쿼드로터 블레이드의 공력특성 (Aerodynamics Characteristics of Quad-Rotor Blade)

  • Quad-Rotor, which consists of four blades, performs a flight task by controling each rotation speed of the four blades. Quad-Rotor blade making no use of cyclic pitch or collective one is a type of fixed-wing as different from helicopter blade. Although, Quad-Rotor is simple and easy to control for those reasons, blade configuration of the fixed wing is one of the critical factors in determining the performance of Quad-Rotor. In the present study, coefficients for thrust and power of Quad-Rotor blade were derived from the data acquired by using 6-component balances. Firstly, Measurements for aerodynamic force were conducted at various pitch angles (i.e., from 0$^{\circ}$ to 90$^{\circ}$ with the interval of 10$^{\circ}$). The blade used in this experiment has aspect ratio of 6 and chord length of 35.5 mm. Secondly, assembled-blade, which was an integral blade but divided into many pieces, was used in order to test aerodynamic forces along twist angles. The curve of thrust coefficient along pitch angle indicates a parabola form. Stall which occurs during wind tunnel test to calculate lift coefficient of airfoil does not generate. When deciding the blade twist angle, structural stability of blade should be considered together with coefficients of thrust and power. Those aerodynamic force data based on experimental study will be provided as a firm basis for the design of brand-new Quad-Rotor blade.

ITER TF 초전도 도체 개발과 특성 (Development of ITER TF Cable-in-Conduit Conductors and Their Characteristics)

  • As a participant taking part in the ITER TF conductor R&D program, we developed two toroidal field conductors with variations of conduit thickness resulting in the different void fraction of the conductors. The estimated void fractions of the conductors are 31% and 33%. In this paper we present the details of the TF conductor development and performance test results of them carried out by the measurement of current sharing temperature under cyclic loading. Regarding the conductor development, the internal-Sn-processed $Nb_3Sn$ strand characteristics, strand cabling, twist pitch and characteristics of the conduit materials are presented. For the understanding of the conductor design and performance, the conductor test results are presented and the effect of the conductor design parameters such as void fraction and twist pitch is discussed based on the results.

덕트 내 원심식 축류팬의 성능변화에 관한 연구 (The Study on Performance of an Axial Fan with Centrifugal type Blades in Duct flow)

  • This paper was a study about noise reduction through flow stabilization in duct using experimental method and numerical analysis at the same time. To determine the fan's type three kinds of fans(axial fan, centrifugal fan, and axial fan with centrifugal type blades) was examined to investigate the suitability for in-line duct. As a result, under the equal number of rotation 2000 RPM, performance of an axial fan with centrifugal type blades was the most superior by 55dBA at 4.3CMM among other fans. After this, analyzed the results of the numerical analysis to find out the optimum design of pitch angle such as $0^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$ and $20^{\circ}$. The intensity of turbulence was low when pitch angle was $15^{\circ}$ and air volume became peak by 5.08 CMM. It was observed that axis component of velocity increased gradually when pitch angle increased from $0^{\circ}$ to $20^{\circ}$, and embodied noise reduction and improvement of air flow rate through flow stabilization.

Finally, designed the shapes of D/S(Down Stream) in duct that agreed inlet angle($\delta$) of stationary blades with pitch angle($\beta$) of axial fan with centrifugal type and derived flow to duct medial, and changed the shape of motor-mount to reduce occurance of unstable vortex in tip of impeller, and embodied noise reduction and improvement of air flow rate through flow stabilization.

Uniform bend transition and twist retention time improvement in a bistable chiral splay nematic liquid crystal cell

  • In a previous work we reported the bistable property by doping a chiral material in a splay cell. The bistable states are the splay state and the metastable 180$^{\circ}$twist state. The retention time of the metastable state can be changed by the variation of d/p (cell gap over pitch), cell gap, pretilt angle, azimuthal anchoring force, liquid crystal material, and so on. In this paper we will present uniform bend transition and twist retention time improvement in a multi-domain BCSN LC cell by using the multi cell gap method.

