  • The lightning shielding of different 500 kV HVAC-TL high voltage AC transmission lines was analyzed. The studied transmission lines were horizontal flat single circuit and double circuit transmission lines. The lightning attractive areas were drawn around power conductors and shielding wires. To draw the attractive areas of the high voltage transmission lines, transmission line power conductors, shielding wires and lightning leader were modeled. Different parameters were considered such as lightningslope, ground slope and wind on lightning attractive areas. From the calculated results, the power conductors voltages affected on attractive areas around power conductors and shielding wires. For negative lightning leader, the attractive area around the transmission line power conductor increased around power conductors stressed by positives voltage and decreased around power conductors stressed by negative voltage. In spite of this, the attractivearea of the transmission line shielding wire increasedaround the shielding wire above the power conductor stressed by the positive voltage and decreased around the shielding wire above the power conductor stressed by negative voltage. The attractive areas around power conductors and shielding wires were affected by the surrounding conditions, such as lightning leader slope, ground slope. The AC voltage of the transmission lines made the shielding areas changing with time.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the efficiency of magnetic resonance wireless power transmission (WPT) using superconductor coil according to the changing position of transmission and receiving coils. We implemented a WPT system using a magnetic resonance at a frequency of 63.1 kHz. Transmission and receiving coils using superconductor coil were wound on a spiral manner of diameter 100mm. For comparison, transmission and receiving coils using normal conductor coil were designed under the same condition. At a distance of 50mm, we measured efficiency when transmission-receiving coils were matched 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. When a superconductor coil was applied to the transmission and receiving units, efficiency of WPT was very high. In addition, in the case of the superconducting transmission-receiving coils, when coils matched 100% the efficiency was 30% and matched 25% the efficiency was 8%.

  • Objectives: Despite the importance of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) transmission through heterosexual contact, the features of heterosexual transmission has not been well studied in Korea. So we conducted a cross sectional study to determine the transmission rates in married couples and assess risk factors for male to female heterosexual transmission of HIV. Methods: 169 HIV-infected males and their female sex partners were recruited from 1985 to tune 1998. We examined female sex partner's HIV infection status and interviewed male index partners and their female sex partners about demographic characteristics and sexual practices. We analysed heterosexual transmission rate by epidemiologic characteristics, disease status and sexual practices. And we assessed risk factors for HIV infection by univariate and multivariate analysis. Results: 30 female sex partners were infected at enrollment, yielding an transmission rate of 17.8%. Among couples who had used condoms consistently, none of the female sex partners was infected with HIV. In univariate analysis the significant risk factors were full blown AIDS status (OR=4.1, 95% CI: 1.49-11.43) and low CD4 T cell count of index partners at enrollment (OR=7.8, 95% CI: 2.19-27.80). In multivariate analysis HIV-1 RNA levels was significant risk factor when adjusted by CD4 T cell courts and mean sexual contacts per month (OR=19.2, 95% CI: 1.03-357.59) Conclusion: The risk of male to female heterosexual transmission increased with advanced stages of HIV infection in the index male partners.

  • This study is the positive one about the influence which the characteristics of medical consumers' perceived words-transmission information exercises on its acceptance level and its activities. The aim of this study was to investigate how the characteristics-reliability of perceived information, its directionity, and its availability-had an influence on the acceptance level and activities of words-transmission information. For the purpose of that aim, the positive research by questionnaire was applied. In addition, to collect necessary data, investigation was performed about 20 days from July 1st, 1938 to July 20th, 1938. As for the respondents' sampling in sample planning, the method of Simple Random Sampling was used laying stress on patients or their responsible person aged over 20s in second and third medical institutions. And the collected sample were 230 people. Of these, However, the number of sample used actually for this study analysis was 211 except 19 people who responded unfaithfully. The analysis of the data collected by the abovesaid investigation used SPSS/PC statistical package. The study result to have proved the hypothesis by experiment is as follows. First, as the result of having analysed the influence relations on the acceptance level and activities of words-transmission information among the factors of reliability about medical consumers' perceived information, I found that 'specialty' had an affirmative effect and there was a significant effect relations. Second, as the result of having made a multi-regression analysis of the effect relations on the acceptance level and activities of words-transmission information of the factors of directionity on medical consumers' perceived information, 'reliablity' was found as having a significant effect on the acceptance of words-transmission information. Third, 'importantness' was revealed as having a significant effect on the words-transmission activities in the acceptance level and activities of words-transmission information among the factors of reliability on medical consumers' perceived information. Fourth. for medical consumers there was a statistical correlation between the acceptance level and activities of words-transmission information. Therefore, words-transmission communication will be very useful for hospital promotion programs having a limited advertising ability in business. Especially, I suggest that a person in charge of his/her hospital marketing should not only excavate a source of words-transmission communication in order to arrive effectively at sampling market, but also use a marketing mix suitable to that The test result shows that the unsatisfied patients over their hospital treatment tend to be more stronger in transmitting words to the other positive minded patients than the satisfied ones. Therefore, all relating representatives in hospital should concentrate their energies on decreasing or eliminating these unwanted results.

