Objective: This study lays its aims at the definition of relevant operation method and function by researching on the value to be brought when applying smart device that can hand carry soft and flexible materials like jelly. Background: New technology and material play a role in bringing type transformation of interface and change of operation system. Recently, importance has been increased on the study of Organic User Interface (OUI) that conducts research on the value of new method of input and output adopting soft and flexible materials for various instruments. Method: For fulfillment of the study, 27 kinds of gestures have been defined that are usable in handheld device based on existing studies. Quantitative research of survey was conducted of adult male and female of 20s through 30s and an analysis was done on the function that can be linked to gestures with highest level of satisfaction. In order to analyze needs and hurdles of users for the defined gesture, a focus group interview was conducted aiming at the groups of early adopters and ordinary users. Results: As a result, it was found that users have much value regarding usability and fun for elastic device and analysis could be conducted on preferred gesture and its linkable functions. Conclusion: What is most significant with this study is that it sheds new light on the values of a device made of elastic material. Beyond finding and defining the gestures and functions that can be applied to a handheld elastic device, the present study identified the value elements of an elastic device - 'usability and 'fun' -, which users can basically desire from using it. Application: The data that this study brought forth through preference and satisfaction test with the gestures and associated functions will help commercialize an elastic device in future.

Purpose : We investigated the effects of the insole types on lower leg muscle activation during treadmill walking. The three insole types investigated for this study were normal insole, medial wedge insole, and viscoheel. Methods : Participants were assigned into three groups. People with foot transformation were excluded from this study. Each participant walked for ten minutes. The first day we applied a normal insole. On the second day, a medial wedge insole was applied. Finally, on the last day a viscoheel was applied. After walking on a treadmill for ten minutes, we measured muscle activation in lower leg muscles (gastrocnemius and tibialis anterior). Surface electromyography (EMG) was used to measure muscle activity. The data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with repeated measures to determine the statistical significance. Results : The results of this study were summarized as follows. While walking on the treadmill, root mean square (RMS) values of the gastrocnemius when the viscoheel was applied were significantly lower than the other insole types. There was no significant difference for the RMS values for the tibialis anterior using viscoheel. The normal insole and viscoheel insole were significantly different in a post hoc analysis. However, there was no significant difference for normal insole and medial wedge insole. Conclusion : Using a viscoheel insole decreases muscle activity of the lower leg. Therefore, in conclusion, the viscoheel insole type reduces the load on the lower leg during walking.
The ecdysteroid titers of representive developmental stages of the blackblow fly, Phormia regina, were determined by radioimmunoassay and the effect of ecdysteroid on the oocyte maturation was investigated. Prior to every molts ecdysteroid levels began to increase sharply, suggesting ecdysteroid was the major component for egg-larval, larval-larval, and larval-pupal transformation. A difference in the levels of ecdysteroid between male and female was ob¬served during adult life span. Following the protein meal, ecdysteroid in the females increased rapidly to a maximum at 96 hr of age when terminal oocyte fully matured. Effect of ecdysteroid on oocyte development was determined for control and ecdysone-treated female flies after the liver-feeding. The growth of oocyte in the flies treated by $\mu$g of ecdysone, along with the control flies, was not facilitated. When the flies treated by 5 $\mu$g of ecdysone, however, duration of oocyte maturation was shorter than those of other two groups. This can be suggested that oocyte development in P. regina is due to the critical level of ecdysone.

Humic substances present in landfill leachates were extracted and their characteristics were analyzed with respect to landfilling age as a basic study to evaluate the effect of humic substances on the transport and transformation of other pollutants in pollution plume contaminated by landfill leachate. Element analysis of the extracted humic substances were performed. The information on the functional groups of the humic substances molecules were obtained from the spectroscopic analysis using UV-visible, FT/IR, and fluorescence spectroscopy. The structural characteristics of the humic substances were also analyzed by $^1H$ and $^{13}C$ NMR spectroscopy. From the results of the analyses it was found that the structure of the humic substances present in landfill leachates was more aliphatic than aromatic relative to other common humic substances extracted from natural soils and water. The results indicate that the degree of humification of the humic substances were relatively low. The degree of humification, however, was increased as the landfilling age was increased.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of educational activities based on oriental mythology on young children's creativity and personality. A total of 14 sessions were applied to 36 children (18 experimental group and 18 control group). For this study, myths in Shan-hai jing, The Classic of Mountains and Seas), which is the origin of oriental mythology, were used as basic data of class activities and developed to experimental groups. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 statistical program and covariance analysis (ANCOVA) was conducted with covariance score of the group after the activity. The results of this study were as follows: First, integrated educational activities using oriental mythology had a positive effect on all children's creativity and all sub-factors. Second, integrated educational activities using Oriental mythology have a positive effect on children's personality. The expansion and transformation of educational texts to oriental mythology is not only helpful for young children's creativity and personality development, but also enables them to experience cultural balance through their new understanding of the Orient.

