스 커머스 (U-Commerce), 또는 유비쿼터스 서비스 (U-Service) 형태로 변화를 시도하고 있다. 그 결과 대부분의 기존 유비쿼터스 관련 연구자는 유비쿼터스 서비스를 위한 네트워크 환경이나 플랫폼 중심으로 많은 연구를 진행하였다 따라서 본 연구에서는 첫째, 유비쿼터스에 대한 기존 연구를 요약 하므로써, 향후 이와 관련된 연구를 시도하는 연구자들에게 유비쿼터스에 대한 통합적인 시각을 제시하고자 한다. 둘째, 유비쿼터스 연구 동향과 미래 발전 방향에 대한 통합 프레임워크를 제시하여 국내외 기술 발전의 현 상태를 점검하고 더 나아가 미래 발전방향에 대한 통합적인 시각을 갖고자 한다.

국제상거래(國際商去來)의 사법통일(私法統一)노력과 우리의 대응(對應) (New Trends in Private International Law and Our Response)

  • During the past few decades, we have witnessed three approaches to overcome the legal disparities between trading countries: - determining the individual governing law in accordance with the conflict of laws principle; - unifying and harmonizing private international law into uniform rules and substantive laws under the auspices of ICC, UNCITRAL, UNIDROIT and various NGOs ; and - drafting model laws like the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce and promoting member countries to enact them. Against this backdrop, the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and the process by which it was adopted, established the benchmark for the unification of commercial law. The CISG, completed in 1980, merged civil and common law concepts and came into force in 1988 after a certain number of countries endorsed the treaty. Besides the CISG, the U.N. Limitations Convention and the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Law, to name a few, have attempted to set cross-border legal norms and standards in the international business transactions. However, since the advent of computer-based commerce, there have emerged all-out efforts to establish uniform rules before national legal systems have been developed. As a consequence, the Model Law on Electronic Commerce has become a specimen legislation covering functional equivalents of paper-based writing and signature. For the credit enhancement exemplified by the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (ICC Publication No.458), the UNCITRAL prepared the U.N. Convention on Independent Guarantees and Stand-by Letters of Credit, which was adopted by the U.N. General Assembly in 1995 but remains still not effective as only two countries have ratified this treaty so far. In this connection, two draft conventions underway at UNIDROIT and UNCITRAL deserve our attention as the probability of unification in the Korean Peninsula is mounting. They are to create security interests for commercial finance in moveable equipment and accounts receivable. The UCC-type security rights are regarded to be useful to enable the North Koreans with limited properties to borrow from the banks.

  • u-공장이나 u-물류와 같은 유비쿼터스 지능공간에서의 서비스 선택 및 제공을 위해서는 자연스러운 인터페이스가 중요하다. 자연스러운 인터페이스의 실현을 위한 유력한 방법으로 증강현실 기술이 주목받고 있다. 증강현실은 가상현실과 다르게 실제 환경 위에 가상객체를 증강시켜 제공해주는 기술이다. 증강현실을 이용하면 사용자에게 정보를 직관적이고 협력적으로 제공해 줄 수 있는 이점이 있다. 하지만 현재 유비쿼터스 지능공간에서 구동될 전자상거래 도메인에서 활용되는 증강현실 기술은 거의 존재하지 않으며, 있더라도 등록된 마커에 해당하는 사전 정의된 정보와 서비스를 정적으로 제공하는 한계점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 사용자의 동적 상황을 고려한 증강현실형 전자상거래 방법론을 제안하는 것이다. 이를 실현하기 위해 인지심리학 모형인 Rescorla-Wagner Model과 Galton 자유연상 실험을 기반으로 한 연상 알고리즘을 개발하였으며 개인의 상황에 따라 연상된 서비스와 이미지가 증강현실을 통해 동적으로 제공되도록 하였다.

