Recently, a port city has been gradually expanding near coastal area, and many facilities for tourism and waterfront have been constructed near the shore. When storm surge developed by typhoon have occurred, coastal facilities have a lot of damage and failure with loss of life caused directly by the waves. Various barriers have been suggested to protect property and human life from disasters, they have not been widely applied though. Because they do not satisfy the recent trends that emphasize the surrounding scenery. In this study, a moveable barrier on revetment is proposed against wave overtopping. This moveable barrier has two function, sightseeing and protecting. In case of usual day, it is installed on the revetment and used observatory deck for sightseeing. When wave overtopping has occurred by storm surge, it protect coastal area through changing of flat deck to triangular barrier. The hydraulic and the structural performance of the newly proposed movable barrier was investigated through numerical analysis using commercial program. As a results, this structure has numerically good performance, and follow-up research is required through experimental tests though.
This paper proposes a three level buck converter utilizing multi-bit flying capacitor voltage control. The conventional three-level buck converter can not control the flying capacitor voltage, so that the operation is unstable or the circuit for controlling the flying capacitor voltage can not be applied to the PWM mode. Also when the load current is increased, an error occurs in the inductor voltage. The proposed structure can control the flying capacitor voltage in PWM mode by using differential difference amplifier and common mode feedback circuit. In addition, this paper proposes a 3bit flying capacitor voltage control circuit to optimize the operation of the three level buck converter depending on the load current, and a triangular wave generation circuit using the schmitt trigger circuit. The proposed 3-level buck converter is designed in $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process and has an input voltage range of 2.7V~3.6V and an output voltage range of 0.7V~2.4V. The operating frequency is 2MHz, the load current range is 30mA to 500mA, and the output voltage ripple is measured up to 32.5mV. The measurement results show a maximum power conversion efficiency of 85% at a load current of 130 mA.
Myeonghwalsanseong Fortress and Namsansinseong Fortress in Gyeongju are one of the few that have accurate records of when and who constructed the structures. Based on the monument commemorating the construction of Myeonghwalsanseong Fortress and the construction technique and structure of the fortresses confirmed through excavation survey, it can be induced that Myeonghwalsanseong Fortress was built prior to the 7th century. Meanwhile, Namsansinseong Fortress is believed to have been erected in 679, with the exception of one part of the wall found in the northwestern valley that was built during the first construction period of 591. Referring to the construction method of these fortresses in the royal capital, Gyeongju, various recentlystudied fortresses were reviewed to estimate the construction periods. As a result, Haman Seongsansanseong Fortress, which takes similar form with Myeonghwalsanseong Fortress, is believed to have been built during the mid-6th century based on the construction method and supplementary work method(i.e. Bochuk). Yangdongsanseong Fortress in Gimhae and Singisanseong Fortress, similar in their construction method, are also believed to be from the same period. Meanwhile, Jusanseong Fortress of Goryeong, despite the similar construction technique used, the construction technique used for Bochuk or limited Bochuk imply a time gap. Separately, most of the remaining walls of Namsansinseong Fortress appear to date back to the additional construction period, and Sageunsanseong Fortress in Hamyang and Dadaesanseong Fortress in Geoje that show similar construction method are set for the same period. Such conclusion was drawn from straight layer piling using the refined rectangular stones found in the fortress and the supplementary part remaining thereof. In addition, the study discovered a cross-section triangular water hole at Yangdongsanseong Fortress in Gimhae and Sageunsanseong Fortress in Hamyang and the trace of wooden fences constructed before the construction of stone-wall, reaping outcomes rarely found in this region.
The crystal structures of $Cd_6-A$ evacuated at $2{\times}10^{-6}$ Torr and 750$^{\circ}$C (a=12.216(l) ${\AA}$), and of the product of its reaction with Rb vapor (a= 12.187(l) ${\AA}$), have been determined by single-crystal x-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group Pm$\bar{3}$m at 21(l)$^{\circ}$C. Their structures were refined to the final error indices, $R_1$=0.055 and $R_2$=0.067 with 191 reflections, and $R_1$=0.066 and $R_2$=0.049 with 90 reflections, respectively, for which I>3${\sigma}$(I). In dehydrated $Cd_6-A$, six $Cd^{2+}$ ions are found at two different threefold-axis sites near six-oxygen ring centers. Four $Cd^{2+}$ ions are recessed 0.50 ${\AA}$ into the sodalite cavity from the (111) plane at O(3), and the other two extend 0.28 ${\AA}$ into the large cavity from this plane. Treatment at 250 $^{\circ}$C with 0.1 Torr of Rb vapor reduces all $Cd^{2+}$ ions to give $Rb_{13.5^-}$A. Rb species are found at three crystallographic sites: three $Rb^+$ ions lie at eight-oxygen-ring centers, filling that position, and ca. 10.5 $Rb^+$ ions lie on threefold axes, 8.0 in the large cavity and 2.5 in the sodalite cavity. In this structure, ca. 1.5 Rb species more than the 12 $Rb^+$ ions needed to balance the anionic charge of zeolite framework are found, indicating that sorption of $Rb^0$ has occurred. The occupancies observed can be most simply explained by two "unit cell" compositions, $Rb_{12^-}A{\cdot}Rb$ and $Rb_{12^-}A{\cdot}2Rb$, of approximately equal population. In sodalite cavities, $Rb_{12^-}A{\cdot}Rb$ would have a $(Rb_2)^+$ cluster and $Rb_{12^-}A{\cdot}2Rb$ would have a triangular $(Rb_3)^+$ cluster. Each of the atoms of these clusters must bind further through a six-oxygen ring to a large cavity $Rb^+$ to give $(Rb_4)^{3+}$ (linear) and $(Rb_6)^{4+}$ (trigonal). Other unit-cell compositions and other cationic cluster compositions such as $(Rb_8)^{n+}$ may exist.
