  • 튜명전극소재의 개발로 21세기에 디스플레이를 비롯한 응용제품들이 폭발적으로 증가했다고 해도 과언은 아니다. 특히, 광학적, 전기적 특성과 밀접한 관련이 있는 디스플레이, 터치패널 및 솔라셀 등에서 투명전극의 역할은 절대적이다. 한편, 최근에 투명전극소지에 이어 투명산화물반도체 소재가 디스플레이구동소자로 큰 관심을 끌고 있다. 즉, 산화물반도체 기반의 트랜지스터는 TFT-LCD의 대형화 및 고속화, AMOLED의 고집적화를 비롯하여, 저온 공정용 플렉시블 디스플레이의 구동소자로 주목받고 있는 것이다. 이에, 본 Tutorial에서는 ETRI에서 개발해온 투명 산화물 전자소자와 그와 관련된 TCO 기술을 집중적으로 다룰 것이다.

Polarized Raman Spectroscopy of Graphene

  • Raman spectroscopy has become one of the most widely used tools in graphene research. The resonant Raman scattering process that gives rise to the observed strong Raman signal carries information regarding the electronic structure as well as the structural properties. When polarization of the incident excitation laser light or the scattered signal is carefully controlled, more information on the electronic and structural properties becomes available. In this tutorial, the basics of polarized Raman scattering experiments will be introduced first. Then several examples from real research will be highlighted to illustrate the application of polarized Raman spectroscopy in graphene research.

  • Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) is a powerful tool to investigate the electronic structure of a single-crystalline solid. After the development of a two-dimensional electron detector, it became a basic experimental method in solid state physics comparable to other powerful tools such as x-ray and neutron scatterings. In this tutorial, I talk briefly on the basic principle of ARPES and its recent and future direction of development.

Exchange paradox and rational decision (교환역설과 합리적 의사결정)

  • In this tutorial note, we resolve debates generated by Exchange Paradox. In particular, we show that Bayesian solution is superior to frequentist's. Then, in terms of decision analysis, we show that any rational decision is superior to no-action policy.

  • Access Grid(AG)는 분산되어 있는 컴퓨터들을 네트워크로 연결해 슈퍼컴퓨터처럼 사용할 수 있는 Grid망을 이용해, 기존 화상회의 시스템과는 달리 원거리 사용자들에게 실재감 있는 그룹간 협업 환경을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 AG에 대한 개념 및 관련 연구에 대한 연계성을 소개하며, AG 노드를 구축하기 위한 장비와 소프트웨어의 구성·설치 및 활용 방안을 구체적으로 제시한다. 또한 국내외 AG의 현황 및 향후 발전 방향에 대한 논의를 덧붙여, 국내 AG 활동의 활성화를 촉진하고자 한다.

  • A clustering algorithms with dynamic adjustment of learning rate for GBFCM(Gradient Based FCM) is proposed in this paper. This algorithm combines two idea of dynamic K-means algorithms and GBFCM : learning rate variation with entropy concept and continuous membership grade. To evaluate dynamic GBFCM, we made comparisons with Kohonen's Self-Organizing Map over several tutorial examples and image compression. The results show that DGBFCM(Dynamic GBFCM) gives superior performance over Kohonen's algorithm in terms of signal-to-noise.

  • 최근 e-book이나 e-newspaper가 새로운 기록 매체로서 많은 주목을 받고 있으며 기존의 책이나 신문을 대체할 가능성도 게시되고 있다. 이러한 e-book 등은 새로운 휴대 정보통신기기로서도 새로운 시장을 창출할 것으로 기대되고 있다. e-book이나 e-newspaper에 사용되는 디스플레이는 기존의 TFT-LCD, AMOLED와는 다소 다르게 오랜 시간동안 내용을 읽더라도 눈의 피로도를 현저히 줄어야하기 때문에 e-paper라는 새로운 디스플레이가 제시되고 있다. 본 tutorial에서는 e-paper의 개념과 종류, 동작 원리, 응용 분야 등을 살펴보고 새롭게 개발되고 있는 e-paper 기술과 응용 제품들을 소개할 것이다. 또한 e-paper와 기존의 TFT-LCD, AMOLED와 비교 분석하여 e-paper의 한계와 가능성에 대해서도 토의할 것이다.

E-Business and Simulation

  • Simulation has been evolved with the advance of computer and technique of modeling application systems. Early simulations were numerical analysis of engineering models known as continuous simulation, analysis of random events using various random number generators thus named as Monte Carlo simulation, iud analysis o(\\\\`queues which are prevalent in many real world systems including manufacturing, transportation, telecommunication. Discrete-event simulation has been used far modeling and analyzing the systems with waiting lines and inefficient delays. These simulations, either discrete-event, continuous, or hybrid, have played a key role in industrial age by helping to design and implement the efficient real world systems. In the information age which has been brought up by the advent of Internet, e-business has emerged. E-business, any business using Internet, can be characterized by the network of extended enterprises---extended supply and demand chains. The extension of value chains spans far reaching scope in business functions and space globally. It also extends to the individual customer, customer preferences and behaviors, to find the best service and product fit for each individual---mass customization. Simulation should also play a key role in analyzing and evaluating the various phenomena of e-business where the phenomena can be characterized by dynamics, uncertainty, and complexity. In this tutorial, applications of simulation to e-business phenomena will be explained and illustrated. Examples are the dynamics of new economy, analysis of e-business processes, virtual manufacturing system, digital divide phenomena, etc. Partly influenced by e-business, a new trend of simulation has emerged called agent-based simulation, Agent-based simulation is a technique of simulation using software agent that have autonomy and proactivity which are useful in analyzing and integrating numerous individual customer's behavior. One particular form of agent-based simulation is swarm. This tutorial concludes with the illustration of swarm or swarm Intelligence applied to various e-business applications, and future directions and implications of this new trend of simulation.

  • This tutorial presents an approach to perform the PLS structural equation modeling using the R. For this purpose, the practical guide defines the criteria for the PLS structural equation modeling by reviewing previous studies, and shows how to analyze the research model with an example using the "plspm" which is the R package for the performing PLS path analysis against the criteria. This practical guide will be useful for the study of the PLS model analysis for new researchers and will provide the knowledge base for in-depth analysis through the new PLS structural equation modeling technique using R which is the integrated statistical software operating environment for the researchers familiar with the PLS structural equation modeling.
