  • Boundary layer equations (partial differential equations) can be transformed to ordinary diffential equations with constant coeffieients in terms of similarity transformed to ordinary differential equations with constant coeffieients in terms of similarity transformations in the heat tranfer analysis on the surface of any axiaymmetric boiles. The azimuth functions can not be uniquely determined because of the singular behavior at the stagnation point(X=0.deg.).In spite of the azimuth functions behaving singularly, many of researchers have analyzed the heat transfer problem on a horizontal chlinder or a sphere, supposing the set of solutions( $H_{1}$ & G$_{1}$) of being yieled from the simple differential equation to be unique solution of therazimuth functions. In order to ascertain whether mathematical incompatibility as mentioned above can be admitted in the viewpoint of enginerring or not, condensation heat transfer coefficients on a sphere are computed for all azimuth functions( $H_{1}$ G$_{1}$ & $H_{2}$ G$_{2}$) and comparisons with the experimental result are discussed.

  • The present paper develops a test of the multivariate normality based on nonlinear transformations and the likelihood function. For checking the normality, we test the shape parameter which indexes the family of transformations. A score test and a parametric bootstrap test are used to evaluate the discrepancy between the data and a multivariate normal distribution. In order to compare the performance of our test with the existing tests, a simulation study was carried out for several situations where nuisance parameters have to be estimated. The results showed that the proposed method is superior to the existing methods.

  • The randomness of the input variables in simulation experiments produce output responses which are also realizations of random variables. The random responses make necessary the use of statistical inferences to adequately describe the stochastic nature of the output. The analysis of the simulation output of non-terminating simulations is frequently complicated by the autocorrelation of the output data and the effect of the initial conditions that produces biased estimates. The regenerative method has been developed to deal with some of the problems created by the random nature of the simulation experiments. It provides a simple solution to some tactical problems and can produce valid statistical results. However, not all processes can he modeled using the regenerative method. Other processes modeled as regenerative may not return to a given demarcating state frequently enough to allow for adequate statistical analysis. This paper shows how the state transformation concept was successfully used in a queueing model and a job shop model. Although the first example can be analyzed using the regenerative method. it has the problem of too few recurrences under certain conditions. The second model has the problem of no recurrences. In both cases, the state transformation increase the frequency of the demarcating state. It was shown that time state transformations are regenerative and produce more cycles than the best typical discrete demarcating state in a given run length.

  • Four experiments explored how the size ratio of two letter patterns affects jundgment times in a same-different matching task.Size, continuity of strokes, positions of the two vowel letters were systematically varied in order to test predictions, derved from the following hypotheses:Analogue transformation, position, use of diagnostic information, and decision sriteria.Size ratio influenced only reaction times for same responses and, more importantly, changes in the length of a horizintal line in a letter affected same responses more than the other feature.Taken together, the present experiments provide support for the diagnostic information hypothesis, while casting in doubt the other hypotheses on the nature of size transformations.

  • Recently, there have been many types of wavelet transformations proposed to remove the noise from an signal and image data By using feature of seperating the noise from the original image the Wavelet transformations can retain the edges of the images The wavelet analysis is complete when the basis function is coded into the wavelet This Thesis describes a method of using wavelet transformation to remove the noise from an image signal. Although the wavelet transformation proposed by Donoho and Johnstone works, it does not reliably remove all the noise from the images. So this thesis propose an algorithm that selected Wavelet Shrinkgae and threshold according to the features of bands and amplitude of noise.