미국(美國)의 전자자금이체(電子資金移替)시스템에 관한 고찰(考察) (Electronic Fund Transfer Systems in United States)

  • In recent years electronic fund transfers covered by the Electronic Fund Transfer Act 1978 for consumer protection and the Article 4A of Uniform Commercial Code(U.C.C.) 1989 for wholesale electronic payments in United States. Electronic fund transfers carried out by use of a wire transfer network, automated clearing house, or other communication system of a clearing house or other association of banks such as direct deposit, Fedwire, automated teller machine, point-of-sale, and credit card transactions have been increasingly common in consumer transactions and wholesale transactions. Especially, the Article 4A of U.C.C. governs the rights and obligations associated with transactions such as an issue and acceptance of payment order, execution of sender's payment order by receiving bank, and payment. These legal frameworks in connection with electronic fund transfers in United States can play a leading role in establishing model not only within the United States, but also as a basis for developments of electronic commerce law in Korea including other countries.

한·중 FTA 및 한·미 FTA의 환경조항 비교 (A Comparison of Environment Clauses under Korea-China FTA and Korea-U.S. FTA)

  • Korea-China FTA and Korea-U.S. FTA are the most significant FTA in volume and economic effect for Korea's perspective. Developed countries have dealt with environmental issues one of the main issues in FTA negotiation, while developing countries have been reluctant to it. Both Korea-China FTA and Korea-U.S. FTA have separate environment chapter respectively. A separate environment chapter was firstly introduced in Korea-U.S. for Korea's perspective. Both environment chapters provide high level of environment protection, recognition of multilateral environmental agreements, enforcement of environmental laws, and environmental cooperation. Both environment chapters require that each party make effort to improve environmental laws and measures. Korea-China FTA provides establishment a "Committee on Environment and Trade", and Korea-U.S. FTA provides establishment a "Environment Council" to oversee the implementation of environment clauses. Korea-China FTA and Korea-U.S. FTA have very similar provisions on environment and trade, and are expected to contribute to enhancing environment protection. However, a lot of provisions are somewhat declaratory rather than mandatory. Therefore, further environmental cooperation is encouraged to achieve the goals and objectives of the environment clauses and FTA.

국산 자동차 부품산업의 국제경쟁력 분석에 관한 연구 - 미국시장 수출 집중도 및 경쟁력을 중심으로 - (A Study on the International Competitiveness of Korean Auto Parts Industry - Focus on the Exporting Concentration and Competitiveness in U.S. Market -)

  • Korean auto mobile industry has been contributed to development on national economy for last 30 years. Especially, The fact is that latest increasement of Korean automobile selling is worthy of notice in U.S. market which is the biggest automobile market of the world. But development of automobile industry unattainable nothing of helping of auto parts industry. So, when we discuss about growth of automobile industry, we also have to consider role of auto parts industry at the same time. The purpose of this study was to analyze exporting competition of Korean auto parts in U.S. market by using Index of Export Bias and Market Comparative Advantage Index. For attaining the purpose of study, we classified the Korean auto parts which exported to U.S. market and the world by using the six units classification of the Harmonized System(HS). Also we measured Index of Export Bias and Market Comparative Advantage Index. Analyzing period was 1998-2004. The results of Index of Export Bias indicated that HS Code No. 8708.50, 8708.91 represented over 3 numerical value and 8708.92, 8708.60, 8708.39, 8708.29 represented over 2 numerical value. Additional results indicated that the Korean auto parts which gained exporting competition in the U.S. market were HS Code No. 8708.70, 8708.93, 8708.92. The products which will have exporting competition in the U.S. market would be HS Code No. 8708.99,

  • Although the fast advancing information infrastructure makes the connectivity possible to reach almost anywhere, it does not ensure a successful development of e-commerce for every country. The challenge will not come only from the technology, but also from the people. To examine the effect of cultural differences on the perception for Internet shopping, shoppers from two different countries - the U.S. and Korea - were chosen, and the perception for Internet shopping from each is contrasted.
