In this paper, a two-dimensional electron beam dose calculational algorithm implented for use in a two-dimensional radiation therapy planning system is described. The 2-D electron beam calculations have been in use clinically for a few decades. Our algorithm uses Age-diffusion model based int the Boltzman Transport Equation. Our implementation provides convenient user interface associated with electron beam therapy planning and displays radiation dose distribution according to different electron energy on patient images.
The permeability is the most direct indicator to reflect the durability of concrete, and the testing methods based on external electric field can be used to evaluate concrete permeability rapidly. This study aims to use an experiment method to accurately predict the permeability of concrete box beam during service. The ion migration experiments and concrete surface resistivity are measured to evaluate permeability of five concrete box beams, and the relations between these results in service concrete and electric flux after 6 hours by ASTM C1202 in the laboratory are analyzed. The chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete, concrete surface resistivity and concrete 6 hours charge have good correlation relationship, which denote that the chloride diffusion coefficient and the surface resistivity of concrete are effective for evaluating the durability of concrete structures. The chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete is directly evaluated permeability of concrete box beam in service and may be used to predict the service life, which is fit to engineering applications and the concrete box beam is non-destructive. The concrete surface resistivity is easier available than the chloride diffusion coefficient, but it is directly not used to calculate the service life. Therefore the mathematical relation of the concrete surface resistivity and the concrete chloride diffusion coefficient need to be found, which the service life of reinforced concrete is obtained by the concrete surface resistivity.
By applying the P$_1$ and P$_2$ equations to the operator form of a synthetic acceleration, we derive the p,-acceleration (diffusion synthetic acceleration: DSA) and P$_2$-acceleration (p$_2$SA) schemes in one dimensional slab geometry. We Fourier-analyze the derived acceleration schemes with the discrete-ordinates transport equation and showed that the DSA outperforms the P$_2$SA. These results confirm that one cannot simply assume that replacement of the DSA with a higher order approximation will lead to a better acceleration performance.

In $TiO_2$-CuO systems, low-temperature sinterability was investigated by a conventional sintering method. Sintering temperatures were set at under $950^{\circ}C$, at which the volume diffusion is inactive. The temperatures are less than the melting point of Ag ($961^{\circ}C$), which is often used as an internal conductor in low-temperature co-fired ceramic technology. To optimize the amount of CuO dopant, various dopant contents were added. The optimum level for enhanced densification was 2 wt% CuO. Excess dopants were segregated to the grain boundaries. The segregated dopants supplied a high diffusion path, by which grain boundary diffusion improved. At lower temperatures in the solid state region, grain boundary diffusion was the principal mass transport mechanism for densification. The enhanced grain boundary diffusion, therefore, improved densification. In this regard, the results of this study prove that the sintering mechanism was the same as that of activated sintering.
Diffusion coefficient is a critical parameter for predicting radiological source term(migration rate and flux of radionuclide) through given near field conditions in spent fuel or high level waste repository. The effect of exchangeable cation-$Na^+$ and $Ca^{2+} - on the diffusion of $I^- \;and^3H$ (as HTO) in compacted bentonite was examined using a through-diffusion method. Bentonite material used here was compacted to a density of 1.3 Mg/m$^3$, and Na-bentonite was saturated with a solution of 100 mol NaCl/m$^3$ and Ca-bentonite with 50 $mol\;CaCl_2$/m$^3$. The results show that effective diffusion coefficients are generally higher by a factor of two to five in Ca-than Na-clay. This is attributed to the larger particle size of Ca-compared to Na-bentonite; hence, Ca-bentonite has a greater proportion of relatively large pores, which make a greater contribution to mass transport than small pores. Although the nature of the exchangeable cation affects mass diffusion in compacted bentonite, the effect is small and not likely to influence performance assessment modeling of compacted bentonite-based barriers.
Many researchers have discussed how membrane performance can be enhanced through an understanding of polymer science and engineering. The understandings of transport in porous membrane are used to achieve the isolation of certain components from mixtures. Particular emphasis is placed on the applicability of membrane separations for the isolation of macromolecules[1]. An awareness of membrane structure characteristics is required for the rational design of membranes for specific and/or new applications. This understanding rests on the knowledge of fields such as polymer thermodynamics[2], polymer adsorption [3, 4], diffusion in polymers[5, 6], reaction mechanism[7], and the dynamic behavior[8, 9] of polymer in porous membrane.
The electron transport coefficients in not only pure atoms and molecules but also in the binary gas mixtures are necessary, especially on understanding quantitatively plasma phenomena and ionized gases. Electron transport coefficients (electron drift velocity, density-normalized longitudinal diffusion coefficient, and density-normalized effective ionization coefficient) in binary mixtures of TEOS gas with buffer gases such as Kr, Xe, He, and Ne gases, therefore, was analyzed and calculated by a two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation in the E/N range (ratio of the electric field E to the neutral number density N) of 0.1 - 1000 Td (1 Td = 10−17 V.cm2). These binary gas mixtures can be considered to use as the silicon sources in many industrial applications depending on mixture ratio and particular application of gas, especially on plasma assisted thin-film deposition.

This technical paper contains the information of the Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) working principal where diffusion mechanism acts as electron transport to absorb the sunlight energy to generate the electrical energy. DSSC is photo electrochemical cell that implements the application of photosynthesis process. The performance of electron transport in DSSC has been reviewed in order to enhance the performance and efficiency of electron transport. The improvement of the electron transport also discussed in this paper.
This paper presents results for the calculation of transport properties of noble gases (He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe) at 273.15 K and 1.00 atm using equilibrium molecular dynamics (EMD) simulations through a Lennard-Jones (LJ) intermolecular potential. We have utilized the revised Green-Kubo formulas for the stress (SAC) and the heat-flux auto-correlation (HFAC) functions to estimate the viscosities (${\eta}$) and thermal conductivities (${\lambda}$) of noble gases. The original Green-Kubo formula was employed for diffusion coefficients (D). The results for transport properties (D, ${\eta}$, and ${\lambda}$) of noble gases at 273.15 and 1.00 atm obtained from our EMD simulations are in a good agreement with the rigorous results of the kinetic theory and the experimental data. The radial distribution functions, mean square displacements, and velocity auto-correlation functions of noble gases are remarkably different from those of liquid argon at 94.4 K and 1.374 $g/cm^3$.