When designing ships and aircraft structures, it is important to design them to satisfy weight reduction and strength. Currently, studies related to topology optimization using 3D printed composite materials are being actively conducted to satisfy the weight reduction and strength of the structure. In this study, structural analysis was performed to analyze the applicability of 3D printed composite materials to the flight control surface, one of the parts of an aircraft or unmanned aerial vehicle. The optimal topology shape of the flight control surface for the bending load was analyzed by considering three types (hexagonal, rectangular, triangular) of the topology shape of the flight control surface. In addition, the bending strength of the flight control surface was analyzed when four types of reinforcing materials (carbon fiber, glass fiber, high-strength high-temperature glass fiber, and kevlar) of the 3D printed composite material were applied. As a result of comparing the three-point bending test results with the finite element method results, it was confirmed that the flight control surface with hexagonal topology shape made of carbon fiber and Kevlar had excellent performance. And it is judged that the 3D printed composite can be sufficiently applied to the flight control surface.
Fine structures of retina of an ommatidium in dragonfly, having eyes of closed rhabdom type, were studied under light and electron microscopes. The ommatidia consisted of eight retinular cells distributed in a circular pattern and the retinular layer in turn can be divided into three sublayers according to the number of cells in the retina. Each retinular cell has different starting points in the retina and the length of retinular cells is varied greatly; the length of one distal retinular cell shows one half of that of others. In the middle layer, three proximal retinular cells interconnect the adjacent two rhabdoms which are triangular in the appearence of the cross section which in turn consisted of tubular, parallel and lamellated microvilli. The rhabdom is formed by three rhabdomeres, each of which is separated by $120^{\circ}$ between them, but they can be distinguished into two parts according to electron density. Around the outer part of microvilli composing rhabdom, electron density was much less than the inner part of the structure. The microvilli of the inner part appear to be connected to the cytoplasm of retinular cells. Rough endoplsmic reticulum with enlarged cisternae runs through the vacuoles in the outer part of distal retinular cells. Abundant mitochondria concentrated in the vicinity of rhabdom are found at the central part of the retinular cells, while in the area of immediate vicinity of the rhabdom, prominent vacuoles are observed. Above the rhabdom of an ommtidium stands a crystalline cone which is consisted of four cone cells arranged radially along the axis. The crystalline cone is surrounded by cells containing pigment granules. The outermost photoreceptor element of an ommatidium is corneal lens.

This study evaluated the overturning stability of portable tripod ladders used for high-altitude work such as tree management and pruning work in landscaping construction and management. Portable tripod ladders, which are included in general mobile or portable ladders frequently used in industrial sites, are supported in a triangular support structure, not a 4-point support like common A-type Ladders. In addition, since the working height is more than twice that of a mobile or portable ladder, the possibility of an overturning accident that threatens the safety of workers with a fall accident is high. Therefore, based on the overturning stability test specified in ANSI-ASC A14.7 and EN 131-Part 7, which are related standards for about 130 types of portable tripod ladders sold and used in Korea. An equation to calculate each moment according to working height was derived. Then, each calculated moment was compared to evaluate the safety factor for overturning and stability. As a result of the overturning stability evaluation according to each standard, when the provisions of EN 131-Part 7 were applied, portable tripod ladders with 8 steps in the rear direction and 6 steps or more in the side direction were evaluated as unstable against overturning, but according to ANSI-ASC A14.7 regulations. It was evaluated that the stability against overturning was secured in all directions and number of steps.
