쇄빙상선의 북극해 항로 항행 모델링 (The Northern Sea Route Transit Modeling of Icebreaking Cargo Vessels)

  • Main purpose of the study is to develop a transit model for icebreaking cargo vessels in the Northern Sea Route and to select optimum sea routes with the shortest navigation time and the lowest operation cost. This numerical model executed with basic information such as ship capabilities, transit directions and months of transit, can calculate total transit distance and elapsed time, mean speed, operation cost for each vessel. In the transit model. environment information such as the site-specific ice conditions, wave and wind states are utilized for four different months (April, June, August, and October) along the Northern Sea Route. The model also defines a necessary period of an icebreaker escort. Then the optimum sea routes are selected and visually displayed on the digital map using a commercial software ArcGIS. Usefulness of the selected sea routes is discussed.

  • 본 연구는 최근 도시개발에 있어 관심사로 대두되고 있는 대중교통지향형 개발(TOD)에 대한 바람직한 개발방향을 모색하고, 서울시 역세권을 환승특성 유형별로 구분하여 실증분석을 통해 이에 대한 분석결과를 제시하는데 목적을 두고 수행하였다. 대중교통 이용자 특성에 미치는 영향력은 환승특성 유형별로 차이가 있는 것으로 규명 되었다. 향후 수도권의 대중교통전략 수집 시 차별화된 영향요소를 기반으로 개선(안)을 도출하는 것이 필요하며, 향후 지속적인 대중교통 이용수요 증진을 위한 기초를 마련해야 한다고 판단된다. 또한 지하철역과 직접적인 연계를 하기 보다는 보조적인 수단으로 버스전용차로(BRT)를 적절하게 연계하여 현재 단일역세권을 거점화하는 것이 필요하다고 판단된다.

Colon Transit Time Test in Korean Children with Chronic Functional Constipation

  • Purpose: Each ethnic group has a unique life style, including diets. Life style affects bowel movement. The aim of this study is to describe the results of colon transit time (CTT) tests in Korean children who had chronic functional constipation based on highly refined data. Methods: One hundred ninety (86 males) out of 415 children who performed a CTT test under the diagnosis of chronic constipation according to Rome III criteria at Konkuk University Medical Center from January 2006 through March 2015 were enrolled in this study. Two hundreds twenty-five children were excluded on the basis of CTT test result, defecation diary, and clinical setting. Shapiro-Wilk and Mann-Whitney U, and chi-square tests were used for statistical analysis. Results: The median value and interquartile range (IQR) of CTT was 54 (37.5) hours in Encopresis group, and those in non-encopresis group was 40.2 (27.9) hours (p<0.001). The frequency of subtype between non-encopresis group and encopresis was statistically significant (p=0.002). The non-encopresis group (n=154, 81.1%) was divided into normal transit subgroup (n=84, 54.5%; median value and IQR of CTT=26.4 [9.6] hours), outlet obstruction subgroup (n=18, 11.7%; 62.4 [15.6] hours), and slow transit subgroup (n=52, 33.8%; 54.6 [21.0] hours]. The encopresis group (n=36, 18.9%) was divided into normal transit subgroup (n=8, 22.2%; median value and IQR of CTT=32.4 [9.9] hours), outlet obstruction subgroup (n=8, 22.2%; 67.8 [34.8] hours), and slow transit subgroup (n=20, 55.6%; 59.4 [62.7] hours). Conclusion: This study provided the basic pattern and value of the CTT test in Korean children with chronic constipation.

  • The concrete track system on domestic urban transit has being constructed since 1974. Because a maintenance and repair of concrete track system is convenient, a construction is increased. The concrete track system on domestic urban transit is constructed 71.8% of total track system length and constructed variously, for example STEDEF, LVT, ALT and so on. Recently, railway noise is issued as environment problem. The method for mitigation of urban transit noise is required. In this study to study noise characteristics on concrete tracks we measured noise by concrete track types and analysis the result.

