홍국발효 시호(柴胡)가 Lipopolysaccharide로 유발된 급성 폐 손상에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Red Koji-Fermented Bupleuri Radix Extracts on Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Rat Acute Lung Injury)

  • Objective : This study aimed to assess the preventive effect of Bupleuri Radix aqueous extracts (BR) and red koji-fermented BR (fBR) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury in a rat model. Methods : Rats were administered 30, 60, or 120 mg/kg/day of fBR for 28 days before LPS treatments. All rats were sacrificed 5 h after LPS treatment (500 ㎍/head, intratracheal instillation). Body weights, lung weights, pulmonary transcapillary albumin transit, arterial gas parameters (pH, partial pressure [Pa] of O2, PaCO2), bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) protein, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), total cell numbers, neutrophil/alveolar macrophage ratios, lung malondialdehyde (MDA), and myeloperoxidase (MPO) were measured. In addition, histopathological changes including the luminal surface of alveoli (LSA), thickness of alveolar septum, and number of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMNs) were checked. Results : LPS injection led to increases in lung weights, pulmonary transcapillary albumin transit, BALF protein, LDH, TNF-α and IL-1β contents, total cells, neutrophil and alveolar macrophage ratios, lung MDA, MPO, alveolar septum thickness, and PMNs, and decreases in PaCO2 and pH of arterial blood and LSA. However, these LPS-induced acute lung injuries were inhibited by pretreatment of 30, 60, and 120 mg/kg of fBR. The most favorable effects were seen with 30 mg/kg fBR as compared with 60 mg/kg of α-lipoic acid and BR. Conclusions : fBR showed preventive effects on LPS-induced acute lung injury, which resembles acute respiratory distress syndrome. The mechanisms of action were likely via antioxidant and anti-inflammatory means.

  • 본 논문은 샌드위치 복합재가 적용된 자동무인경전철 차체 구조물의 구조 안전성 및 충돌 안전성 결과에 대해 서술하고 있다. 차체 구조물에 적용된 샌드위치 복합재는 알루미늄 하니컴 심재와 WR580/NF4000 유리섬유/에폭시 적층 복합재 면재로 이루어져 있다. 차체 구조물에 적용되는 적층 복합재 면재에 대해 기계적 시험을 통하여 물성을 획득하였고, 직교 이방성 특성을 갖는 하니컴 심재의 물성은 유효등가손상모델을 적용하였다. ANSYS v11.0을 이용한 유한요소 해석은 JIS E 1105 기준과 ASCE 21-98 기준에 따라서 자동무인경전철 차체의 구조 안전성을 평가하였다. 충돌해석은 외연유한요소 해석 프로그램인 LS-DYNA3D를 이용하였다. 충돌 조건은 강체벽에 10km/h의 속도로 정면충돌 사고를 모사하였다. 또한, 수성된 Chang-Chang 파손기준시은 충돌 후 복합재 구조물의 파손 모드를 평가하는데 추천된다.

  • This paper shows the analysis of the inductive power transfer system in conjunction with series resonant converter operating variable high frequency. Of particular interest is the sensitivity of the complete system to variations in operational frequency and parameters. In inductive power transfer system, electrical power is transferred from a primary winding in the form of a coil or track, to one or more isolated pick-up coils that may relative to the primary. The ability to transmit power without contact enables high reliability and easy maintenance that allows inductive power transfer system to be implemented in hostile environments. This technology has found application in many fields such as electric vehicles, PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) etc. The coupling between the primary and secondary is then presented to include the effects of parameter and operational frequency variation.

  • 본 논문은 전세계적으로 신교통시스템으로 연구되고 있는 튜브운송시스템에 대한 개념과 화물용 튜브운송시스템의 운영개념서 및 운영요구사항의 개발에 관한 것이다. 철도시스템의 개발 초기에 시스템의 정확한 운영개념을 확립하고 이를 기반으로 시스템에 대한 사용자의 명확한 사용자 요구사항 및 운영요구사항을 도출하는 과정은 매우 중요하며, 시스템의 개발 초기 단계 측 개념설계 단계에서 반드시 수행되어야 한다. 본 논문을 통해서 문헌적인 운영개념서의 형식에 대한 조사, 특징, 그리고 현실적인 운영상황을 고려한 화물용 튜브운송시스템의 운영개념서를 제안하였다. 운영개념서를 통해서 사용목적, 운영시나리오, 비상상황 등의 정보가 식별하였으며 이를 바탕으로 시스템의 운영요구사항서를 개발하였다. 개발된 운영개념서 및 운영요구사항서는 확인된 사용자 요구사항 및 시스템 요구사항으로 구체화 되며, 시스템 아키텍처의 참고문서로서 활용될 수 있다.

  • In the theory of hypergeometric and generalized hypergeometric series, classical summation theorems have been found interesting applications in obtaining various series identities for ${\Pi}$, ${\Pi}^2$ and ${\frac{1}{\Pi}}$. The aim of this research paper is to provide twelve general formulas for ${\frac{1}{\Pi}}$. On specializing the parameters, a large number of very interesting series identities for ${\frac{1}{\Pi}}$ not previously appeared in the literature have been obtained. Also, several other results for multiples of ${\Pi}$, ${\Pi}^2$, ${\frac{1}{{\Pi}^2}}$, ${\frac{1}{{\Pi}^3}}$ and ${\frac{1}{\sqrt{\Pi}}}$ have been obtained. The results are established with the help of the extensions of classical Gauss's summation theorem available in the literature.

Comparative study on cracked beam with different types of cracks carrying moving mass

  • An analytical-computational method along with finite element analysis (FEA) has been employed to analyse the dynamic behaviour of deteriorated structures excited by time- varying mass. The present analysis is focused on the comparative study of a double cracked beam with inclined edge cracks and transverse open cracks subjected to traversing mass. The assumed computational method applied is the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. The analysis of the structure has been carried out at constant transit mass and speed. The response of the structure is determined at different crack depth and crack inclination angles. The influence of the parameters like crack depth and crack inclination angles are investigated on the dynamic behaviour of the structure. The results obtained from the assumed computational method are compared with those of the FEA for validation and found good agreements with FEA.

  • Linear metro with single sided linear induction motor is applied to the urban transit system because of non adhesion drive. But linear induction motor is required to reduce the energy consumption to maximize efficiency of LIM. In this paper, design requirements such as pole pitch, motor length, air gap, overhang length and the material of secondary sheet are investigated as major parameter of SLIM. It is effective for increasing the efficiency to adopt the copper reaction plate and decrease the mechanical air gap as small as possible.

Control of chaotic dynamics by magnetorheological damping of a pendulum vibration absorber

  • Investigations of regular and chaotic vibrations of the autoparametric pendulum absorber suspended on a nonlinear coil spring and a magnetorheological damper are presented in the paper. Application of a semi-active damper allows controlling the dangerous motion without stooping of system and additionally gives new possibilities for designers. The investigations are curried out close to the main parametric resonance. Obtained numerical and experimental results show that the semi-active suspension may reduce dangerous motion and it also allows to maintain the pendulum at a given attractor or to jump to another one. Moreover, the results show that, for some parameters, MR damping may transit to chaotic motions.