Three crystal structures of dehydrated partially $Co^{2+}-exchanged$ zeolite A treated with 0.6 Torr of K at $300^{\circ}C$ (for 12 hrs, 6 hrs, and 2 hrs) vapor have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group Pm3m at 21(1)$^{\circ}C(a=12.181(1)\;{\AA},\;a=12.184(1)\;{\AA},\;and\;a=12.215(1)\;{\AA})\;respectively)$. Their structures were refined to the final error indices, R(weight) of 0.090 with 10 reflections, 0.091 with 82 reflections, and 0.090 with 80 reflections, respectively, for which $1>\sigma(I)$. In each structure, all four $Co^{2+}$ and four $Na^+$ ions to be reduced by K atoms. The cobalt and sodium atoms produced are no longer found in the zeolite. K species are found at five different crystallographic sites: three $K^+$ ions lie at the planes of 8-rings, filling that position, ca. 11.5 K^+$ ions lie on threefold axes, ca. 4.0 in the large cavity and ca. 4.0 in the sodalite cavity, and ca. 0.5 $K^+$ ion is found near a 4-ring. ca. three $K^0$ atoms are found deep into the large cavity on threefold axes. In these structures, crystallographic results show that cationic tetrahedral $K_4$ (and/or triangular $K_3$) clusters have formed in the sodalites of zeolite A. The $K_4$ and/or $K_3$ clusters coordinate trigonally to three oxygens of a six-oxygen ring. The partially reduced ions of these clusters interact primarily with oxygen atoms of the zeolite structure rather than with each other. ca. 14.5K species are found per unit cell, more than the twelve $K^+$ ions needed to balance the anionic charge of zeolite framework, indicating that sorption of $K^0$ has occurred. The three $K^0$ atoms in the large cavity are closely associated with three out of four $K^+$ ions in the large cavity to form $K_7^{4+}$ clusters. The $K_7^{4+}$ cluster not interacts primarily with framework oxygens.
Three crystal structures of dehydrated $Ag^+$-and $Ca^{2+}$- exchanged zeolite $A(Ag_4Ca_4-A,\;Ag_^Ca_3-A,\;and\;Ag_8Ca_2-A)$ treated at 250${\circ}C$ with 0.1 Torr of Rb vapor have been determined by single-crystal x-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group Pm3m at 21(1)${\circ}C$ (a=12,271(1)${\AA}$, 12.255(1)${\AA}$, and 12.339(1)${\AA}$, respectively). Their structures were refined to the final error indices. R(weighted) of 0.072 with 130 reflections, 0.050 with 110 reflections, and 0.083 with 86 reflections, respectively, for which $I>3{\rho}(I)$. In each structure, Rb species are found at three different crystallographic sites:3$Rb^+$+ions per unit cell are located at 8-ring centers, ca. 5.6 to 6.4 $Rb^+$ ions are found opposite 6-rings on threefold axes in the large cavity, and ca. 2.5 to 3.0 $Rb^+$ ions are found on threefold axes in the sodalite unit. Also, Ag species are found at two different crystallographic stites: ca. 0.7 to 2.1 $Ag^+$ lie opposite 4-rings and ca. 2.2 to 4.8 Ag atoms are located near the center of the large cavity. In these structures, the numbers of Ag atoms per unit cell are 2.2, 2.4, and 4.8, respectively, and these may form hexasilver clusters at the centers of the large cavities. The $Rb^+$ ions, by blocking 8-rings, may have prevented silver from migrating out of the structure. Each hexasilver cluster is stabilized by coordination to up to 13 $Rb^+$ions. An excess absorption of about 0.8 Rb atom per unit cell indicates that the presence of a triangular symmetric $(Rb_3)2^{+}$ cation in sodalite cavity. At least one large-cavity six-ring $Rb^+$ ion must necessarily approach this cluster and may be viewed as a member of it to give $(Rb)_4^{3+}$, $(Rb)_5^{4+}$ or $(Rb)_6^{5+}$.
In this paper we propose a new mesh reconstruction scheme that produces a displaced subdivision surface directly from unorganized points. The displaced subdivision surface is a new mesh representation that defines a detailed mesh with a displacement map over a smooth domain surface, but original displaced subdivision surface algorithm needs an explicit polygonal mesh since it is not a mesh reconstruction algorithm but a mesh conversion (remeshing) algorithm. The main idea of our approach is that we sample surface detail from unorganized points without any topological information. For this, we predict a virtual triangular face from unorganized points for each sampling ray from a parameteric domain surface. Direct displaced subdivision surface reconstruction from unorganized points has much importance since the output of this algorithm has several important properties: It has compact mesh representation since most vertices can be represented by only a scalar value. Underlying structure of it is piecewise regular so it ran be easily transformed into a multiresolution mesh. Smoothness after mesh deformation is automatically preserved. We avoid time-consuming global energy optimization by employing the input data dependant mesh smoothing, so we can get a good quality displaced subdivision surface quickly.