With the introduction of the Cloud Computing, the IT Support organization is facing a new organizational challenge. Especially, the PaaS(Platform as a Service) cloud provisions all of the servers, the network, the storage, the OS, and the middleware installation & configurations without the IT subject experts. This change requires the researches on the new role of the IT Support staff, the collaboration among the skill groups, the conflicts between the IT Support and the Line of Business. But there is no study on this perspective. Hence this paper will study the negative forces against the adoption of the PaaS and the associated organizational changes. This finding can help the IT organization define the new organization structure and the skill set to easy the conflicts, and prepare the transformation for the PaaS adoption.

The introduction of digital technologies affects most socio-economic processes and activities in the economy, from agriculture to public services. Even though the world is currently only in the early stages of digital transformation, the digital economy is growing rapidly, especially in developing countries. Shortly, digital platforms will be able to replace the "invisible hand" of the market and turn it into digital. Some digital platforms have already reached global reach in some sectors of the economy. The growing value of data and artificial intelligence is reflected in the high capitalization of these enterprises. Their growing role has far-reaching consequences for the organization of economic activity and integration into the field of e-business. However, their importance and level of development in different countries differ significantly. The main purpose of this article is an assessment of the level and trends of the digital economy in the world and the identification of homogeneous groups of states following the main trends in the development of its components from among the EU countries. The methodology of the conducted research is based on the use of general scientific research methods in the analysis of secondary sources and the application of statistical methods of correlation-regression and cluster analysis. Macroeconomic indicators and components of DESI (Digital Economy and Society Index) were used for the analysis. Results. Based on the analysis established that most developed countries have a medium level of digitalization of the business environment and a high level of digitalization of socially oriented public services, while countries with lower GDP focus their policies on building digital infrastructure and training qualified personnel. The study summarizes and analyzes current trends in digital technology, analyzes the level and dynamics of integration of digital technologies of the studied EU countries, the level of development of e-business and e-commerce. The conceptualization of mechanisms of creation of added value in the digital economy is offered and the possible consequences of digitalization of the economy of developing countries are generalized.
Carbon neutral policy in Korea pays limited attention to the concept of sustainable economic growth. This limitation can be compared with other countries' carbon neutral policies such as US, UK and China where the climate change policies are closely connected to economic policies to boost further economic growth. This paper adopts a Ramsey growth model to account for the impact of carbon neutral policy on long-term economic growth and the accumulation capital. The model incorporates the Hartwick rule to allow sustainability of economic growth by transforming resource input into other input factor for growth. The analysis provides a possibility of low accumulation of capital as a result of carbon neutral policy in the absence of effective transformation of fossil-fuel factor into growth-related productive capital. Such low capital stock can be more aggravated when there exists a rent-seeking behavior of various interest groups with voracity to exploit social capital.
Background: Ginseng is one of the most valuable herbal supplements. It is challenging to perform quality control of ginseng products due to the diversity of bioactive saponins in their composition. Acid or alkaline hydrolysis is often used for the structural elucidation of these saponins and sugars in their side chains. Complete transformation of the original ginsenosides into their aglycones during the hydrolysis is one of the ways to determine a total saponin group content. The main hurdle of this approach is the formation of various by-products that was reported by many authors. Methods: Separate HPLC assessment of the total protopanaxadiol, protopanaxatriol and ocotillol ginsenoside contents is a viable alternative to the determination of characteristic biomarkers of these saponin groups, such as ginsenoside Rf and pseudoginsenoside F11, which are commonly used for authentication of P. ginseng Meyer and P. quinquefolius L. samples respectively. Moreover, total ginsenoside content is an ideal aggregated parameter for standardization and quality control of ginseng-based medicines, because it can be directly applied for saponin dosage calculation. Results: Different hydrolysis conditions were tested to develop accurate quantification method for the elucidation of total ginsenoside contents in herbal products. Linearity, limits of quantification, limits of detection, accuracy and precision were evaluated for the developed HPLC-MS method. Conclusion: Alkaline hydrolysis results in fewer by-products than sugar elimination in acidic conditions. An equimolar response, as a key parameter for quantification, was established for several major ginsenosides. The developed approach has shown acceptable results in the analysis of several different herbal products.

Third places are those that offer a space outside of work and home for people to escape the stress associated with the primary spaces of their lives. Through social interactivity these help in acquiring some emotional support provided by a close and intimate attachment. Such social support can turn into social resources for individuals and can lead to forming communities that may become incubators for social capital through regular visits to shared socializing places. This paper focuses on social interaction that takes place through the third place and the communities that are being created as a contributing factor to knowledge management. The study being reported in this paper investigated the role of coffee shops as third places in building communities and social capital in Kuwait. A mixed-method approach was used to conduct the study. These methods included qualitative methods such as extended conversations in the form of semi-structured interviews and quantitative methods of using questionnaires distributed to coffee shop staff and visitors. Results indicated that importance attached to providing facilities by coffee shops reflected that the owners perceived these as third places. The facilities attracted customers to coffee houses where interactions took place that helped to build communities. The pattern of visits by customers showed that mostly they come in groups and have meetings and gatherings that facilitated and encouraged interactions. The communities that are being built in the coffee shops are indicative of these being perceived as third places by owners, customers, and staff. This study shows the potential of coffee shops as a major sector of the food industry promising a valuable contribution in transformation and transition to a knowl- edge-based economy in Kuwait.
