This study's purpose is to forecast the market demand of UVS (u-Transportation Vehicle Sensor) OBU (On-board Unit) of the ubiquitous Transportation. Bass model, Logistic model, and Gompertz model were used for the forecasting market demand. Firstly, this research focused on the market size for the u-T OBU. All three models were used for the market size prediction and the average values were used. The Bass model were calibrated and the market demand for the UVS OBU of the u-Transportation system were estimated using this model.

The objective of this paper is to identify the problems of Korean inland transportation system and suggest the improvement plan for reducing the export logistics cost. The results are as follows: (1) Expansion of logistics hub facilities : Logistics hub facilities- integrated freight terminal and ICD, etc. can shorten the empty leg and reduce the logistics cost. (2) Design for CVO(Commercial Vehicle Operations) : CVO has various functions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of freight transportation. (3) Rationalization of freight transportation industry : In particular, the deregulation of the motor freight industry and the privatization of the railway industry induce the competition among their firms and undercut the transportation rates in the long run. (4) Use of third-party logistics : The benefits of TPL are system reliability, improved customer service, and more efficient cost performance.

The need for storage and transportation facilities of liquefied natural gas have increased significantly because of global environmental regulations and recent shale gas innovation in North America. There is severe competition between Korea, Japan, and China for receiving manufacturing orders of LNG carriers or LNG storage tanks. Rationalization of the welding process used in the manufacturing of LNG facilities plays an important role in the above competition. This review paper presents the current global status and tendency for the development of latest welding technologies for LNG storage and transportation facilities. This article intends to present materials for raising the domestic competitive power for receiving manufacturing orders of LNG facilities.

This article analyzed the building regulations, the guidelines for the people with disabilities, and the interior environment of the transportation facilities of Stockholm and Oslo, which wee capital cities of leading countries in this field. Result showed that Swedish 'BBR 94' was made and based on accessibility, safety, and efficiency. But the mandatory items and detailed recommendations were minimal. 'The Swedish Handicap Institute' provided more detailed requirements. As a result of case studies of 4 facilities, it appeared that these facilities used sufficient dimension, variable color, different material, or adaptable lightings in order to provide easy accessibility, adaptability, safety, support, and mobility for the people with disabilities instead of keeping the building regulations and guidelines reluctantly.

The objectives of this study are first, to evaluate the actual performance of the Transportation Impact Assesment System of Korea, second, to find the institutional problems of the system, and third, to seek for the best improvement of the system. Total 70 assessment reports performed in 1988 and judgements of the municipal councils of the reports were inspected. And the legal system of all levels were reviewed. According to the results, there are some needs to expand the number of cities subject to the assessment system. And the several regulations about the qualification of the agents assessing transportation impacts, the composition and operation of the municipal councils, and the timing of assessing the impacts are turned out improper. A proper alternative of amendment of the regulations are recommended. And the establishment of central council for judging assessments of hudge facilities, adoption of joint assessment of facilities bellow the standard, post occupancy assess ent, and transportation fee system were also recommended.

Social and economic development needs the support of transportation and communications and in turn the development level of society and economy affects urban traffic demand and determines the investment scale of transportation facilities. In the paper based on the analysis of the evolution of urban transportation in Shanghai in the past ten years and the economic background of that period, the urban transportation in the future development of economy is generally prospected.

The costs of owning car are accepted as a subscription fee for participating in car-oriented society and only direct out-of-pocket costs of driving are mostly considered, so that the efficient location with better accessibility to service facilities is often under-appreciated. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of accessibility to public transport and other service facilities on travel demand and transportation cost of household. The residential areas in Hamburg are categorized into 8 types according to level of public transport and other service facilities. The costs of owning and operating car in each residential area are calculated on the base of the household automobile ownership and usage analysed through the actual survey The result of this analysis shows that the transportation cost of household is decreased In proportion to the level of Public transport and other service facilities. This analysis finds the structure of residential area, which economize energy consume and makes household actual transportation cost saying Possible. The result of the analysis can be used as a tool for influencing home locaion choice towards Public transportaion corridors.
