A simply supported pipe conveying fluid and two moving masses upon it constitute this nitration system. The equation of motion is derived by using Lagrange's equation. The influence of the velocities of two moving masses, the distance between two moving masses, and the velocities of fluid flow in the pipe have been studied on the dynamic behavior of a simply supported pipe by numerical method. The velocities of fluid flow are considered with in its critical values of a simply supported pipe without moving masses upon It. Their coupling effects on the transverse vibration of a simply supported pipe are inspected too. As the velocity of two moving masses increases, the deflection of a simply supported pipe is increased and the frequency of transverse vibration of a simply supported pipe is not varied. In case of small distance between two masses, the maximum deflection of the pipe occur when the front mass arrive at midspan. Otherwise as the distance get larger, the position of the front masses where midspan deflection is maximum moves beyond the midpoint of a simply supported pipe. The deflection of a simply supported pipe is increased by coupling of the velocities of moving masses and fluid flow.
Blasting vibrations of 3 quarries and 5 construction sites were measured and investigated with two reference data. Square and cubic root scaled distance were similar in fitness to peak particle velocity of individual blasting site, but the former is better fitted in total. It was suggested that the limit scaled distance for domestic surface blasting be 40kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ for 10mm/s level and 60kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ for 5mm/s level, which were lower than the OSM's regulation. Prevailing vibration components were in the order of radial, vertical and transverse directions. Prevailing vibration components were in the order of radial, vertical and transverse directons. Site factors K and m were 242 and -1.283 for all studied area, 357 and -1.348 for construction sites, 118 and -1.160 for quarries. Most prevailing frequency was in the range of 10~2Hz. Overlapping effect of delayed blasting vibrations were insignificant. Vibration history of delayed blasting was longer than simultaneous blasting, and it became longer as measuring distance increased. Wave form and predominant frequencies were more complicated for delayed blasting than instantaneous blasting. The influence of blasting scale and measuring distance were not significant to determine peak particle velocity equation.
An accurate plate theory for assessing sandwich structures is of interest in order to provide precise results. Hence, this paper develops Layer-Wise (LW) theory for reaching precise results in terms of buckling and vibration behavior of Functionally Graded Carbon Nanotube-Reinforced Composite (FG-CNTRC) annular nanoplates. Furthermore, for simulating the structure much more realistic, its edges are elastically restrained against in-plane and transverse displacement. The nano structure is integrated with piezoelectric layers. Four distributions of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs) along the thickness direction of the core layer are investigated. The Differential Quadrature Method (DQM) is utilized to solve the motion equations of nano structure subjected to the electric field. The influence of various parameters is depicted on both critical buckling load and frequency of the structure. The accuracy of solution procedure is demonstrated by comparing results with classical edge conditions. The results ascertain that the effects of different distributions of CNTs and their volume fraction are significant on the behavior of the system. Furthermore, the amount of in-plane and transverse spring coefficients plays an important role in the buckling and vibration behavior of the nano-structure and optimization of nano-structure design.

Free vibration analysis of power law and sigmoidal sandwich plates made up of functionally graded materials (FGMs) has been carried out using finite element based higher-order zigzag theory. The present model satisfies all-important conditions such as transverse shear stress-free conditions at the plate's top and bottom surface along with continuity condition for transverse stresses at the interface. A Nine-noded C0 finite element having eleven degrees of freedom per node is used during the study. The present model is free from the requirement of any penalty function or post-processing technique and hence is computationally efficient. The present model's effectiveness is demonstrated by comparing the present results with available results in the literature. Several new results have been proposed in the present work, which will serve as a benchmark for future works. It has been observed that the material variation law, power-law exponent, skew angle, and boundary condition of the plate widely determines the free vibration behavior of sandwich functionally graded (FG) plate.
In this article, the buckling and free vibration of multi-directional FGM sandwich plates are investigated. The material properties of FGM sandwich plates are assumed to be varying continuously in the in the longitudinal, transverse and thickness directions. The material properties are evaluated based on Voigt's micro-mechanical model considering power law distribution method with arbitrary power index. Equations of motion for the buckling and vibration analysis of multi-directional FGM sandwich plate are obtained based on refined shear deformation theory. Analytical solution for simply supported multidirectional FGM sandwich plate is carried out using Navier's solution technique. The FGM sandwich plate considered in this work has a homogeneous ceramic core and two functionally graded face sheets. Influence of volume fraction index in the longitudinal, transverse and thickness direction, layer thickness, and geometrical parameter over natural frequency and critical buckling load of multi-directional FGM sandwich plate is investigated. The finding shows a multi-directional functionally graded structures perform better compared to uni-directional gradation. Hence, critical grading parameters have been identified which will guide researchers in selecting fabrication routes for improving the performance of such structures.

