In Korea, consumer researches have been accomplished in the field of family economics or business management individually. The field of consumer studies progressed in both sides of quantity and quality since the establishment of the Korean Society of Consumer Studies(KSCS). The field of consumer studies is moving toward an uni-disciplinary stage from an interdisciplinary stage. In this time, it is very meaningful to review the research trend in consumer science and to look out the future prospect. This study reviewed and analyzed all of the papers published in Journal of Korean Home Economics Association from 1980 to 1999, Journal of Korean Home Management Association from 1984 to 1999 and Journal of Consumer Studies from 1990 to 1999.

The purpose of this study is to analyze menu-related research. The findings are as follows. First, menu-related studies have concentrated on menu engineering, menu management, menu development. Therefore, researchers must be diversified the field of researches. Second, methodology of menu-related studies has concentrated on survey research and literature research. Therefore, experiment research and case study must be done. Third, the objects of menu-related research have centered on hotels and family restaurants, so researchers should study diverse objects. Finally, techniques of statistics must be applied in various ways.

Physical and psychological events can produce stress response in various degrees. Stress affects many aspects of physiology including both brain and peripheral elements which is represented as hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis. Brain elements consist of corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH), locus ceruleus(LC)-norepinephrine(NE)/autonomic system. Peripheral elements include pituitary-adrenal axis and the autonomic nervous system, which coordinate the stress response. Current trend of the stress researches is emphasizing the mechanisms of the stress response which is adaptive or become maladaptive. This review introduces 1) the concepts of stress, 2) physiological and behavioral aspects of stress responses, 3) the consequences of stress response, 4) the measurements of stress and 5) stress management for those interested in stress research.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to analyse research trend on alopecia including androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, etc.Methods : We searched Pubmed, CNKI and OASIS on the title "alopecia" in recent 5 years.Results : We found 23 studies on Pubmed, 20 on CNKI, and 3 on OASIS about treatments of alopecia. The subjects of them were about 5α-reductase inhibitor, Minoxidil, steroids, immunosuppression, laser therapy, PRP, microneedling, stem cell, herbal medicine, integrative medicine, external treatments and syndrome differentiation.Conclusions : In recent studies in western medicine were about combination therapy or safety and presented validities and superiorities about new treatments. Integrative medicine, external treatment and researches about patients' characteristics were reported in TCM. Korean medicine has advantages of considering whole body and phychological problems.

We have newly constructed an in silico model of fermentative metabolism for Lactococcus lactis in order to analyze the characteristics of metabolite flux for dynamic network. A rigorous mathematical model for metabolic flux has been developed and simulation researches have been performed by using GEPASI program. In this simulation task, we were able to predict the whole flux distribution trend for lactate metabolism and analyze the flux ratio on the pyruvate branch point by using metabolic flux analysis(MFA). And we have studied flux control coefficients of key reaction steps in the model by using metabolic control analysis(MCA). The role of pyruvate branch seems to be essential for the secretion of lactate and other organic byproducts. Then we have made an effort to elucidate its metabolic regulation characteristics and key reaction steps, and find an optimal condition for the production of lactate.

저공해 소각 시스템이 구성되어 현재 폐기물처리의 주축을 이루고 있으나 경제 발전과 환경에 대한 인식, 재활용을 위한 분리수거율 향상 등으로 인하여 폐기물의 발열량이 점차 증가되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 높은 발열량을 이용한 에너지의 효율적 이용에 대한 요구와 소각로에서 필수적으로 수반되는 중금속 ash문제, dioxin의 저감문제 등을 보다 효과적으로 처리하는 방법에 대한 연구가 끊임없이 지속되어 왔다. 여기에서는 최근에 가장 현실적으로 접근되고 있는 열분해시스템, 열분해용융시스템, 열분해가스화용융시스템의 대표적인 설비에 관하여 기술하였다.

Mitochondria play a key role in maintaining life by producing ATP and heat. Recent researches have demonstrated that degenerative diseases such as heart failure, obesity/diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and psychiatric diseases are accompanied by mitochondria dysfunction. In this sense, mitochondria medicine considers the significance of mitochondria in human pathology and tries to explain degenerative diseases as a fatal consequence of mitochondria dysfunction. Here, I introduce the fundamentals of mitochondria physiology and present examples showing the relationship between mitochondria dysfunction and chronic complex diseases. Although mitochondria medicine uses a molecular biological approach predominantly, a biomedical engineering approach might play a critical role in unveiling the complexity of mitochondria medicine and in its application to the diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases. Thus, I also briefly review the prospects of research using biomedical engineering methods.

Quality of industrial crops is considered to have three categories : the nutritional value, functional value, shape and appearance. The frame of this article are composed of five section : major oil crops, sesame, perilla, peanut, rape seed, and medicinals. The authors are reviewed and discussed on the current status and prospects of the quality evaluation and researches in industrial crops to provide and refers the condensed informations on the their quality.

For a good design, it is important to understand consumers and trend of textile and fashion design. Previous researches on textile pattern design with CAD have been done. They have studied on Korean traditional floral motives/hand painting or some geometric patterns. Few studies have been done on conversational design. Therefore the purpose of study was to observe types of textile pattern design for the recent fiver years and determine fabric pattern trends, especially on the conversational motifs. The types of patterns were analysed with professional panels from the 2005～2009 collection sources, using SPSS program. This study was also develop textile patterns creating using CAD. We conducted design process on motif creating, repeat, and mapping jobs, using textile special design program Prima vision and Photoshop CS3.

우리나라는 아직도 화재경계지구로 분류된 노후화된 주택 또는 시장, 밀집지역이 많이 분포하고 있으며, 이는 자연재해로 인한 화재 발생 시 매우 취약하며 이러한 특성이 도시화재가 될 가능성이 높다. 그러나 아직 우리나라에는 연구 및 대응책이 미비하며, 이에 국내 외 도시화재 특징 및 연구동향을 분석하여 도시화재에 대한 기초연구 자료로의 제시 및 향후 연구방향에 대하여 모색하고자 한다.