  • It is known that the ranks of the semigroups $\mathcal{SOP}_n$, $\mathcal{SPOP}_n$ and $\mathcal{SSPOP}_n$ (the semigroups of orientation preserving singular self-maps, partial and strictly partial transformations on $X_n={1,2,{\ldots},n}$, respectively) are n, 2n and n + 1, respectively. The idempotent rank, defined as the smallest number of idempotent generating set, of $\mathcal{SOP}_n$ and $\mathcal{SSPOP}_n$ are the same value as the rank, respectively. Idempotent can be seen as a special case (with m = 1) of m-potent. In this paper, we investigate the m-potent ranks, defined as the smallest number of m-potent generating set, of the semigroups $\mathcal{SOP}_n$, $\mathcal{SPOP}_n$ and $\mathcal{SSPOP}_n$. Firstly, we characterize the structure of the minimal generating sets of $\mathcal{SOP}_n$. As applications, we obtain that the number of distinct minimal generating sets is $(n-1)^nn!$. Secondly, we show that, for $1{\leq}m{\leq}n-1$, the m-potent ranks of the semigroups $\mathcal{SOP}_n$ and $\mathcal{SPOP}_n$ are also n and 2n, respectively. Finally, we find that the 2-potent rank of $\mathcal{SSPOP}_n$ is n + 1.

  • This study compared and analyzed weighted network centrality measures supported by Opsahl's tnet and Lee's WNET, which are free softwares for weighted network analysis. Three node centrality measures including weighted degree, weighted closeness, and weighted betweenness are supported by tnet, and four node centrality measures including nearest neighbor centrality, mean association, mean profile association, triangle betweenness centrality are supported by WNET. An experimental analysis carried out on artificial network data showed tnet's high sensitiveness on linear transformations of link weights, however, WNET's centrality measures were insensitive to linear transformations. Seven centrality measures from both tools, tnet and WNET, were calculated on six real network datasets. The results showed the characteristics of weighted network centrality measures of tnet and WNET, and the relationships between them were also discussed.

  • Enzyme-metal combo catalysis is described as a useful methodology for the synthesis of optically active compounds. The key point of the method is the use of enzyme and metal in combination as the catalysts for the complete transformation of racemic substrates to single enantiomeric products through dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR). In this approach, enzyme acts as an enantioselective resolving catalyst and metal does as a racemizing catalyst for the efficient DKR. Three kinds of enzyme-metal combinations - lipase-ruthenium, subtilisin-ruthenium, and lipase-palladium –have been developed as the catalysts for the DKRs of racemic alcohols, esters, and amines. The scope of the combination catalysts can be extended to the asymmetric transformations of ketones, enol acetates, and ketoximes via the DKRs. In most cases studied, enzyme-metal combo catalysis provided enantiomerically-enriched products in high yields.

  • The use of shape memory alloys (SMAs) in dynamical systems has an increasing importance in engineering especially due to their capacity to provide vibration reductions. In this regard, experimental tests are essential in order to show all potentialities of this kind of systems. In this work, SMA springs are incorporated in a dynamical system that consists of a one degree of freedom oscillator connected to a linear spring and a mass, which is also connected to the SMA spring. Two types of springs are investigated defining two distinct systems: a pseudoelastic and a shape memory system. The characterisation of the springs is evaluated by considering differential calorimetry scanning tests and also force-displacement tests at different temperatures. Free and forced vibration experiments are made in order to investigate the dynamical behaviour of the systems. For both systems, it is observed the capability of changing the equilibrium position due to phase transformations leading to hysteretic behaviour, or due to temperature changes which also induce phase transformations and therefore, change in stiffness. Both situations are investigated by promoting temperature changes and also pre-tension of the springs. This article shows several experimental tests that allow one to obtain a general comprehension of the dynamical behaviour of SMA systems. Results show the general thermo-mechanical behaviour of SMA dynamical systems and the obtained conclusions can be applied in distinct situations as in rotor-bearing systems.

  • In Electronic Commerce and Secret Communication based on ECC over finite field, if the sender and the receiver use different basis of finite fields, then the time of communication should always be delayed. In this paper, we analyze the number of bases-transformations needed for Electronic Signature in Electronic Commerce and Secret Communication based on ECC over finite field between H/W and S/W implementation systems and introduce the anomalous basis of finite fields using AOP which is efficient for H/W, S/W implementation systems without bases-transformations for Electronic Commerce and Secret Communication. And then we propose a new multiplier based on the anomalous basis of finite fields using AOP which reduces the running time by 25% than that of the multiplier based on finite fields using trinomial with polynomial bases.