Predictors of Small Bowel Transit Time for Capsule Endoscopy in Children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease

  • Purpose: The development of assistive devices has allowed for the performance of capsule endoscopy in children. Anticipating the capsule's transit time could affect the efficacy of the investigation and potentially minimize the fasting period. This study determined the predictors of small bowel transit time for small-bowel capsule endoscopy in children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease. Methods: We retrospectively examined children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease who underwent capsule endoscopy by the age 18 at a Japanese tertiary care children's hospital. Small bowel transit time predictors were analyzed using multiple regression with explanatory variables. Results: Overall, 92 patients, aged 1-17 years, with inflammatory bowel disease (63 Crohn's disease and 29 ulcerative colitis cases) were examined for factors affecting small bowel transit time. In the simple regression analysis, diagnosis, age, height, weight, serum albumin, general anesthesia, and small intestine lesions were significantly associated with small bowel transit time. In the multiple regression analyses, serum albumin (partial regression coefficient: -58.9, p=0.008), general anesthesia (partial regression coefficient: 127, p<0.001), and small intestine lesions (partial regression coefficient: 30.1, p=0.037) showed significant associations with small bowel transit time. Conclusion: Hypoalbuminemia, the use of general anesthesia for endoscopic delivery of the capsule, and small intestine lesions appeared to be predictors of prolonged small bowel transit time in children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease. Expecting the finishing time may improve examination with a fasting period reduction, which benefits both patients and caregivers.

  • A new subway, line 9 linking Western and Eastern Seoul began its services for citizens between Gimpo airport and Gangnam area within 30 minutes by express transit service. Seoul Metro Line 9 Corporation plans to operate both local transit service which will stop at every station, and express transit service that will stop at several key stations including junctions. The passengers on line 9 will be able to transfer to lines 2, 3, 5, 8, Bundang and Incheon International Airport. The Line 9 is expected to disperse the demand for line 2, having the most number of subway users, and will provide passengers with less crowded travel. The new line will also help residents in southern Seoul outskirts and Gyeonggi provincial cities including Bundang vicinity, and Gangdong area commuters get better access to Gimpo and incheon Airports. The Corporation expects to transfer 560,000 passengers daily by the subway line 9. Seoul Development Institute conducted network reshuffle study for Seoul Metro system to sort out congestion problem due to its irrational line alignments and inconvenient transfer. Among several candidate plans of network reshuffling, the direct connection of line 9 with line 5 was chosen as a pilot study. The study found that direct connection of the 2 lines is essential for enhancing transit utility and reducing automobile commuters.

RAM을 고려한 도시철도시스템의 수명주기비용 분석 (Analysis of Life-Cycle Cost for Urban Transit System using RAM)

  • This paper is concerned with the life-cycle cost(LCC) of the urban transit system which was developed by KRRI and is now under test in Gyeongsan, Korea. Its reliability, availability and maintainability(RAM) were analyzed. LCC is the core part of analyzing the total cost of acquisition and ownership of a system. LCC analysis of a system is the most effective when it is applied in the it's early design phase. In this paper, we present IEC 60300-3-3(Life Cycle Costing) in detail and propose how to apply LCC in assessing the urban transit system according to RAM process. This case study demonstrates that reliability management system is very effective in reducing the operating cost of subway corporations in Korea.

  • It is expected that standardized framework for urban rail transit system will contribute to more convenient and safe traffic service and ensure higher reliability and availability of urban rail transit rolling stock and infrastructure. Information and telecommunication system in urban rail transit consists of various subsystems, such as radio communication system, digital transmission system, integrated monitoring system and public addressing system and its standardization will be implemented based on these subsystem. Public addressing system is to provide information related to operation and emergency for passengers and operators. In this paper we suggest draft criterion of public addressing system for urban rail transit through functional analysis and comparison on the present state of the system.

  • These days, in Korea, according to improving the standard living, people generally work 5 days a week and it results more leisure hours. On weekends or in specific season, travel to mountain region around the major city is much in demand, and, in case of public transportation, the demand exceeds the supply. So, people tend to go other places, even overseas, for their holidays. The situation in Korea reflects the needs for mountainous light rail transit system with the object of convenient and rapid transport of passengers. In this paper, the guideline for mountainous light rail transit planing is proposed, and the representative mountainous light rail transit system is analyzed to choose the proper mountainous light rail transit system which adapts the demand for transportation and the terrain in Korea.

  • Many services have been served by the exiting subway systems since they have opened in 1975. But its efficiency and competition were going down because of the high construction cost and difficult connection with other transportations, etc. Otherwise, the light rail transit system is much lower construction cost than the subway and the high way building. Also those systems are good at the inexpensive operation cost, the fixed time and safety, the easy access. Recently, the several provinces are planning or advancing the light rail transit system because of these many benefits. Consequently, those system's economical feasibility analysis is required rapidly to show the resonable construction's cause and to get the private investment. This paper offers the system's economical feasibility through the several benefit analysis after the light rail transit system's construction.