In the present work, a comparative study has been carried out between power, exponential, and sigmoidal sandwich FGM plates for free vibration conditions under hygro-thermal conditions. Rules of mixture is used to determine effective material properties across the thickness for power-law and sigmoid sandwich FGM plates. Exponential law is used to plot effective material properties for exponentially graded sandwich FGM plates. Temperature and moisture dependent material properties were used during the analysis. Free vibration analysis is carried out using recently proposed finite element based HOZT. Present formulation satisfies interlayer transverse stress continuity conditions at interfaces and transverse shear stress-free conditions at the plate's top and bottom surfaces. The present model is free from any penalty or post-processing requirements. Several new results are reported in the present work, especially for unsymmetric sandwich FGM plates and exponential and sigmoidal sandwich FGM plates.
Slip displacement is brought into focus to study the tube fretting wear that occurs on the contact by the springs. An oscillating tube was in contact with plate support springs. The contact condition was varied as normal force 5 N, and gaps of 0.1 and 0.2 mm in the experiment. The oscillation range of the tube was also varied as 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.7 mm. Formulas for predicting the slip displacement range were derived in terms of the vibration amplitudes measured during the tube oscillation. It was found that the slip displacement in transverse direction was much higher ($720{\sim}33000$ times) than that in axial one. This resulted in the severer wear on the contact suffered from transverse slip.

In general, forces acting on aerospace structures can be divided into two categories-a) conservative forces and b) nonconservative forces. Aeroelastic effects occur due to highly flexible nature of the structure, coupled with the unsteady aerodynamic forces, causing unbounded static deflection (divergence) and dynamic oscillations (flutter). Flexible wing panels subjected to jet thrust and missile type of structures under end rocket thrust are nonconservative systems. Here the structural elements are subjected to follower kind of forces; as the end thrust follow the deformed shape of the flexible structure. When a structure is under a constant follower force whose direction changes according to the deformation of the structure, it may undergo static instability (divergence) where transverse natural frequencies merge into zero and dynamic instability (flutter), where two natural frequencies coincide with each other resulting in the amplitude of vibration growing without bound. However, when the follower forces are pulsating in nature, another kind of dynamic instability is also seen. If certain conditions are satisfied between the driving frequency and the transverse natural frequency, then dynamic instability called 'parametric resonance' occurs and the amplitude of transverse vibration increases without bound. The present review paper will discuss the aeroelastic behaviour of aerospace structures under nonconservative forces.
Rotatory two-phase transverse flux machine(TFM) is a relatively new type of motor with high power density, high torque, and low speed in comparison to conventional electrical motors. However, it has some shortcomings,.i.e. complex construction and high possibility of the magnetically induced nitration due to its inherent structure. This Paper investigates the characteristics of the magnetic force and the torque in the rotatory two-phase TFM by using the 3-D finite element method and the spectral analysis. This research shows that the average torque decreases and that the torque ripple increases as the phase delay increases. It also shows that the unbalanced magnetic force is one of the dominant excitation forces in this machine. And it proposes a new topology of rotatory two-phase TFM to eliminate the unbalanced magnetic force.
One-dimensional rod theory is very effective as a simplified analytical approach to large scale or complicated structures such as high-rise buildings, in preliminary design stages. It replaces an original structure by a one-dimensional rod which has an equivalent stiffness in terms of global properties. The mechanical behavior of structures composed of distinct constituents of different stiffness such as coupled walls with opening is significantly governed by the local variation of stiffness. Furthermore, in structures with setback the distribution of the longitudinal stress behaves remarkable nonlinear behavior in the transverse-wise. So, the author proposed the two-dimensional rod theory as an extended version of the rod theory which accounts for the two-dimensional local variation of structural stiffness; viz, variation in the transverse direction as well as longitudinal stiffness distribution. This paper proposes how to deal with the two-dimensional rod theory for structures with setback. Validity of the proposed theory is confirmed by comparison with numerical results of computational tools in the cases of static, free vibration and forced vibration problems for various structures. The transverse-wise nonlinear distribution of the longitudinal stress due to the existence of setback is clarified to originate from the long distance from setback.