  • Transmission electron microscope (TEM) is an excellent tool for studying the structure and properties of nanostructured materials. As the development of $C_s$-corrected TEM, the direct analysis of atomic structures of nanostructured materials can be performed in the high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Especially, fast Fourier transform (FFT) technique in image processing is very useful way to determine the crystal structure of HRTEM images in reciprocal space. To apply FFT technique in HRTEM analysis in more reasonable and friendly manner, we made a new circular region of interest (C-ROI) FFT script and tested it for several HRTEM analysis. Consequentially, it was proved that the new FFT application shows more quantitative and clearer results than conventional FFT script by removing the streaky artifacts in FFT pattern images. Finally, it is expected that the new FFT script gives great advantages for quantitative interpretation of HRTEM images of many nanostructured materials.

  • Face gear transmission is widely used in aerospace shunt-confluence transmission system. Tooth wear is one of the main factors affecting its bearing transmission performance. Furthermore, the installation errors of face gear are inevitable. In order to study the wear mechanism of face gear tooth surface with installation errors, based on tooth contact analysis numerical method and Archard wear theory, the UMESHMOTION subroutine in ABAQUS is developed.Combining with Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian adaptive mesh technology, the finite element mesh wear model of abraded face gear pair is established. The preprocessing conditions are set to generate the inp files. Then, the inp files for each corner are imported and batch processed in ABAQUS.The loading tooth contact problem at each rotation angle is solved and the load distribution coefficient among gear tooth, tooth root bending stress, tooth surface contact stress and loaded transmission error are obtained. Results show that the tooth root wear is the most serious and the wear at the pitch cone is close to 0.The wear law of tooth surface along tooth width direction is convex parabola and the wear law along tooth height direction is concave parabola.

  • This study performed a response analysis according to the transmission error of the yaw drive. To perform the response analysis, the excitation source of the transmission error was modeled and the outer ring of the first stage bearing and the outer ring of the output shaft bearing were used as measurement positions. The response results were analyzed based on the vibration tolerance values of AGMA 6000-B96. As a result of the response of the first stage bearing outer ring, the maximum displacement of the first stage planetary gear system was 5.59 and the maximum displacement of the second to fourth stage planetary gear systems was 4.21 ㎛ , 3.13 ㎛ , and 25.6 ㎛ . In the case of the output shaft bearing outer ring, the maximum displacement of the first stage planetary gear system was 1.73 ㎛, and the maximum displacement of the second to fourth stage planetary gear system was 1.94 ㎛, 0.73 ㎛, and 2.03 ㎛. According to AGMA 6000-B96, the vibration tolerance of first stage is 17.5 ㎛, and the vibration tolerance of the second to fourth stages is 58 ㎛, 80 ㎛, and 375 ㎛, which shows that the vibration tolerance is satisfied and it is safe.

  • This paper presents an analysis of resource assignment for multihop communications in millimeter-wave (mm-wave) wireless personal area networks. The purpose of this paper is to figure out the effect of using directional antennas and relaying devices (DEVs) in communications. The analysis is performed based on a grouping algorithm, categorization of the flows, and the relaying DEV selection policy. Three schemes are compared: direct and relaying concurrent transmission (DRCT), direct concurrent transmission (DCT), and direct nonconcurrent transmission (DNCT). Numerical results show that DRCT is better than DCT and DCT is better than DNCT for any antenna beamwidths under the proposed algorithm and policy. The results also show that using relaying DEVs increases the throughput up to 30% and that there is an optimal beamwidth that maximizes spatial reuse and depends on parameters such as the number of flows in the networks. This analysis can provide guidelines for improving the performance of mm-wave band communications with relaying DEVs.

  • A novel topology for the magnet gear is proposed in this study. Differently from the existing methods, both sides of magnet array in this topology are used, resulting in increasing the efficiency of the mechanism. The closed magnetic path between the magnetic elements decreases the leakage flux, so the interlinking magnetic flux through the air-gap is focused and intensified. This paper discusses the dominant parameters of the proposed magnet gear influencing the resulting transmission torque. The parameters are designed from the sensitivity analysis using the commercial FEM analysis tool. And, the test setup for verifying the performance of the system is described.
