Designing Refuse Collection Networks under Capacity and Maximum Allowable Distance Constraints

  • Refuse collection network design, one of major decision problems in reverse logistics, is the problem of locating collection points and allocating refuses at demand points to the opened collection points. As an extension of the previous models, we consider capacity and maximum allowable distance constraints at each collection point. In particular, the maximum allowable distance constraint is additionally considered to avoid the impractical solutions in which collection points are located too closely. Also, the additional distance constraint represents the physical distance limit between collection and demand points. The objective is to minimize the sum of fixed costs to open collection points and variable costs to transport refuses from demand to collection points. After formulating the problem as an integer programming model, we suggest an optimal branch and bound algorithm that generates all feasible solutions by a simultaneous location and allocation method and curtails the dominated ones using the lower bounds developed using the relaxation technique. Also, due to the limited applications of the optimal algorithm, we suggest two heuristics. To test the performances of the algorithms, computational experiments were done on a number of test instances, and the results are reported.

  • 지적 분야의 세계측지계 도입은 "측량 수로조사 및 지적에 관한 법률"의 제정을 계기로 본격 시행될 예정이다. 그러나 우리나라의 지적측량기준점은 여러 가지 이유로 인해 그 성과가 균질하지 못하며 국가기준점과도 일치되지 않는 문제를 내포하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 약 20,000여점에 달하는 지적기준점의 일제조사를 통해 국가기준점인 GPS기준점과 연동될 수 있는 약 1,600점의 기준점을 선별하고 이렇게 선별된 기준점에 대한 정확한 세계측지계 성과산출을 통해 지적측량을 위한 단일 관측망을 구축함으로써 향후 추진하게 될 전국 규모의 지적재조사 시행기반의 효과적 조성에 기여하는데 연구의 주안점을 두었다.

  • 세 대 이상의 빠르게 이동하는 차량들은 때론 서로 모이기 위해 모일 장소를 알아야 될 필요가 있다. 이때 각 차량들은 다른 속도를 가지고 있으며, 여러 대의 차량이 짧은 거리를 이동해 빠르게 모이게 하기 위한 방법이 필요하다. 이러한 방법은 그룹기반의 최근접 질의로서 기존의 연구가 진행되어 왔으나, 기존 연구는 이동하지 않는 객체들을 다루고 있어 움직이는 차량에 적용하기엔 어려운 점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이동하는 차량들에게 효율적인 차량간 최근접 질의 처리 기법을 제안한다. 본 기법은 각 차량의 움직이는 방향과 속도를 기반으로 모든 차량이 최소 시간에 모일 수 있는 최근접 질의점을 찾을 수 있다. 본 기법은 효율적으로 질의점의 그룹을 표현하는 센트로이드를 통해 그룹기반의 최근접을 계산한다. 실험 결과는 제안하는 기법이 움직이는 차량의 최근접 질의 처리에 효율적임을 보여준다.

러시아 모스크바 공항철도의 도입과 시사점 (Introduction & Suggestion about Airport Rail System of Moscow, Russia)

  • Moscow is one of well-developed city about intermodal transport system by subway line. But some airports which located in suburb area have really bad transport system connecting downtown Moscow, and many people have experienced a lot of inconveniences. Russian Railways (RZD) established airport rail company in year 2005 and they have operated Aero-Express train from downtown of Moscow to major airports. Intermodal transport system was considered to the construction of Russian airport rail system, and various types of tickets and airport rail terminals are operated by RZD, and subsidiary businesses with airline companies are promoted. This study will analyze the success factors of Moscow airport rail system and introduce the success effects, and considering points for the operation of Incheon airport rail terminal in the future.