  • This paper presents the analysis method of the instantaneous screw axis using line geometry in bump and rebound motion of 5-SS multi-link suspensions. Instantaneous screw axis is based on screw motion, and screw motion of zero pitch can be expressed as $Pl{\ddot{u}}cker$ line coordinates of line geometry instead of screw coordinates. In screw coordinates, twist and wrench are described by components of instantaneous screw axis. For instantaneous motion of wheel assembly, the principle of virtual work with twist and wrench is applied to 5-SS multi-link suspension, and it makes 5 linear equations. Therefore, it is possible to find instantaneous screw axis by solving these equations. This analysis by line geometry demands geometric values only, such as the locations of spherical joints in the case of multi-link suspensions.

Twisted Multifilamentary BSCCO 2223 Tapes by Using High Resistive Sheath

  • Different twist pitches of multi filamentary BSCCO 2223 tapes using high resistivity sheath were fabricated to investigate the effect of twist pitches on the microstructure and critical current property. A conductor with a high resitstivity matrix is possible to allow larger twist pitch for reducing ac losses and reduce eddy current losses simultaneously. The $J_{ct}$ values of 10 mm and 5 mm twisted tapes drop faster than that of untwisted and 20 mm twisted tapes under increasing magneticfield, especially in low field regime (0 $\sim$ 0.03 T). It suggests that weak links in the former are more serious than in the latter, which is in accordance with the microstructure analysis.

원관내의 이상선회유동 특성에 관한 연구 (The study on the Two-Phase Swirl Flow Characteristics in Cylindrical Pipe)

  • Many investigations have been made to determine the pressure drop and heat transfer characteristics for single phase flow in tape generated swirl flow. But few studies have been carried out to investigate the heat transfer in two component, two phase swirl flow with non-boiling. An experimental study has been conducted to determine the effects of tape twist ratios on two phase convective heat transfer coefficients, pressure drop, and void fraction distribution in a non-boiling, air-water, two phase flow. The flow conditions were both swirl and non swirl flows. The internal diameter of the test section is 42.5mm. The tape twist ratios of pitch to diameter ratio varied from 4.0 to 10.6. The heating conditions were isothermal and nonisothermal. The flow patterns identified with experiments were bubbly, bubbly-slug, slug, and slug-annular flow in up-flow. This study has concluded that no significant difference in void fraction distribution were observed both isothermal and nonisothermal conditions, the pressure drop for two phase flow with twisted tape swirler increase as the tape twist ratio decrease, and that values of two phase heat transfer coefficient increase when the tape twist ratio decreases.

봉다발 유동 내 비틀림 혼합날개 지지격자의 대류열전달 성능 평가 (Evaluation of Convective Heat Transfer Performance of Twist-Vane Spacer Grid in Rod Bundle Flow)

  • 봉다발 유동에서 비틀림 혼합날개 지지격자의 대류열전달 성능을 실험적으로 평가하였다. 시험부는 $4{\times}4$ 정사각 배열의 봉다발로 제작하였고, 모의 봉다발에서 봉 중심 간 거리와 봉 외경의 비는 ~1.35이다. 대류열전달 성능 평가를 위해 혼합날개 지지격자 하류에서 봉 벽면 온도의 원주방향 및 축방향 분포를 측정하였다. 원주방향의 경우, 지지격자 하류에서 비틀림 혼합날개 끝이 향하는 벽면의 온도가 가장 낮게 나타났는데 이는 비틀림 혼합날개에 의해 왜곡된 유동 때문으로 판단된다. 반면, 축방향의 경우, 혼합날개 지지격자 근처에서 벽면의 온도가 크게 낮아졌는데, 이는 비틀림 혼합날개에 의해 대류열전달이 향상됨을 의미한다. 비틀림 혼합날개 지지격자에 의해 대류열전달 성능은 지지격자 상류에 비해 지지격자 근처 하류에서 ~35 % 향상되었고, 실험데이터를 기반으로 비틀림 혼합날개 지지격자에 대한 열전달 성능 예측 상관식을 제안하였다.