  • Even the terms is strange, "new transport system" was introduced into our country with the beginning of Yong-In LRT in 2005. domestic new transport system market amounts to the 13 trillion Won and 78 projects are intended to or already started construction. In the beginning of introduction, overseas rolling stock companies such as simens, bombardier controlled over the rolling stock market, but after Rotem, WooJin rushed into the market, desperate competing system was equipped between internal and external companies. but each system has advantage and disadvantage, so each project should be analyzed technologically and economically in terms of operators and also users. this research can be helpful to introduce optimal system through the each items' analysis.

치아 질환의 침 치료 혈위 선택에 대한 고전문헌과 현대 임상연구 비교 (A Comparison Study of Acupuncture Points Selection between Classics of Traditional Medicine and Clinical Trials in Dental Disorders)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study is to summarize and compare acupuncture points used for dental disorder in the classics with those used in recent clinical trials. Methods : We searched the data for acupuncture points used and rationale of acupuncture in dentistry. Following two sources were searched: 1) seven Classics of traditional medicine and 2) clinical trials through Pubmed from January 2000 to March 2013 with no language restriction. Results : Dental pain was the most common disorder in the dentistry section of the Classics of traditional medicine. We found many similarities of acupuncture points used between literatures and clinical trials. From the meridian perspective, large intestine meridian(LI), stomach meridian(ST), triple energizer meridian(TE), and gallbladder meridian(GB) were frequently used in the Classics of traditional medicine and the clinical trials. From the acupuncture point perspective, acupuncture points were selected according to syndrome. The specific points such as five transport points, source points, and connecting points were also used. In the clinical trials, combination of acupuncture points usually consisted adjacent points and distant points. Among them, LI4 was used in all of the studies included in this review. Conclusions : For well-designed clinical trial, appropriate intervention is essential. To establish appropriate acupuncture treatment, we have to suggest reasoning for treatment based on literature and/or expert consensus. Our review only focused on pain relief in dentistry and had many limitations. Further studies based on the literatures such as the Classics of traditional medicine are required to ensure the rationale of acupuncture treatments in various dental disorders.

인터모달 추진 정책과 효과에 관한 비교연구 (Comparative Study of the Effects of the Intermodal Freight Transport Policies)

  • Purpose - The Korean government has devised intermodal transportation policies and granted subsidies to shippers and logistics companies that made a conversion of transportation means through the policies. This provides support by expanding the complex uniform railroad transportation and overhauling the deteriorated railroad facilities. As for 2013, however, the freight transportation percentage of railroad was 4.5% in tons and 8.5% in ton kilometers. Meanwhile, since the 1990s, developed countries such as the U.S. and Europe have been trying to expand intermodal freight transport with a legal and institutional support to build a logistics system corresponding with social and economic environmental changes. In this study, I set out to examine the effects of the intermodal freight transport policies in the EU and the U.S., and to explore the direction of setting up a rail intermodal transport system in South Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - The paper used a qualitative research methodology through the literature review. First, was an overview of Intermodal transportation in the EU, U.S. and UN. Second, it describes the development of transport in Europe and the U.S. with particular emphasis on intermodal freight transport. Third, it explores the direction of setting up a intermodal freight transport in South Korea. The last section contains concluding remarks. Results - As for the EU, it has been promoting integration between transport and intermodal logistics network designs while utilizing ITS or ICT and supports for rail freight intermodal by giving reduction to a facilities fee or subsidizing for rail freight in order to minimize the cost of external due to freight transport. On the other hand, as for the U.S., it has been made up of an industrial-led operating project and has been promoting it to improve accessibility between intermodal hubs and cargo terminals through intermodal corridor program, and an intermodal cargo hub access corridor projects, etc. Moreover, it has tried to construct intermodal transport system using ITS or ICT and to remove Barrier. As a result, in these countries, the proportion of intermodal freight transport is going to be the second significant transport compared with rail and maritime transport. An Effective rail intermodal transport system is needed in South Korea, as seen in the case of these countries. In order to achieve this object, the following points are required to establish radical infrastructure policy; diversify investment financing measures taken under public-private partnerships, legal responsibilities, improvement of utilization of existing facilities to connect the railway terminal and truck terminal, and enhancement service competitiveness through providing cargo tracking and security information that combines the ITS and ICT. Conclusions - This study will be used as a basis for policy and support for intermodal freight transport in South Korea. In the future, it is also necessary to examine from the perspective of the shipper companies using the rail intermodal transport, ie, recognition of shipper, needed institutional supports, and transportation demand forecasting and cost-effective analysis of the railway infrastructure systems improvement.

특징점의 모션벡터를 이용한 차량 검지 시스템 개발 (Development of Vehicle Detection System by Using Motion Vector of Corner Point)

  • 최근 교통문제 해결을 위한 하나의 방안으로 첨단교통체계(ITS)에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 또한 도로 상에서 차량을 검출하기 위한 다양한 방법들이 제시되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 영상처리 기술을 이용하여 이동하는 차량을 검출하는 차량검지 시스템을 개발하여 도로 이용자에게 신속한 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 또한 차량을 검출하기 위해 효율적이고 하드웨어로 구현이 쉬운 알고리즘을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. CCD 카메라를 이용하여 도로 영상을 촬영하고, 모폴로지 기법을 적용하여 영상으로부터 특징점을 추출하고, 추출된 특징점 간의 이동벡터를 구하여 움직이는 차량영역을 검출한다. 제안된 알고리즘을 실제 도로 영상에서 실험한 결과 처리시간이 단축되었으며, 차량 검출에서 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Flow Path Design for Automated Transport Systems in Container Terminals Considering Traffic Congestion

  • A design method of the network for automated transporters mounted on rails is addressed for automated container terminals. In the network design, the flow directions of some path segments as well as routes of transporters for each flow requirement must be determined, while the total transportation and waiting times are minimized. This study considers, for the design of the network, the waiting times of the transporters during the travel on path segments, intersections, transfer points below the quay crane (QC), and transfer points at the storage yard. An algorithm, which is the combination of a modified Dijkstra's algorithm for finding the shortest time path and a queuing theory for calculating the waiting times during the travel, is proposed. The proposed algorithm can solve the problem in a short time, which can be used in practice. Numerical experiments showed that the proposed algorithm gives solutions better than several simple rules. It was also shown that the proposed algorithm provides satisfactory solutions in a reasonable time with only average 7.22% gap in its travel time from those by a genetic algorithm which needs too long computational time. The performance of the algorithm is tested and analyzed for various parameters.

기종점 수요추정을 위한 교통량 관측지점의 적정위치 선정 (Selection of the Optimal Location of Traffic Counting Points for the OD Travel Demand Estimation)

  • 관측교통량을 이용하여 추정된 OD의 오차는 관측링크집합에 크게 의존하기 때문에 얼마나 많은 수의 관측장비를 어느 지점에 위치시켜야 신뢰성을 확보할 수 있는가를 파악하는 것이 중요하다. 즉 교통량 관측지점의 위치와 개수에 따라 OD추정이 변하기 때문에 관측지점의 적정한 위치와 지점수를 산정하는 연구가 필요하다고 판단되어 본 연구는 기종점 교통수요(OD)를 추정하기 위해 교통수요추정의 정확도에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 교통량 관측지점의 적정위치와 지점수를 선정하였다. 대안별 교통량 관측위치가 선정된 결과를 통계적인 평가지표를 이용하여 사전OD와 추정OD간의 오차를 평가하였다. 오차평가결과, 관측교통량을 이용하여 사전OD를 갱신할 때 관측교통량에 대한 관측지점의 위치 및 개수가 적정하게 반영되어 추정된 OD가 사전OD의 통행패턴을 어느 정도 잘 반영하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 관측교통량을 이용하여 기종점간 교통수요(OD)를 추정할 때 사전OD의 통행패턴 및 특성을 잘 반영하기 위해서는 교통량 관측위치의 적정지점 및 개수선정이 중요한 요인이라고 판단된다.
